Room was average, bed was comfortable. Check in was done without the staff present at the time in reception. There are locks with number codes. Surrounding area is very nice for outdoor activities. Price was 75 euros for one night for two people in June.

The hotel was renovated lately, but very poorly. Bathroom floor was already ruined by the water, because when you take the shower, the water goes all around the bathroom before ends up to drain. Furnishings…if You can call it Furnishings, looked like they wanted to keep it modern and simple, but the outcome was more like a half empty room. And the few piece of furnitures were placed so weird, not practically. We were staying in basic twin room on the ground floor. I guess there was a duplex room above our room, because we heard kids and adults jumping and running around upstairs, talking, laughing and it sounded like they were running on the stairs all the time we were in our room between 7 AM and 22 PM. So annoying!!! No soundproofing at all. If you build a duplex room with stairs, please build also good soundproofing! There was no breakfast available and the restaurant menu was quite poor for vegetarian. I’m so sad, because Ukko restaurant used to had very excellent breakfast and few excellent a la carte dishes for vegetarian - e.g. the most perfect vegetarian hamburger. I don’t normally like hamburgers, but that one used to be so delicious! Only perfect things: the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! Hotel staff was extremely friendly. So when I'm giving only 2/5 for the service, I don't mean the hotel staff, but lack of services like no breakfast. Hotel staff gets 5/5 from me. Hope I don’t have to stay there again.

Martini was warm. Also other things reminded that this place was average all in all. Nice atmosphere although so place worth visiting for. Golf and other recreational possibilities makes this restaurant a good place.

I can only tell of their summer as I've not been there in winter. So keep this in your mind. The location is great. By the lake, really close to the little there is around here. Affordable price, friendly, cosy and helpful staff (not too many of them as summer is not the high season). What they may miss with number of staff they well make it up with the kind and helpful attitude that feels like person-to-person service. The rooms are rather recently fixed, yet no air-conditioning so in summer the rooms may be warm. At the times I've been here not so much mosquitos have been around but there may be plenty of them so keeping the balcony door open for night may not be the wisest of ideas. Instead you may want to skip the fancy 2-story rooms in upstairs in summer and opt for the ground floor rooms. The food in here is worth trying. Breakfast is nothing special, but is of decent quality and keeps you going well for enough hours.

Hotel is not the most modern out there, but seems to be recently renovated. Basic hotel rooms have different colours and lot of space. Basic rooms are probably ideal for a small group of friends (2-4 people) and especially those rooms that have their own sauna. Rooms are very minimal in design and equipment-wise. The view is pretty nice from the second floor rooms (=rooms with sauna). The beds are not ideal for taller persons, but otherwise everything was ok. The breakfast was very standard hotel breakfast. The restaurant was ok and the menu even had some interesting local specialties. In the end the room price (138 euros for a basic room with a sauna) seemed a bit high compared to the overall quality level of the hotel. However the location is excellent (right next to Piazza & slopes & mountain bike routes) and service was really nice. I was even able to extend the check-out to 4 pm without additional charges.

We recently stayed there due to the friends party held in a location close by. We tried to find a hotel a month earlier, but there was almost no availability. Later I found out that this was due to everything being closed. The main season was over and the summer season still to be started. I was not expecting much out of the place, so everything turned out to be a nice positive surprise. The hotel rooms are quite small and very very basic, but fairly recently remodelled and everything was kept very clean. There were only 3 other rooms occupied at the same time, so on the night before they asked what time we would like to have the breakfast. Due to low occupacy, there were not going to be a buffet. We were offered a nice, very scandinavian continental breakfast which was served directly to our table. There was more than enough to eat. Also, the staff was very friendly. Shortly, if you know what are you getting into, this place is just fine. So the overall rating Very Good is exactly that for this location and season, but again, if found in some major city, the rating would of course be an average at the best.

We went to Finlad to celebrate 2012. We didn't stay at UKKO hotel but staying at the house we had breakfasts served at UKKO. The staff was frienly. Our house was OK, we spent a really good time. It term of skiing this year was poor due to the weather but anyway we enjoyed it despite it took some time to get to the hill (i should say that it qite difiicult to walk in heavy ski boots) but all of us had cars and we could drive there. Very good SPA complex in this village. Food was excellent and healty and fresh. I would def. recommend to go there.

There are three different types of accommodation: 1) hotel rooms 2) apartments 3) cottage/villa. We stayed in an apartment for 4 nights. It was modern, clean and spacious for two people. There was: - combined living room, kitchen and a dining area - separated bedroom with dubble bed (two 80cm beds combined) a spacious bathroom - sauna - a small upperfloor with two single beds (80cm) - small warm (heated) entrance hall where you can leave for example your skiing equipments and snowy or wet shoes and clothes. Kitchen was full equipped with fridge, freezer, electric coocer, oven, dish machine, equipments for making food, coffee and tea, toaster, containers, knives, forks and spoons. Bathroom was spacious with toilet, shower corner with a good hand shower, basin, three cabinets under the basin and a dryer cabinet. It was quite dim light in the whole bathroom – only few spotlight – and no light at all in the shower corner. Weird I think. There's no cleaning service during your stay. They clean the apartment only after you leave the hotel. That's ok if you stay only few days (like 1-5 days). But I don't know it is after that. Location is perfect: all the services are located next to the hotel. Breakfast was quite good. There was for example bread, salad, cucumber, sausages, yoghurt, cereals, porridge, tea, coffee, milk, water and juice. But there was no fruits. Restaurant was nice and food was good. Tips for vegetarians: I recommend you to taste vegetarian hamburger. It's probably the best vegetarian hamburger I have ever eaten!!! The hotel stuff was very friendly. The only negative thing was noisy neighbours. They had some kind of party two days round the clock. So I don't know were they just soooo noisy or is it some kind of poor soundproof in that building. Offical hotel pictures: - http://www.ukkotahko.fi/majoitus/hotellihuoneet/ (hotel room) - http://www.ukkotahko.fi/majoitus/huoneistot/ (apartment) - http://www.ukkotahko.fi/majoitus/huvilat/ (cottage/villa) I don't know if the hotel rooms or cottage/villa are just like in those pictures, but our apartment was just like in those pictures.
