The good. Great location, very polite and helpful staff. The not so good. Over crowded, you won't get a sunbed if you're not up early and they are full up. Rooms are dated and breakfast choice is poor. Mosquito paradise, not the hotels fault but maybe cutting back some foliage would help. Overall will suit some people perfectly , unfortunately not us.

In search of a quieter place after spending two nights in Chaweng, we came across The Hive Resort in Lamai Beach, nestled off the main strip in the most beautiful jungle-like setting on the beach. The room smelled wonderful when we arrived and the surroundings felt as if we had landed in a botanical greenhouse! The reception was so kind, allowing us to use their facilities such as the pool while they readied our room. The restaurant food was deliciously authentic Thai and Western and their breakfast (included in the room price) was spectacular! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Phyo, the staff member at reception who helped us print out a few business documents. As digital nomads, we highly recommend The Hive Resort for its infrastructure (fast Internet everywhere, with outlets directly oceanside in the restaurant), its wonderful staff, food, and close proximity to the nightlife without the noise!…

The hotel is on the Lamai beach and it has a pool. Sun beds are around the pool. Beach is clean and the sand is soft, no pebbles and little shells. The rooms are in good size in a beautiful garden. The hotel is close to the restaurants and 7/11. Breakfast is good but without cheese. Open until 10.30.

We recently held an event there with 140 visitors from all over the world and The Hive performed magnificently! The rooms are bright and airy with AC and Wi-Fi and the food was excellent, hot and plentiful! The Hive is centrally located in the central of Lamai, it has a Pool and you can stroll along the beach to a variety of Bars and Restaurant's.

Really Nice accommodation in Lamai, Koh Samui. The Bungalows are bright, clean, quiet and with enough space. Staff ist really helpful and I liked that they seemed to have a lot of fun working. They were always very friendly and welcoming. The beach is pretty nice, so is the pool area and the view is just amazing. The Hive Restaurant is also very good! No matter what we ordered from the menu - everything was just delicious. Although it seems completely quiet at the hotel area - restaurant, bars and shopping opportunities are just around the corner. Great Place to stay! 👍

This was our third stay here at The Hive. We got a good deal but our room was up the stairs at the back of the hotel some distance to the restaurant and beach. The room was small but comfy with good air con and comfortable bed. Breakfast was the same each day no variation which was a little tedious and the nice cheese and ham were not available as on our last stay possibly to cut costs. Each day there was fried rice, noodles, toast, eggs, fruit, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes croissants, fried potatoes, cornflakes etc. The staff are all very good at this hotel and the room is cleaned each day with fresh towels. The location is excellent on the beach with a small pool on the sea front. I noticed that some of the loungers on the beach were being used by people not resident at this hotel and also people were reserving sun beds on the beach and at the pool at the same time. The hotel seems popular with the younger crowd or families and the bar area plays loud music which is not to everyone’s liking. On the whole the hotel is a little dated but well maintained and certainly worth the price we paid.…

We really enjoyed our stay at the hive. It is close to all restaurants and shops. Has a nice beach front. The breakfast was also really good! Good value for money. Only disappointing thing was the room which had former occupants food in the shelves.

First time staying on Lamai Beach. We absolutely loved it as well as our stay at The Hive. From room to pool to restaurant to beach. Perfect combo The Hive is ideally located bang smack in the middle of Lamai Beach and right on the beach. Restaurants, convenience stores, money changers, atms, market pretty much right there also. Easy Walking distance Right behind resort but couldn't hear traffic or music. Our room was not big but enough room for the two us and had a balcony. They do have larger rooms but of course higher price. We were on 2nd floor. Room 218. Great air-conditioning and serviced daily. Comfy bed and pillows. Such a short walk to the beach and beach restaurant where you have breakfast. The sea is just divine and not ice cold. No rocks here. We did not experience rough sea or high waves. Beach massage on the beach next door or further along. 300 baht. Cant go wrong. Lots of restaurants along the beach at reasonable prices. It is a bit quiet at the moment, but The Hive seemed to have guests every day. We staff were so friendly and accommodating. Nothing a problem. They attended to anything within 10 min. We were sad to leave but will surely be back. Cant beat the price and location.…
