This rorbu would deserve more stars if it wasn't so expensive. For the price of for example Grand Hotel Vesuvo in Naples ( Berlusconi's preferred accommodation when being there) including Grand breakfast, we got a standard "fishing cottage flat", not only without breakfast, but without anything, even bed sheets and towels had to be paid extra for. Well, I should...

We have just returned from a week at this Rorbuer. They are OK, but not fantastic. We had two cabins, each for three people. They were tiny, but functional. The loft bedrooms were very tight, with beds almost on top of each other and a very low ceiling which meant we had to crawl into the bed at night. They...

At 1500 NKr a night we expected a bit more. The location was nice, at the far end of the island. It took 20 minutes to walk into the centre of Henningsvaer. The downside was the very slow WiFi that didn't even work at all in parts of the cottage. The TV was a very small, fat TV from the...

Nice cozy cabins by the seaside. Very peaceful stay and a short walk away from the restaurants and cafes. Also check out is by 12pm which allows sufficient time for a lie in before heading off and the staff are helpful.

We stayed in the "Superior Cottage with Sea View" rorbu for 4 nights and really liked it. That's the one with the big triangular window in the pictures. Though only 43m2 I felt there was enough space for 3 adults, 2 small children and a lot of luggage. One bedroom has two single beds and the other had a double...

We stayed as a family of four in a four person cabin. these are located about 10-15 mins walk away from the main town. Our cabin had a separate bedroom plus a sleeping platform over the sitting room which was ok given our kids' ages (7&10) but had they been younger I would not have felt it was safe for...

We recently spent 3 nights at the Henningsvaer Rorbu and had a wonderful time. The cabins are authentic and accommodated 4 adults easily. We stayed in a rorbu on the front overlooking the harbour and it had the most stunning views out of the windows. As we had travelled from Australia we did not have linen but they were provided...

Friendly Ingvill welcomed us – Gutteklubben - to the Rorbu. The accommodation was very clean and picturesque with a priceless view of the Vestfjorden. We had booked a fishing trip with the Tom and his fishing boat. Weather shifted from calm and sunny to snow and stormy, while we caught as much big Skrei (cod) as we ever wanted, more...

A rorbu is per definition a small wooden house for fishers to sleep in during the fishing season. Therefore, don't expect hotel standard - the whole point of staying in a rorbu is to enjoy a simpler, but comfortable standard on a dock by the seaside. This place has a genuine feel to it, and it's not that expensive by...
