Had a fabulous week at Eden roc... Stayed in a bungalow garden view, that was lovely and large with loads of room for a couple.... Lovely fruit platter and bottle of wine on arrival with other bits in our mini fridge.... Great after a long flight and transfer.... Absolutely loved all the different restaurants, didn't get the chance to try them all, which means we need to return again..... Staff are such a friendly bunch, although ran off their feet... Only one moan was when water kept pouring through one of the hall cupboards soaking clothing items when upstairs showered...easily removed and dried in another one.. This was only fixed temporarily and happened a few times... But maintenance where there immediately to try and fix....Great service. Would highly recommend this hotel.....

We booked this hotel a few weeks prior to departure as it was our Golden Wedding Anniversary this year and sent an email asking if it would be possible to have a higher floor, quiet room . We paid for a Superior Sea View Room and got the complete opposite. We arrived late evening and were quickly checked in as only one other couple were in the bus with us. We walked a few paces from the Reception up three steps to the first room on the left hand side - and the door was wide open ! In all our years of travel we have never experienced this, and bearing in mind this was during Covid when many hotels pride themselves on their high standards of cleanliness. Later we saw that opposite was the room for storing luggage and wondered if Room 711 had been used earlier as a courtesy room being so close. We also found that other people had been given a similar room a few doors down as a courtesy room. It actually got worse as when we walked into the room and opened the curtains all we could see in the dark was Oleander bushes. We immediately went back to the Receptionist who said he couldn't do anything as everyone had left for the day, and to go back the following day, so we grabbed whatever we could from our suitcases and went to get a snack. We were impressed that even though it was late there was a hot buffet near the Teppanyaki Restaurant and a large bar where the evening entertainment took place. Next morning we saw the head Receptionist who said she couldn't do anything that evening also as the hotel was full. Never sure about this as often they do have at least one spare room. We explained about our email and the fact that we had paid extra for a Superior Sea View but there was not even an apology. So we had to stay in the Dungeon Room 711 for another night with the suitcases still unpacked. We asked if we could take a look at the room which would be offered and hoped it would be on a higher floor. We found out the number and instead of waiting to be shown we went upstairs ourselves and the chambermaids were cleaning it. A couple were emerging from a room a few doors away on the same side and we asked what it was like and they then told us that they had also been given a room 714 for the first two evenings and then moved to the room they had paid for. This is not a good practice for any hotel, hoping that you would just put up with the first inferior room they give you and later we spoke to three other couples who had the same treatment. Rina ? the lady in Reception must spend an awful lot of time changing rooms for dissatisfied guests. We were very happy with this room and moved our belongings later in the day. This was an unnecessary inconvenience. The toilet was behind the door and in the move we forgot to take an item, and asked Reception but was told it wasn't found. It was a sealed unopened package and they knew we had moved to the other room. While the Porter was collecting the suitcases we happened to check the narrow drawers concealed under the unit with TV, etc., and found several items in these, so it's a good job we spotted them !!! The first room had a very narrow bath with an old shower attachment sticking out several inches meaning you had about one foot to manoeuvre inside the sloping sides making it quite dangerous as there was no non slip bath mat inside. Some of the tiles in the bathroom were cracked and there was mould in the grouting. There was no storage space, except a narrow glass shelf but there were lots of those ubiquitous little plastic bottles for shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion, if you are lucky, which are so thick you can't get all the contents out and are environmentally unfriendly and costly to Hotels. No beach towels which we understood should be in the rooms upon arrival. On their own website the room shown as a Standard Double/Twin has a sea view. We met people who had booked a standard and yet had a sea view, unlike us who paid for a sea view and got what we saw the next morning in daylight was the corner room by the Champagne bar and entrance to the Lounge with a ramp and steps a couple of feet from our glass balcony. This busy entrance was in constant use during the day and night. In a corner of the balcony was a used glass which looked like it had Pina Colada still inside it. We mentioned this but it was still there when we finally vacated the room. We had to keep the curtains closed which made it even darker being in the Naughty Corner. We don't like air conditioning and heard a throbbing noise and upon inspection the next morning we saw what was a noisy generator underneath us. There were just five coat hangers, all of which were not the hotels but obviously what people had left, some from UK clothing companies. Another reason to suspect this had been used as a courtesy room, which often from experience are the worst rooms the hotel have. We have given four stars instead of five because of this problem. However, the vast choice of Restaurants in which to dine every night - if you book via App or Reception - with a choice of good quality food in pleasant surroundings, helpful cheerful staff who are doing a great job in the heat of the Greek sun always wearing a face mask and plastic gloves in some places made up for this setback. A big bonus is the saltwater 50 metre swimming pool in which we could always spend about an hour doing long lengths with few guests in it for long, possible due to the fact that it was so cold. We stayed round this pool in an area round the side as