We stayed in the TUI blue playa complex, as it’s now known near the end of August for two weeks, it’s quite a large complex with the reception, dining room, snack bar, drinks bar & the two swimming pools at the beginning of the complex, you can pick up pool towels from there daily, don’t forget your card. All the one & two storey apartments are spread over half a mile & one side is facing the sea. Check in was fast & we were soon in are one bedroomed apartment which is a good size & good order. The kitchen is well equipped for a SC holiday, but they also do A-Inclusive as well. The air con in the apartment was very good & very quiet which made a nice change. There’s a tv in the kitchen lounge with uk channels & European channels for none Spanish or uk visitors, it’s well handy for families with children & the complex is run on them lines ie families & children have a great holiday for all the family. And there’s families from all over Europe visiting the complex which makes for a nice change. The Wi-Fi is very good & we got it on 2 iPhones & 2 iPads which is unusual & you could FaceTime at any time. It’s not the complex for you if you’re looking for adult holidays drinking, dancing etc , I knew what it was like through googling the hotel & I stayed in Bahia feliz in a different hotel last August, so I knew the area & read the reviews on tripadvisor. Bahia feliz is 20 mins from the airport & there’s buses going to Palma one way & playa del ingles etc the other way for those who like to have a good look around . Plus there’s car hire for those who would like to see the whole of the island. Back to the complex there’s a small shop on the complex near the dining room or there’s a bigger supermarket left out of the reception & a short walk to the road turn right & its 20 yards on the right. There a young guy called Eric who works in the shop & his English is really good, if you need to ask for anything then he’s the man to help you if he’s working & all the ladies speak good English. You get a lot more selection for your shopping, they even have a small bakery section with a selection of bakery items. They have a good stock of wine, beer & spirits & cigarettes, cigar’s, tobacco & stock lots of uk products as it’s a spar & it’s open until 10pm 7 days a week. Don’t forget you can’t drink the water unless you boil it first. We always clean are teeth with the local water, to help build up a resistance as you never know when you might need to drink it. The rooms are cleaned every other day or everyday if you put a cleaning card our. You might see cockroaches at night time, as there in all hot countries it’s nothing to do with cleanness. There two electric rings in the kitchen ,when the red light is on it’s off. Press it off & you can use the plates left or right. Plus everyone can get a pool towel, but don’t forget your towel card. There’s a free safe in the bedroom, you make a six number code to open & shut the safe.If your SC There’s also a few restaurants from Chinese to pizza eat in or take away & a wood grill steak house called Bahia. it’s a few minutes walk from the supermarket to the square, there’s a chemist & Frankies cocktail bar next to the chemist, if you walk straight up from the chemist then right to the sea road & turn right your on the sea front & there’s a cafe bar at the start of the sea path, it goes to the next small resort, which is a good walk if your feeling healthy. There is no beach near the sea, it’s large rocks rather than pebbles, but it was mainly used by locals & the sea can be be quite choppy so it’s not suitable for children. From you room it’s at the sea end of the complex, then you walk right on the coast path for ten minutes you will come to a black sand beach, that’s mainly used by locals & also has some large rocks before you enter the sea. It’s better when the tides out in the day time, as it goes in cycles & it goes out quite far & At the end of the long black beach it’s quite shallow there when the tides out, but it’s mainly used by locals. So every hotel etc pool area is well used by all tourist. But having said that there’s plenty of sun beds & no need to play the towel game. Plus late check out can be done the day before you leave. It’s 30 Euro until 3pm & 50 until 5pm, then you can leave at your own leisure. I did mine with Carlos at the reception, who’s very helpful & speaks very good english. if your looking for a laid back healthy family holiday then the Tui Blue Playa would be right up your street, with out a doubt. I’ll be back…
