Detailed Reviews
Wow. Super, fantastic, suggestive, beautiful, 100% customer focused - do I need to carry on? We had 3 apartments in October and our stay was more than perfect. All staff, management and anyone we had contact with made this the perfect stay. Nothing was too much and we felt so welcome. We had so many highlights. The suites are perched on the top of the mountain and so you can see both coastlines, sun rise and sun set. The place is super well maintained, breakfast excellent. Whilst the hotel sorted out all transportation we needed I wish we’d hired a car both for the location but also for Santorini. There are so many little places to stop and see and the hotel staff expertly guided us through all. The walk down to the village is beautiful and whilst steep in parts the 3 70+ in our party managed - just! I would totally recommend you stay here. My absolute highlight? Last night BBQ? Nic’s burger? The view? No. The staff and their desire to make your whole stay and every day trip the best is could possibly be!

Wow, just wow! The position of the hotel at the top of the mountain allows for some breath taking views of the caldera and rest of the island.
Although in a quieter region of the island, this was just perfect for us for a relaxing stay and away from the busy tourist areas of Oia and Fira.
The rooms are stunning with your own private jacuzzi and day bed- worth the extra cost!
Breakfast each morning is more than enough with fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, bread, meat and an omelette cooked to how you like it!
Food is available at the pool bar which is a bit more cost than the restaurants in the local village but the portions are huge.
Just a short scenic walk down into the local village where there are plenty of restaurants for dining out in the evening and a bit more of a stroll back up the hill but fine for the evening when it is cooler.
We rented a quad bike for the day which was 55euro cash (65 if by card) and travelled to Fira which was only around 20 minutes away.
Top tip: for the best location for seeing the beautiful sunsets, go to the lighthouse in Akrotiri (only around 10 mins away) - it’s a beautiful location where you can sit on the rocks and watch the sunset rather than the packed Oia version.
The staff here are lovely and can’t help you enough. Theo and the team were great and able to offer advise on trips, renting cars etc
Would recommend to anyone looking to come to Santorini for a quiet, relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

If you’re looking for something a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Fira / Oia then this is the place for you!
The views at Kalestesia are amazing, over looking the Volcano and Caldera edge. With only 10 suites, the hotel rarely feels busy, and there is none of the classic fighting for sun beds. Some of the suites have their own loungers and small pools outside which is perfect for even more privacy. The breeze, which is to be expected at Santorini, helps cool you down, and if you’re lucky enough for light winds, the pool will certainly cool you down instead.
There is a small bar by the pool which serves cold beers, wine and food. It’s reasonably priced and the food is good - I fully recommend the Gyros!
Breakfast consists of a few courses including cereal, fruit and freshly made omelet - and if you’re super lucky, the hotel dog might pay you a visit.
I would note that, as expected, the hotel is on the top of a hill (and therefore amazing views), but getting round without a car can be tiring, but perfectly possible if you’re reasonably fit. Some taxis, especially the ones organised by the hotel will take you to the accommodation. There is a bus stop in Akrotiri, a 10-15 minute walk, which goes directly to Santo Wines and Fira. Buses run every 30 mins, but be prepared that sometimes they don’t turn up. If you want to go to Oia, you need to change in Fira, which is also quiet easy. Michael is also happy to help with any transfers but I’d recommend hiring a car if possible (he will also help with this).
Some restaurants (Good Heart, Theofanis and Asterias) will take you to and from the hotel for free.
Over all a perfect week, the team couldn’t do more to help us.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and nice pool area.
Difficult access due to the bad road condition and the height the hotel is located in.
Small rooms and no variety in breakfast (everyday the same limited options).
Misleading room management (we booked a premium suite with private jacuzzi and we were given instead other suite with public jacuzzi),the pictures in the internet do not correspond to the room you are supposed to book and CAUTION if you book a room with free cancelation this guarantee is not applied as it should be.
Conclusion: overpriced, it's not recommended

Response from Meni Pastritsi, Guest Services / Front Office at Kalestesia Suites
Responded Oct 31, 2021
Greetings from Kalestesia suites We were surprised to read your comment about our accommodation. Obviously our customers' opinions are respected and help us get better BUT it would be good to be based on real facts, To restore the truth only 1. Your booking had a flexible cancellation policy especially due to the pandemic but you requested cancellation 2 days before because you did not want to comply with the rules of the Greek state that changed the rules for travel to the Greek islands and forced you to do RAPID TEST instead of SELF TEST on COVID- 19 2. all our suites have private jacuzzi on their terraces for use ONLY of each suite and obviously not for public use. You booked this suite. Upon your arrival you asked us to have privacy (and not only private) which is offered in our suites category DE LUX & ELITE SUITES and you did not accept the extra cost Happy Winter with health

