It would be easy to criticize this hotel, but taking into account its remote location in the middle of a desert, I think it would be unfair to do so. Just to get there is an adventure, given its remoteness and road conditions. It's actually a pretty basic place; the rooms are nothing special, but ours was clean and functional....

After driving a few hundred km off road, this oasis in the middle of nowhere is a very welcome sight. We gave it 5 stars / excellent due to the outstanding facility in a very challenging environment. However this is definitely not a luxurious 5 star hotel similar to those found in many cities around the world; its a simple...

This hotel is located at over 4,500m in what is essentially the middle of nowhere - whilst there are roads marked on maps it would be very hard to describe them as that. We didn't have any expectations of what the hotel would be like and as a result of the location it is pretty basic (but no where near...

This hotel was booked for us by an agent in Uyuni ( expediciones nueva aventura) who I believe took a large commission on the booking. The hotel construction was by the local community and is of very low quality,. The position is outstanding overlooking the desert and the mountains. The bedrooms are hostal standard with flanellete sheets and and heavy...

Tayka del desierto is the only option in the middle of the Bolivian desert. The hotel facilities are good, better than what I was expecting, clean and the staff is very friendly. The shower was really good, good water pressure and hot water. Although the place is very remote, they could try improve a little the breakfast, giving the guests...

I guess we had high expectation since the night before the stayed at Hotel de La Piedra northern of this one and it is the same owner. But no… We had to scale back a lot… First the room are old and not very clean. I the lobby, you have cables swinging around. No charm I almost felt I was...

This is hard to make a review to this hotel. I've never be in such an hotel where the quality was so much relative regaring the environment where the hotel was located. The hotel is, undoubtedly, the best place to stay if you make a tour visiting the Lagunas del altiplano. It's a luxury in such a remote place. It's...

- "Calama" in the address of the hotel might be misleading: Calama is in Chile, not in Bolivia. The hotel is in the province of Potosi, and their main office is in Uyuni. - The hotel is situated in the Desert of Sioli; there is nothing but sand and mountains around it. - Ojo de Perdiz is a near water...

Rooms were very clean and decent standard. Make sure you get a shower as soon as you get in as the water is solar powered and you may miss out! The food was excellent. The views are stunning and the sky is amazing at night, so clear...cold though so wrap up warm :)

It would be so easy to criticize this place for being too hot or too cold, too noisy, no choice in food etc etc, but the truth it that, without it, it would be so hard if not impossible to visit one of the most spectacular corners of the planet. In fact, the most amazing thing about this little hotel...
