Note: We went to Sri Lanka May 2022 at the heat of protest and fuel shortage – and despite US Consulate recommendation to avoid Sri Lanka, we did our own investigations and decided to go and felt safer in SL during protests then we did in the US, so you should not hesitate to go. We even viewed a couple protests which were orderly and very civil. Go to SL now as it is not crowded and they really rely on tourism so service will be even better. For the duration of our 3 week tour through Sri Lanka, The Palm was probably our favorite resort. The lobby was very simple but very relaxing with long corridors with seating surrounded by shallow water ponds. Just wish we had more time to enjoy. The housekeeping staff surprised us with an elaborate decorated bed cover made with real leaves, flower pedals for our anniversary and a very delicious cake after our first dinner. Then on our last day, just as we finished our coffee, the entire wait staff surprised us again with a delicious birthday cake and joined to sing happy birthday. Chef Madusonka and Chef Hemontha prepared very elegant meals, both in presentation and superior taste. The cost to add dinner is well worth the price of just dinner, as their dishes rival a 5 star restaurant. Our server Supan and Chamara, Digna DeSilva all provided outstanding service with every meal and celebrating my birthday. I wish we could have stayed a couple more nights just for the food alone!

This was my 2nd visit to the palms to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was excellent and the staff is friendly starting from Shaymalee from reservations who took our booking & special thanks to chefs and restaurant staff who took care of my infant food requirements. We got a room in the 3rd floor with an ocean view. The pool is excellent. I will definitely visit again.

We stayed in this hotel from 6 May for one week, although the country was going through some difficult times the staff in this hotel were amazing, they catered for our every need and they made our stay a most Amazing time. The hotel itself was extremely clean and the food was second to none. I hope the country manages to sort out its issues as I couldn’t recommend this hotel any higher. We will definitely return here in the future. We had a few problems with our own tour operator’s however the staff in the hotel made us aware before we actually knew of it and they sorted everything out for us. 5 star plus

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Palms at the end of our holiday in Sri Lanka, the staff really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Sadly initial impressions weren't great as reception was undergoing some works and our room had a few issues. Some aspects of the hotel are looking slightly dated. However Ruchira the manager took charge of the situation and arranged a room transfer, and from then on nothing was too much trouble. Special mentions to Dilshan at the bar and Shan at the pool who could not have been friendlier towards us. The food in the restaurant was excellent, really nice to have an egg station at breakfast, a range of authentic Sri Lankan food and beautiful fresh fruit that was presented with such care. Top tip: head round the beach to Coral Reef seafood restaurant for amazing sunset drinks.

We arrived at the Palms Hotel and were quickly welcomed with flowers and a warm reception. Drink on arrival and bags taken to our room. The hotel is amazing. We have spent two weeks there for our Easter Holiday. Nothing was too much trouble, it was clean and the food was delicious. The staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you. Special mentions to Asanka in the spa, gives the best massages, facials and leg and foot massages. Shan at the pool was very attentive and so was Noyal at the bar. All of these staff shone for us and couldn’t do enough to be helpful during our stay. However all staff were very friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. We were welcomed to the new year celebrations and we loved every minute of it. We were made to feel very welcome and also made to feel very special. Ruchirer and her team were always so helpful. Checking that everything was in order. I have left the hotel feeling very sad as we felt that many of the staff not only were outstanding, they enjoyed being there and everyone had a smile. The warmth and welcome we received will stay with us all the time. We loved it so much we will be back for another holiday very soon. Thank you The Palms for making our holiday so special. Aaron and Gary

Very good location, hospitality and food. Enjoyed the stay with my family. Spacious location with many activities to do. Nicely set up for any activities supported by well trained staff. Need few modifications to uplift the standards of the rooms, yet value for money.