Kalestesia suites in Akrotiri are located in an exceptional surrounding with a stunning view over the entire Kaldera as well as the cities of Oia and Fira. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The team and service is good and most of the time ready to help.
For breakfast every guest can compose an individual set-up out of a variety of choices which will be served the next morning. A pretty convenient and sustainable approach as we found.
We enjoyed some very nice days in Akrotiri and were lucky enough to have a suite with a own jacuzzi facing the Kaldera.
Wit Michael's help we were also able to get a car for some trips around this busy island. Coming back to Kalestesia Suites was every time a treat since the calm and relaxed atmosphere at the top of the mountain with a little breeze all the time is contributing a lot to a relaxing stay. Due to the limited number of rooms, it never gets crowded or buzzing at the bar or at the pool. We can definitely recommend going there.

Very beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the volcano of Santorini. Excellent customer service, all staff were very friendly and willing to please you. They helped us to rent a car, booked a range of activities for us and they recommended the best places to visit on the island.
We rented a room with a jacuzzi in the balcony which is highly recommended! The hotel has its own parking which is very convenient (compared to other hotels on the cliffs that you have to walk long way carrying your luggages)
Overall great experience and I would definitely go again!

The staff at Kalestesia Suites are really what makes the experience, they couldn’t be more helpful. From the moment we arrived they assisted us with restaurant recommendations, transfers, we got to make breakfast requests from an extensive list for every day which is cooked fresh for you while you soak in the Santorini views. The hotel is also beautiful and peaceful. It is a long way away from Fira and Oia (the main towns in Santorini) but this is reflected by their very reasonable prices. If you prefer to stay somewhere a bit quieter and with stunning views I would definitely recommend this holiday. Me and the girls had an amazing time here and would like to thank the staff for their hospitality

Fantastic little boutique oasis away from the tourist frenzy of Oia and Fira. If you are looking for some breathtaking views, unbelievable peace and impeccable service of Michael, Fivos, Jorgos and his team - then you have found a perfect little gem.
The rooms are modern, spacious, clean and with unbelievable views of the Caldera, a lovely albeit fairly cool but refreshing pool and good room service.
Yes, the hotel is a bit far off and you do really need a car or at least someone that drives you to all the hotspots which is what we did. The hotel offered us their driver that took us all over the island which came out about as much as a rental car without the hassle and worry about those tiny roads up and down the hill. Highly recommended! And EFHARISTO to the whole team!

A fantastic hotel with amazing staff. The hotel and facilities were pristine. Dennis,Fivos , miss Anna, Michael and the others we didn’t know their names couldn’t of done anything more for us they were brilliant and so welcoming. They booked quads and taxis for us and also streamed the Welsh football game which made my husband very happy. The food and drink were great and the chilled setting was so relaxing as well as the views which were not to be missed as was the sunset. We would highly recommend this small boutique hotel and will definitely return soon.

Myself and my partner came to Kalestesia Suites for our ‘pre-wedding honeymoon’ and we could not have had a better place to stay. Michael greeted us on arrival who was amazing, upgraded us for our first night to their premium suite which was absolutely stunning and then we moved to another room (which was more of a villa!) which suited us perfectly. Nothing was too much to ask for, Michael arranged an ATV for us for the week (would highly recommend as a way to travel the whole island!). Breakfast was absolutely beautiful, choices made during check in that can be changed at any time (although perfect for us so we kept it the same all week!) Petya was fabulous, felt like we made a new friend while we were there! Can’t recommend highly enough and we are 100% planning on coming back again- possibly for our wedding anniversary 😉 thank you again for a beautiful honeymoon. Maybe see you both if you visit Liverpool one day 🤪

Hi Rispoli52,
There is an additional cost for all transfer arrangements. The cost for the one way transfer from the port or the airport is 30 EUR , but this depends also from the number of guests and the arrival time.
Hi Alexia G,
Of course we can assist you to rent any type of baby gear you need during your stay in Santorini.
Feel free to contact us for any further information.
Best regards,
John Makris
