Beautiful setting. Quiet. Idyllic beach. Breakfasts were lovely and served in a room with a sea-breeze and a sea-view. Hotel did not feel crowded and so no fighting over sun-loungers. Reception staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Restaurant was ludicrously overpriced but the food was excellent and the staff attentive. Internet connection was very patchy which exasperated teenage children but hotel allowed us late checkout on day of departure which was amazingly helpful.

We rate it poor, because we expected so much more....... We are fanciers of Relais & Châteaux, but they still have their work cut out for themselves at this property. Mind you, the renovated rooms are fantastic, but the place has a tired run down feeling. And they’ve got to fix thing. What bothered me the most, every time I walked by it was the louver assembly wall that was pulled up to allow the breeze to come through the lobby. It was missing slats and in desperate need of repair. Their restaurant near the beach was possibly the worst of any Relais & Chateaux we have ever visited. What we did like the most was the private pier that was accessed through a covered allee of trees.

Very good standard of rooms. Nice swimming pool and large space for walks. Parking. SPA at a good level, but not too climatic. Unfortunately, beaches unavailable due to algae, which nobody cleans. In addition, there is a strong smell of sewage from one of the nearby properties, which makes the stay even on the balcony, not pleasant. In the restaurant, dinners without delight. Inadequate expensive for the quality of meals offered. In many restaurants on the east coast you can eat much tastier for a similar or much lower price. Poor wait service. In a hotel of this class it is difficult not to judge negatively also the lack of communicative knowledge of English in the range of offered dishes by waiters.

Stayed 2 nights in January 2019. First impressions were very good. It’s a very nice boutique resort in a tranquil location. The grounds were well maintained. Reception and housekeeping staff were excellent. Our room (downstairs overlooking the pool) was spacious and very well appointed, including quality toiletries and a coffee machine. The beach, whilst small, was where most guests based themselves. After 14 nights on a cruise visiting amazing beaches this beach wasn’t quite as impressive for us, particularly due to the wind and murky sea. We preferred the tranquil setting of the infinity pool and it’s warm water. The location is very isolated. There looked to be some villages nearby and the town of Le François. It would have been good to have a hotel shuttle run a couple of times a day to allow for guests without a car to explore the surroundings and have options to eat outside the hotel. At the time of our stay only one restaurant was open for lunch and dinner. It was on the beach and the decor was very smart however the menu was pricey and didn’t change from lunch to dinner on either day. Unfortunately, the service was appalling, and it was easier to order drinks at the bar to take to the restaurant as you were kept waiting a very long time for service. Given the restaurant was closed between 2pm and 7pm there really should be another outlet serving food and drinks. For more than a 2-night stay this set up would have been very frustrating. Overall, it’s a very lovely hotel set in a quiet part of Martinique. If the resort can embrace ways to mitigate the isolation it would make the stay far more enjoyable for those guests, with or without a rental car, staying more than a night or two.
