Excellent location, directly to the beach. Comfortable, very clean room. Tasteful breakfast and dinner, all fresh and delicious. Personnel was so kind. Value for our money. In the middle of the island, great for excursions. Definitely coming back next year!!!
The hotel is very nice with beach, pool etc. You must pay for The sunbeds on The beach, pay for all drinks at The Dinner ( hald pension) The personal is not servicemindet and not friendly. The food ( buffet) is good in The start of The week but less food and less choice later on in The week. For us, One time is more than enough.
A 3 star hotel, clean, good food, friendly staff but could be improved with a little more maintenance. The hotel is spread over 3 buildinds, not all next to each other. We were in the annex 70 metres away from the main hotel but we had our own small swimming pool. The access to the beach from the annex had dangerous wooden steps and one of our party had a badly sprained Ankle on the first day. The free WIFI only worked in the lobby and the paid WIFI only sometimes in the room. The flexible syphons in the bathroom sink are not properly installed and allows the smell of the sewer to get into the room. We solved it by putting a glass over the drainage hole. We had 2 stormy days where it was not possible to swim but a clean sandy beach. The restuarant is far too small for the size of the hotel. When it is not possible to eat on the terrace you have to wait a long time for a table. They have no good tables for playing cards. …
We stayed at Dedalos Beach hotel first week of September 2017 and have almost only nice things to say about the hotel. The owners are absolutely wonderful. All the staff were wonderful with one exception - the woman in the restaurant with glasses and a ponytail. I tried to say hallo to her everytime I was in the restaurant (two times a day) and she always looked away and only one time she talked to me and that was to put me on place. Otherwise the staying was great and I can absolutely think of staying there again.
Nice location, excellent quality and always enough of food, very nice, kind, helpful staff. All day cleaning our room and pools in the morning. Very nice flowers in the garden. You can see sunset during dinner or see ocean at breakfast, have to take seat in time. At the beach was not convenient to go into the water because of some rocks. Hotel has reasonable prices however have to pay for following additional services: - All kind of drink at dinner (understand for alcohol/juice however water would be nice to have for free) - safe at room - set of sunbed at beach - air condition All in all for that money I think it was excellent choice and we had open option to pay for further services, I would highly recommend this hotel. It was far better than I expected based on other persons opinion here tripadvisor.…
Smelly and noisy, breakfast was pretty disgusting never seen some of the stuff that was on offer! Fresh fruit was available (sliced oranges ) only on two occasions! More like 20km to the main town (bus stops every 500 meters). Pool was very small and without the possibility of sunbathing (no sun beds),only sun beds were on the beach below which cost 6euros for two! The hotel's Taverna bar by the beach was to say the least quite uninviting!!!!
We came for a week in July and it was so perfect we came again in October! No complaints whatsoever. Family owned and run, all staff friendly and helpful, waiter charming and friendly. Food lovingly created everyday with nice quality and variety. Room perfect, great views. Nice and quiet, just the sound of waves, crickets and the twittering of birds . Delightful gardens, right on the sea front, nice sandy beach. Perfect!
Very very nice hotel! Clean and Gay friendly. The staff is wonderful-they made us feel very welcome and conviced us to come back soon! The dinner was amazing! Homecooked meals by a greek mother. The only things that was maybe not that great were the distance to the town but theres buses and taxis all the time and the city should take care of their beaches more.
Not 3-star hotel if you book the double family room. Is in the hotel next door poor standard. Not enough food for the kids in morning breakfast. Only wifi i lobby for 20 persons - and very bad connection. Many excuses and no good personal service from the leading team.
We booked this trip very last minute through FTI and had a bit of a tight budget for it, hence we ended up at Dedalos Beach hotel on a package type deal, which isn't how we like to travel anyway BUT I do have a few bones to pick anyway. First of all, our flight was delayed, this happens, just bad luck. On arrival in Crete we were picked up by taxi along with another couple for the hour long drive to Dedalos... That's 4 adults with luggage crammed into a sedan :/ not great. On arrival at the hotel at about 3.30 am we were warmly greater by a lovely young man whose name I can't remember, who ensured we had a beach view room, water and a light snack seeing as the restaurant was closed. We also received a piece of paper with additional charges on it. Air con €5 per day Room safe €2 per day Sun loungers €6 per day Beach towels €0.50 per day Now considering that the beach and pool are the only entertainment here you would think they would at least supply beach towels for guests free of charge.... :/ and €2 per day for a room safe? Seriously? I would understand if they charged a key deposit that you got back when they got the key back but €2 per day for a safe is a bit crap in my book. Now, breakfast is served between 7.30-9.30am for the ENTIRE HOTEL and if you're not fast enough you get the scraps. Dinner is served between 7.30-9.30pm for the ENTIRE HOTEL and again if you're not fast enough, you eat scraps. Outdoor seating is Very limited, so again, if you aren't fast enough, you will be eating your breakfast / dinner in a hot stuffy dining room with people shoving passed to get to the food :/ As for the food... Breakfast is average, dinner is pretty horrendous actually. Having travelled Greece previously, we know Greek food. We know it's fresh, simple and tasty. The food at Dedalos cannot be described by any of those adjectives. It's mass produced, overcooked, flavorless non Greek food. The staff are lovely and friendly, so that's a bonus. The owners, however, are some of the least hospitable people I have ever had the displeasure to meet. wifi is available only in reception, but don't dare bring a coffee or drink from the restaurant with you while you check your email as you'll get a bollocking from the owners. Also, don't expect a final bill when you check out, you know, for all those extra charges - you'll get a handful of receipts thrown at you for you to add up yourself. And if you have a question, be prepared to wait while phones get answered and other conversations take place while they are 'serving' you, usually very loudly. Location wise, its directly on a decent beach. Which is awesome. I wouldn't rely on the life guards to save you though, mostly they hang out at the bar. The beach bar isn't bad, and the staff are lovely. There are a couple of mini marts and restaurants on the same stretch of road, which is nice - the food in those is a million times better and they will even put on live music and karaoke in the evenings so you're not bored stiff. There is a bus into town every 30mins or so, which is well worth the effort. Keep in mind, there's no shade at the bus stop and the bus takes 20 odd mins to get to town so take water with you. Tickets for the bus are available at reception for €1.60 each but you can get them in town at the kiosk near the bus stop for €1.20 also so.... The rooms themselves are very basic, with a small fridge and tiny TV showing German and Russian channels only, but you're in Crete, you shouldn't be watching tv anyway. We found the beds and pillows to be awfully hard and uncomfortable, but each to their own. Rooms are cleaned daily, but if you want fresh towels you need to ask for them. The bathrooms are usable, but very dated. Bath has a hand held shower, but no curtain so unless you want to flood the bathroom you need to sit down to wash. Also, that fact that we were spoken to in German constantly made it feel like we were... Well not in Crete at all :( All in all, we weren't impressed here at all and won't be going back.…
