Detailed Reviews
We have sadly just left the Piteoussa Guest House after a wonderful week in Hydra- where just for a moment, the world felt like a good place again. We can not recommend this place and it’s wonderful owner Yiannis more highly. We were booked in June but had to move to September due to Covid. Yiannis could not have been more understanding. Any questions we had prior to arrival were answered fully and immediately. There was nothing that was too much trouble. And the room was gorgeous. A really lovely and clean yet modern space in a quiet part of town, a two minute walk to the harbour. The bed was big and comfy. And everything worked. Hot water, air con, kettle, safe. There was also a beautiful little balcony we could sit out on at the end of the day with a cold glass of rose. We have travelled enormously over the years and have been fortunate to stay on some of the best hotels in the world. In terms of customer service Yiannis rates as high as the best of The Four Seasons. Is the room the same size as a suite in one of their hotels. No. But at around $100 per night vs over $1000 you would not expect it. But I would really rather stay here, in Piteoussa and Hydra than anywhere else in the world. If you read this review- don’t hesitate to book. But please try and keep it a little bit secret. It is only small and we need to come back!

I stayed a week at the Piteoussa Guest House and could not have been happier. The room was modern, meticulously clean and well designed. I had a superior room with a small terrace that made for lovely evening wine time or morning coffee. The room had a Nespresso machine and small frig. The location is a 5 minute walk from the harbor, with no stairs, and is quiet at night. I visit Hydra every year and this is definitely my new “go to” place. You won’t regret staying here—it’s incredible value for money and the host and staff are welcoming.

Lovely building just 4 minutes walk from the harbour and very easy to find. We had a balcony room that was very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly cleaned daily. Excellent WiFi, good communication with the owner who was a very nice and helpful man. Very comfy bed & pillows, lovely views and very quiet and good value for money. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely week at this quiet guesthouse. Room was clean and functioned well, with good shower etc. Daily recharge of capsules for the coffee machine. Towels and sheets changed regularly. Beach towels supplied free of charge. Our room had a pleasant balcony fringed by pine trees where we could sit and watch the quiet comings and goings in the street below, including the hard-working trains of mules carrying goods around the town. The Jasmine taverna is just a little further along the street, where the food was excellent

This is a really great Pension in a beautiful spot in Hydra. Less than 10 mins stroll from the harbour the location is ideal. Well appointed rooms with everything you need - the owner made everything easy and our stay was very comfortable. Nice little patio out front if you fancy a quiet drink watching the world go by.
Highly recommend this accommodation.

We stayed here for four days in June 2022. This guest house is lovely!!
The host: Yanis, is a friendly and very helpful man. Our requests and questions were dealt with fully and promptly at all times.
The accommodation is lovely, spacious, airy, very well presented and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern, clean and bright and the outside of the building looks traditional and well kept.
The location is just a few minutes walk from the port of Hydra, and also conveniently close to many decent taverna's, but it is also very quiet with a private patio / garden in front with tables and chairs for the use of the guests. This is great in the morning for coffee and breakfast or to relax at the end of a long day. I would highly recommend staying at Piteoussa for your trip to Hydra.

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. It’s really friendly with nice spotless rooms and the garden is such a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine after a hot day. If we come to Hydra again we will definitely stay here.

Good location very quiet street away from tourist activities yet still convenient to restaurants and so on. Room is nicely decorated and set up well with convenient plugs, refrigerator and coffee maker. Wine glasses and corkscrew provided. They gave us beach towels to use. Good shower.
AC does not work when window or door is opened, or when you leave the room. But it cooled down pretty quick. If you travel light, like we do, you need to know there are no laundry facilities on Hydra. However you do have drying wires outside on the patio so you can hand wash. Good value for money, friendly owner

Very clean and comfortable little guest house. Only 5 minutes from the port. Little balcony to sit and watch
The passing parade: donkeys, horses and assorted humans. Rooms cleaned daily, and towels and bath products changed regularly too. Little desk, comfy chair and coffee table, bed lights iron and board - the room had all the requirements

A relaxed and friendly place to stay with comfy beds and good aircon. Nice views over the surrounding area and kind and helpful owners and staff. It was good to be just a few steps away from the busier areas but so easy to walk everywhere. There’s also a good Greek restaurant 50 metres away.