often this was the only place left, as we saw guests putting towels on sunbeds even before 8.00 am when the pool opened. The towels never moved all day. Sadly, if you get people doing this everyone has to. Altin the Lifeguard was on duty, looking out and always cheerful. We like to stay out until later and used to see Elias working hard putting all the sunbeds back in place ready for the next day. The tiny beach area was absolutely wedged when we were there for two weeks in late September. From our second room we watched people hurrying down to place their towels before going to breakfast. Surprising how they managed to find them amongst the crowded sunbeds and shades, unless their belongings were placed on them. What amazed us was the quality and variety of the fresh pastries on offer in the cold cabinet by the Grill, served with a smile from the gentleman there. Cappuccinos and Alcoholic coffees were available at the bar, and the drinks were varied. We preferred the Mediterranean Restaurant with its linen tablecloths and position inside having tried the others. We also liked the Greek Meze as the food suited one of us being Vegetarian. We had some lunches in the Basilico with the self service and hot food. This is situated adjacent to the beach area, as is the Meze, and on one occasion there was about a dozen items of litter, including serviettes and plastic gloves whirling about on the floor. We told a waiter twice who just looked at us but due to Covid we didn't want to pick the plastic gloves up - to prevent them blowing into the sea. We spotted the Glove Fish and the Mask Fish floating in the sea near the large pool, together with what looked like black oil on the surface in the rock pools. This was mentioned to an attendant who said the Management were aware. We booked the upstairs (Arun or Teppanaki ?) for 8.30 pm as it is two sittings, and got seated around 9 pm then a very long wait among courses, with most of the food suitable for meat eaters, served by just one lady. All the food in each course came at the same time and was dished out individually which took some time. We were so fed up well after 10.00 am (one of us hardly eating anything due to the very limited menu) that we left before the deserts arrived, as did several others, leaving the deserts sitting on the tray. We cancelled the downstairs because most of the seats were high chairs adjacent to the hot cooking taking place, with flames shooting up. On one occasion a party of two families with two babies and young children were in one of the restaurants and the noise was awful; the babies screamed while the parents just sat there and the two little girls ran around screaming also. Eventually when they left the table and floor was covered in food. The next evening we went to a different restaurant and there they were again. We asked to sit well away. This was late in the evening. The next morning they were in the Buffet. Just a few people can make or break a holiday. The Buffet restaurant had an excellent choice of food with a separate area for Vegans and there was some very nice hot dishes there occasionally. One evening we booked the inside restaurant (Grill or Charruso) but didnt realise that the menu was mostly grilled meat, and as one of us doesn't eat meat we went to the buffet instead. The Peruvian Miaflores Restaurant had just opened and we had a meal in there but found it confusing as to what we could order for each course as it was difficult to understand the waitresses. One of us asked for a salad without the Duck but was told it wasn't possible, but eventually it did appear. Several items were unavailable and unless you eat meat this is not the best place to eat. One of us had mushrooms and the other had the three meat starters. There was entertainment each evening but because all the seats were taken by early Diners we seldom got to see much of it, but we could hear it from the inside bar. It was never acknowledged that it was our 50th Wedding Anniversary but we did get a bottle of wine along with some fruit left in our room one evening, although other guests seemed to get this also. One morning the chambermaids came into the room to strip the bed. We had noticed a large blood stain on one side of the mattress protector and hadn't mentioned this due to the problem with the previous room. We asked them to provide a new mattress protector and when this was removed the mattress was heavily stained so we pointed this out and asked that it be cleaned or changed and a supervisor appeared, after a lot of words, mostly in Greek which we didn't understand a man arrived and a new mattress was brought in. This is not the first time we have had this problem in a hotel. It's not surprising given the amount of food and drink some guests consume at an all inclusive but when you find that after several nights you have been sleeping on a dirty mattress it is a very unpleasant feeling. Chambermaids see that a mattress has been soiled so why do they put a clean protector and sheet on top of it for the next guests ? Very bad Hotel practice. It makes us feel like inspecting the mattress as soon as we arrive even though the sheets are clean. The beds here were very comfortable. We saw a couple who had just arrived and Rina rushed out to greet them. They were obviously Repeaters and were given a great welcome. We realise that there are many Repeaters at this Hotel, and we have been to one Hotel in the Caribbean twenty times but due to the 'hit and miss' room allocation we daren't risk it again - unless we just booked a Standard Room (with sea view thrown in).

Our visit in August exceeded our expectations and to come again in October I have to say it was even better due to the 2 new dining experiences - absolutely amazing! The staff are so hard working and friendly. I couldn’t fault the hotel in any way, We will definitely be back next year. Haven’t had food like this in any other all inclusive hotel we have been to.

We got a bungalow which was cozy. Everything was well organised. We had two electrical breakdowns during our stay. Both were caused because there was a fire on the island and they lasted a few hours. The staff handled it as best as they could. It was a little annoying that you had to go to the reception to get water. We had a relaxing few days.
