This hotel could be so much better than it is at present with a little more thought and consideration. Firstly the good points: the setting is idyllic, especially if, like us, you don't want brash touristy hotels complete with wrist bands; the people running it are lovely, polite, friendly and truly make you feel welcome; the village and surrounding areas are very Spanish and you will experience many local festivities, all of which you will be encouraged to join in with-all in all, just what we wanted from a weeks stay. Now, the bad points: the bedding-I have thrown away better pillows and sheets; don't expect much in the way of toiletries (I take my own anyway); the food is truly dreadful-to be polite and show willing we had our first meal there and it was disastrous (a salad of lots of raw onion, green pepper and olives with no dressing, main meal of fish, luke warm and tasteless and a hideous shop bought pudding that tasted of cotton wool!); ad hoc bar service round the pool during the day; no snacks during the day or in the evening; a rule that forbids you to bring any food in-strange, as they don't provide anything decent and there is nowhere in the village! I think that Son Jorda is family run (largely) and they struggle to staff the place. We would have loved to not have to go out for an evening meal and just enjoy the ambiance and beauty of the house and grounds or experience a beautiful breakfast under the trees in the morning. Unfortunately we felt compelled to go out morning and night to get decent food. I think they need Alex Polizzi out there advising them as to how to get it right-they are sitting on a gold mine if only they knew it!

Very nice spot in the heard of mallorca, everything is just a 30 min. away (by car).
We did enjoy a 5 night stay in Ruberts, visiting several places and hidden spots.
Breakfast is good and offers market fruits as well as typical local varities from bread to ham and cheese. Expect no 4 stars or 5 stars - this is rural, but on a good level !

What we missed:
chairs and balcony to sit and relax enjoying a private atmosphere
a menue-card for the dinner (which is good but not cheap and varies from day to day fish/meat)

Paquita is the good soul there and will help you with recommendations where to go.
We've been 3 times @Mallorca - this time without any guidebook and found out, there's enough to explore without. Take a (bicycle) ride - there's a lot of rural roads for MTB bikers.
Take the car and got for the wednesday market in Sineu (very nice !!!) or like us - just enjoy sun.

We do recommend a sundowner restaurant just 2 mins away @Sencelles. It's just wonderfull to see the sun go down and have dinner and wine/cocktail near the windmill on the veranda.
You'll see the signs near the church.

For insiders:
Cala Murta (hidden beach north/west) with 40 mins walk - take care on donkeys :-)
Deia (for the real sundowner in summertime)
Sencelles Restaurant (between church and parking area) - you'll find it
More to find:
Yes, but on your own

It was a great pleasure to stay at Son Jordà. The hotel facilities were excellent. Staff was exceptional! At first it seems that our reservation did not came true, we were told at check in. But after a moment we were happy to check in. A definitely worth to stay here. We will definitely come back here if we stay in Mallorca again.

Before I start this review the women who work here that wear black are excellent and friendly but are overworked and need more help.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and were very disappointed with every aspect of our stay. As other reviews state it has the potential to be amazing but is the complete opposite.

The hotel is under the final flight path for Palma airport and is very noisy with planes passing every few minutes (see pictures taken in space of ten minutes).

The room comprised two small child size single beds with hard tired mattresses, dirty wardrobe and dirty bathroom with a tiny shower and yellow stained toilet seat.

The shower was so small I could not wash inside. I am only 166cm tall and men's size medium but did not fit. The hot water was intermittent. The rest of the shower was yellowed plastics and black mould (see pictures).

The toilet seat was stained yellow with ?

The top of the mirror in the bathroom and cupboard were dirty and dusty and had not been cleaned for a long time (see movie clip).

The wardrobe inside the room had not been cleaned and when I placed my clothes in the draw they were marked. When I wiped them out with a damp towel it was brown with amount of sand, dirt and dust (see picture).

The air conditioning in our room did not work and when we complained nothing happened and we were told it is normal in hot weather that they are overworked. We were given a fan which when we plugged it in fused the electrics in the room. As a last resort we called hotel . com to request refund or cancellation but due to lack of staff no one answered. On our last day they finally had an air conditioning engineer fix the problem. No admittance of the fault was offered or apology but were given a free evening meal (see later in review).

The grounds were dirty with cigarette ends that were not picked up for the duration of our stay. Dead leaves and rubbish was not swept up. Only two of the four exterior lights worked. The tennis courts were a mess with lowered net and peeling paint on the walls. Rubbish was overflowing from trash cans outside the gate in the car park (see photo) with rotting food and flies. There was also pigeon dropping everywhere and this was not cleaned up.

The pigeon also regularly defecated in the pool and washed in it. The pool was filtered or cleaned. There were heavy black water mark stains around the edges and the tiles were back at the edges. We tried not to go in unless to cool off very quickly and we would not want children playing in it all day. The sun loungers were also dirty and needed a wipe with a cloth. Food and drinks were not cleared away from tables around the pool and left all day in the sun attracting stray cats and more pigeons.

The stray cats that were around at meals were severely neglected and had cuts (see pictures).

Breakfast was average with cheap orange juice, cheap cheese, cheap ham and chorizo and machine coffee.

The evening meal we had was awful and thankfully it was free as part of the offer to compensate for lack of air conditioning in 34+deg C heat. We had potato soup, a piece of badly cooked rubbery white fish with wet spinach and frozen roulade desert. If we had had to pay they wanted to 57 euros for this. We had far superior excellent fresh food in Sineu for 40euros.

There were no free bikes as advertised and all we could find were old wheels in the gardens.

The wifi is very low quality and only works immediately outside reception and pool area but drops in and out.

Getting a drink from the bar is nearly impossible due to lack of staff which is a necessity as there are no fridges or mini bar facilities in the room to get bottle water or keep your own from the supermarket.

This is by far our worst stay in a long time. Our next night stay was at an amazing converted convent for only 40 euro a night compared with over a 100 euro a night charged by petit hotel son jorda.

Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in a quieter location, away from the tourist traps in the south of the island, Ruberts is a great location! It's about 30 mins drive from Palma, easily accessible and the roads are good. We visited many parts of the island from Ruberts and found many good restaurants in nearby towns. You can park right outside the hotel.

The hotel grounds are pretty and the rooms are spacious. However, don't expect this to be a 4 or 5 star hotel. The rooms are pretty basic and so is the service. We only ever saw two members of staff working at a time and they do everything from house keeping, reception to serving drinks and food. However, the price is very reasonable and it includes continental breakfast. My feeling is, you'd expect to pay more if you are looking for 4/5 star accommodation.

The hotel was booked as our first accommodation on a cycling holiday. The staff were very helpful and the willing to help in any way they could. The room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom.
The only down side was the quality of the food in the evening. We have no problem with there being no choice but feel as the numbers eating were only six to eight on the nights we were there that the food could have been much better. The setting on the terrace is really good and the service was excellent . Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

This finca is in a inland location. It has a nice pool and lovely gardens and is really quite inexpensive compared to much of the accommodation in Majorca.
However, it could be so much better. There is a lack of staff, so you always feel you are inconveniencing them by asking for a drink and the overall atmosphere is a little bit run down. Our room (room 10) had rather dodgy, bodged plumbing. The toilet had been fixed with tape & scarcely worked, the shower was poor & the bath a bit odd! Also this was supposedly a double room, but had 2 single wooden bedframes pushed together - a giant ravine between them! Not the most romantic start to our holiday!!
However, we're not sure what the other rooms were like - perhaps we were just unlucky!

como ir desde el aeropuerto a ese hotel?
Answer from Andreu B
Ruberts, Spain
Gracias y saludos. atte, Andreu Bibiloni.
