A resort-style hotel set in a well-kept garden, under the shadow of old plane trees. The hotel claims to be 3*, however there are several elements that would justify a 4* category - spacious and nicely decorated room, free water and juice in the room replenished every day, a bathrobe, fresh towels for the pool, attentive staff that makes you feel welcome, etc. The stainless steel pool is very inviting, the whole area was very peaceful even in the peak season. The pride of the hotel is its restaurant serving Angus beef from their own cattle farm. We ate there 4 times, having tried both meat and veggie dishes and we liked everything. The only letdown for me was the lack of a proper lever espresso machine in the bar, and the mattress could have been better too. Balatonfenyves itself is a small, bit sleepy coastal village, with couple of beach buffets and a very nice yacht club. All in all, I’d love to come back one day.

Hubertus Hof is on the south side of Balatonfenyves in a quiet street at the edge of Nagyberek My father has been going here for years and always recommends it, but this is the first time I've eaten here. Hubertus is a country hotel with excellent rooms and facilities and a restaurant to match. The room is well decorated and comfortable, and the service is prompt and friendly. We had a fantastic pumpkin soup, venison with a homemade blueberry sauce which balanced sweetness and acidity perfectly. The potato dumplings were flavoured with wild garlic and very good too. My wife's braised beef was perfect, coming from Hubertus own herd of cattle. There's also a good selection of fish on the menu. The wine list has some local highlights, and good choices from around 10 euro about 30. The whole three course dinner for two with wine for less than 50 euro was good value for the excellent quality. Since Hungary has low prices in general, and this is a bit more expensive, it doesn't get the attention it deserves, and that's a shame. There's very little as good along the southern shore of Lake Balaton.

Food and service arw always excellent. We come here for years and we never had bad food. Price is ok for this standart. They make also special vegetarian plates. On friday you can find actually special food made in the ofen. Excellent
