After a bland hotel experience in Salta, it was a pure delight to stay in this amazing 1920's gem. I felt like I had stepped into another time and place, with tons of elegance and charm. John, Maria and staff are very friendly, our room was exquisite - flowering trees off our bedroom balcony. The chef is very talented and... More

Switched from Sheraton (not worth staying at) to el castillo after a delicious lunch and beer brewed on site (best beer have had in Argentina). The owner of the castle came by and spoke to us for a while and gave a tour of the hotel - he is a very nice man originally from Alabama. We decided to stay... More

If you don't have to stay in Salta, this is the place for you to stay. Just 12 minutes drive from Salta, incredible place to stay, felt like a king in my own castle. Fantastic rooms, service, so friendly that you wouldn't believe.... Rooms are large with antique furnishings. They also have a restaurant with incredible food. All very personalized.... More

This hotel is not a chain product! It has character, and is owned by one. John is a native of Alabama who fell in love with Salta. He and Maria, both delightful, recently took over the hotel. El Castillo was built as a mansion for a rich Argentine family at the turn of the last century. Although renovated as a... More

We stayed 5 nights at this turn of the century Italian made castle in April and truly enjoyed every moment. We have been travelling for a month in Argentina and this place was by far the best place we stayed. The history, the architecture, the grounds, the rooms, the decor, and most importantly, the owners John & Maria. They were... More

We stayed just one night at the hotel and love the place as it is very charming and quiet. The location is nice for relaxing and going to walk in the Quebrada. Our room was large and furniture with antique furniture. The breakfast was very good with fresh fruits.

We were hiking around and stopped for lunch there (didn't stay at the hotel). The owner and staff were really caring. The food was excellent, we were full at the end of the meal, and the price was average. We were then accompanied on a tour of the beautiful hotel. I definitely recommend this place as a restaurant.
