The Chandris Hotel in Chios was ideally situated on the harbour and our room provided a great view. Within a few minutes walk we could enjoy the wide range of restaurants, coffee bars and shops. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds although the bathrooms are very small. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. The breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of continental and cooked options. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

An emblematic hotel in the port of Chios, perfectly renovated, with very courteous and experienced staff, clean spaces, perfect breakfast. His pool gave us moments of relaxation in the days we wanted to stay inside the city to visit, on foot, all its sights. We attended a wedding in Chios and this was the hotel chosen as one of the best in the area. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. The views were spectacular. The location was good and many things were walkable. Previous reviews stated that there was ample parking. We did not find this to be true so we used cab services or walked. My biggest issue was that someone raided our mini bar and took out one of my gifts. The manager brought in the housekeeper who looked scared to death and looked in the mini bar to make sure the package was not there. I never accused her but clearly the item was gone and a water added. There was no resolution other than...we will continue to investigate.

There is an ample open air complimentary municipal parking 150 meters away from the hotel and all hotel guests are entitled to use it free of charge. We would like to reassure you that no guest belongings are withdrawn from any hotel mini bars as being part of our strict hotel policy, and no such incident has been reported in the past by our valuable guests. I have personally supervised the incident and as you have explained to us, you have made several trips to other destinations prior to your visit at Chios Chandris Hotel. Chios is a magnificent island with a very rich history, important cultural & archaeological sites and monuments, and impressive traditional villages. The Chios Chandris Hotel has become a trademark of the island (it is situated within a few minutes' walk of the centre of Chios town, and boasts glorious sea views). It is the perfect basis for exploring the island. Service, amenities, and rooms are rather basic, but certainly not substandard. Comfortable bed with a thick duvet (is that necessary in summer?).
You don’t expect a hotel of this standard to put you in a room where they’ve forgotten a third bed. Could hardly move.
The shower leaked at base level and covered the bathroom floor with water, even when showering lightly. Swimming in it!
While they forgot to leave me any courtesy water bottles, they managed to charge another guest for theirs. That’s cheating.
However, what makes this hotel particularly bad is its reception: two girls, one on the phone, the other appears to speak a strange kind of sign language. Useless. Tried the same question in English, French and Spanish and got no answer. Seeing as the other girl was still on the phone, after a few minutes more, I left. No acknowledgement is bad hospitality.
There’s worse. I paid my room tax and couldn’t get a receipt for it. There’s a legal obligation.
Avoid this hotel. You can find better without having to spend a fortune on it!

The location and friendly staff was satisfying . The room was clean and view was great . Also it was very kind of them to upgrade our room with no charge . The only thing needs an improvement is the water was flowing with no pressure that makes almost impossible to take a shower .
