The place was immaculate throughout. Everything you need was provided. The Manager Nike greeted us and spent time offering tips etc. I requested different sunbeds on our first morning as I preferred the flat bed type and within 30 minutes the concierge Dimitris brought them !!!
We booked this place for a family trip where we were 4 adults and 4 children. We informed the accommodation before booking that we have 4 young children with their ages. They confirmed that children of all ages were welcomed. Since the moment we checked in and we didn’t feel welcomed. One of the guests was not happy that kids were swimming and obviously playing, and complained of noise, despite the accommodation advertised sound proof villas so the management so asked us to take the kids out during the day. Our kids didn’t leave our place and were swimming in our premises. We asked them not swim or go outside during “the noise free times” that the management of the villas provided us when we checked in. Also we tried to take our families out on daily basis for other activities outside to avoid unnecessarily problems with some rude guests. This is clearly added unexpected cost to our holiday. We payed more than 2K for the accommodation only and specifically asked for the pool and the fact it’s not adult only place and the accommodation promised us what they couldn’t deliver. During the whole stay we didn’t feel welcomed and felt the management liked their “returning costumers” which they said it literally. She even mentioned that she thinks she can call police for kids noise. She also said that other guests being nervous and we having only boys is not a good combination, we felt this discriminative against our children sex. I think the description of the villa and what we found were not matching, this deceived us into booking this accommodation thinking we will have a break after stressful time with the recent pandemic. Also we felt stressed by the way the management treated us and clearly favouring their known customers rather than fulfilling their promises on the website. If you were thinking to enjoy your holiday with children avoid this place…
Very good space. The house that I and my family (3 couples) stayed have 3 bedrooms. Very nice place and calm. Has partnership to rent quads closer to the apartment. Beautiful view of Santorini island.
The apartments are located in a very quiet area. The area is located so you can reach white, red and black beach very easily. Our flat had three floors and the kitchen had one electric hob, one sandwich grill and one kettle so cooking is not really possible apart from pasta and pesto. House was clean and well kept and towels were shifted twice during a week. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Pool was more of a hot tub size, the other apartments had bigger pools. On the top floor you could not stand straight but it had a nice small balcony from here you could enjoy the sunset with a nice breeze. Slightly overpriced. Nice very service minded and helpful staff.
The place is spacious, nicely designed, clean and bright. the pool is bigger in person compared to the pictures. it is a more relaxed environment in akrotiri and is easy to find if you are driving. Good place to stay a few night if you want to explore the southern part for a couple of days. Dimitri is also a very nice host, quite friendly. Only thing to note is that the stairs are not so safe for small kids because of the huge space below the handle. So if u have small children, take note. For us, it is not a problem. Thankfully my kids are well behaved.
I have spent several holidays in Santorini, but nothing can be compared to Aura Marina, this is why I have decided to come back for my second time! The apartments are simply amazing, and the caldera view is speechless: having a bath in the private pool is WORTHLESS! The staff is very polite. Very clean.
We stayed at Aura Marina for 3 nights. The apartment met all our expectations. It was clean, had all the basics that we needed in terms of cooking, comfy beds, place to lounge and the splash pool was perfect for cooling off after the beach. Dimitri at reception was really friendly and helpful. We’d definitely recommend this accommodation. Also, if you are thinking of hiring a car...do!
We've just returned from 10 nights at Aura Marina, staying in the 'Meltemi' apartment. This was our first visit to Santorini and, when reading all the reviews, Oia, in particular, but also Thera appeared to receive the most mention, the former especially for the sunsets. These locations may be fine if you are happy with crowds, don't plan to hire a car and want, therefore, to have an abundance of restaurants on your doorstep. In the end, though, we elected to stay to the south of the island in Akrotiri and are so glad that we made this decision. We visited Oia for a short trip and, while we can say we have done it, there is no way that we would have wanted to stay there given the constant recycling of tour coaches and the resultant throngs of people. By contrast, Akrotiri, is calm and peaceful, doesn't attract the crowds and, if you want the sunsets, there are restaurants towards the lighthouse at the southernmost tip of the island where you have uninterrupted views without the need to jostle for prime spot. Aura Marina was simply excellent. The views across the Caldera are superb and everyone who visited us during our stay - we were on the island with 90 others for our daughter's wedding - commented on the same. Dimitri couldn't have been more helpful both before and during our stay. Although we didn't opt for the daily cleaning service, the apartment was cleaned mid-way through our stay and clean towels were provided every 3rd or 4th day. A car is most definitely needed, though, since the nearest restaurant (that we found, anyway) is about 1km distance, added to which there is no street lighting, so returning on foot in the dark after a hearty meal and, doubtless, a glass or two of wine would constitute quite a challenge! There is a Mini-Mart around 100 metres away but the range is extremely limited. We were unable to find sufficient to construct a meal on the evening of our arrival and so settled for Water, Beer and Fresh Eggs from this shop and then drove to another at the junction of the last right turn as you head towards the apartments. As another reviewer has commented, the layout of the apartments may not suit everyone with small children but, then, we visited others during our stay where the same could equally be said. We were aware of the presence of infants during the course of our stay but don't believe that the parents experienced any difficulties. Suffice to say, though, that it is not somewhere where children should be left unattended! All in all, we were sorry to leave and would happily return to Aura Marina if the opportunity arises to visit Santorini again.…
Spacious apartment with two terraces one with a small private pool. Staff at the reception is very helpful. Nice view on the Caldera. Quiet place. Car needed to move around. Special thanks to Dimitri.
First time staying outside Oia but much quieter and fantastic views. Apartments nice and clean and well equipped. A car is essential here to get to other locations. Lovely plunge pool. Would recommend for busy season to escape crowds and more economical option.
