We spent 4 nights in the Leelawadee 3 bedroom pool villa with our two teenagers. The staff were very friendly and the villa was very private and secluded, as advertised, with beautiful views and lovely clean pool. The outdoor spa was not that great, so we did not use it. The rooms are positioned adjoining a lovely long outdoor balcony area. There is no interior connection between the main room and the kids rooms so we were lucky our kids were old enough to be on their own overnight. Not recommended for families with young children at all. The main bathroom ensuite is a bit strange and nothing as nice as the pictures look. The bath (which looks luxurious in the images) was not very clean with dirt and bugs and the shower came hot and cold intermittently. We had just stayed a week in the luxury of Santiburi (a 5 star resort in the north of the island) so Sandalwood, although nice enough, was a step down. They advertise it as 5 stars but it is closer to 3 stars. The villas are up a very steep hill. Many taxis and tour operators will not go up it and you probably do not want to walk up it. Sandalwood offers free transport up and down the hill with their own friendly drivers between 8am and 5pm and they are very available and helpful. We ate in the restaurant two nights and the food was good - they close at 8pm and we were the only ones there. We had breakfast delivered to our room one morning, which was ok. Highly recommend a trip down to Vikasa Life Cafe for breakfast which was delicious. The Whats App they use for communication is very useful and staff are responsive to your needs between 8am and 8pm. The beds were comfortable; however mattresses were old are in need of replacing. The thing that makes this place is the view - if you can put up with things not being necessarily luxurious and a little outdated, and not being able to walk to other restaurants or attractions (thus relying on organising drivers), then it is worth a few days stay just for the friendly staff. scenery and peacefulness.

A really nice set of Villas which live up to the photos on the website. A couple of pointers that we felt people should be aware of if they have not been here before. 1) The Villas are quite high up a very steep hill therefore the only way to get anywhere is by car/taxi organised by the Villas. 2) The food options are limited but we used the food panda app (similar to uber eats) and that worked well. That being said this would not deter me from visiting again, the service was exemplary and the Villas lived up to our hopes.

Stayed three nights in this beautiful villa and woke up each day to spectacular views of the ocean. The resort itself was clean and well maintained. The villas were spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated. A bit far from the Central area of Samui, transportatiin could easily be arranged with the front desk. The heart of the place, I believe, lies in its staff who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. From front desk, to drivers, restaurant staff, maintainance and housekeeping- everyone was friendly, polite and very accommodating. Thank you very much for a memorable stay!

We splurged and booked a 3 bedroom villa with a private pool for 5 nights. Villas are up a steep mountain so transfers are available for a cost to chaweng, bophut, lamai etc. Reception closes at 8pm but they have a freelance driver who you can message for night time pickups and you pay him directly. Generous supply of bottled water daily, wifi could be a bit better but otherwise what a beautiful place to wake up to every day. It is away from any of the shops or restaurants so factor this in as you will need transfers as the steep mountain would be hard to walk. Staff are lovely and friendly. Really loved our stay.

The hotel staff were simply amazing. We had an incident where we had left a substantial amount of money in the safe, along with passports and had left the hotel only to be called and promptly returned with everything intact. The rooms and food were excellent and the view from the bed was delicious.

These villas offer stunning views but have to say I was disappointed with the room and service. The service towards the end of my stay was better, but I think if they advertise as a 5 star they really need to improve on a couple of things. Shower did not have hot water. They said they would send someone next day, and yet I still did not have hot water although there is an outside spa bath that I can use. They did not enquire back and ask if it was working and was just left it. Also the transport that they say they offered, was not really the case. You have to be reliant on a car as the villas are up a very very steep hill and can only get there by car. When I did phone and ask for transport to come back from the town, I was told to rather take a taxi, and I had been walking in the pouring rain. The beach that they said we could use at the bottom of the hill is not the greatest. My hot breakfast had been served cold on a stale bun. Just to many things to make it an overall pleasant stay.

From check in to check out everything was perfect. People there are very friendly and do everything to make your stay unforgettable. We had a Villa with private pool which is the perfect hide away for couples. The view is stunning and shows different colors from morning to evening. Beaches and restaurants are within 10 - 20 min drive. We will come back 😎

I stayed here for 10 days and absolutely loved my stay. My pool villa was comfortable, clean, spacious and the private sun deck and pool were perfect. The views are amazing and the owner & staff are more than helpful with all requests. It is easy enough to organize a ride into town and get anywhere you want to go. Food is tasty and room service is easy. Highly recommend!

Stunning views and great hospitality. A bit secluded from the main beaches, so ideal for those seeking privacy and exclusivity. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They provide daily shuttle service to nearby beaches which is an excellent add on service. The views overlooking the ocean makes the stay worthwhile.
