Most of the superlatives have been expressed before, however it's worth repeating just how remarkable this place is. To have the vision and then the drive to achieve this amazing building situated where it is is amazing. We loved using the sea breeze rather than air con, the compostable toilet rather than flush, the communal showers (dignity preserved however!). My wife enjoyed a lovely Ayurvedic massage on the special German bed! Food is excellent and they serve easily the best coffee in Sri Lanka! Thank you to this remarkable family.
Clare, Paulina and Carlotta are a family team, welcoming you into their beach front home. They have excellent knowledge of the area if you need advice. The house is very stylish and cool, you’ll need plenty of insect repellent at this homestay as we were bitten a lot even with the mozzie net. Food here is amazing, good breakfast, excellent rice and curry cooked traditionally for lunch and fish each evening for dinner. Bathroom arrangements are unusual but we got used to it after a couple of days, prepare yourself for a surprise when you take a shower!!
We had amazing 4 days at the Amuura Beach House. Claire, Paulina and Carlotta are great hosts which had a lot of information for our further road trip. The design of the house and the rooms is absolutely great and the food is fabulous! Don't miss the chance to try Carlottas homemade cakes - we loved them. The house, rooms and the garden are in a perfect condition and everything is very clean! We absolutely recommend Amuura Beach House - it was the perfect start for our Sri Lankan road trip.
A very belated review with heartfelt thanks for a Sri Lankan highlight. Wonderful stylish and clean accom on the beachfront. The most delicious and fresh breakfasts - the best in 3 weeks. The hosts were all excellent company. So much personality and character compared to the concrete shopping mall type hotels nearby. A visit to their organic cinnamon farm is a must. This was the start of my holiday and i received many tips on Sri Lanka, the people, the transport, food etc which put me in stead for the rest of my trip. Stay here- the place is fabulous and the hosts are very welcoming, authentic people living an inspiring life.
Had a wonderful stay at Amuura. Hosts are fvery friendly and they have lovely cooks who feed you with tasty Sri Lankan food. Initialy the plan was to stay for 2 nights but we extended our stay by one more night as we enjoyed it so much. They have a beautiful garden facing the beach. It's almost like a private beach with beautiful Sri lankan aesthetic furniture. There is no air condition but you don't need one here as the ventilation is great. You can take a day trip to busy bentota. Would highly recommend this property. Cheers to mother daughter duo who has maintained this property exceptionally well. My family is making a visit there soon in March P.S do carry mosquito repellent and spray as they are all around.
