We stayed for 4 nights over the New Year with the first 2 nights in the Sea View Deluxe, and the last two at the beachfront pool villa. The architecture and interior style may not be to everyone’s likings but the room and villa were big and clean. The hotel is divided by a small road with the deluxe wing on the further side. It is a bit of a walk to the restaurant and beach but with all that eating, we could do with some exercise! The beachfront villas are located on the beach wing but 4 villas are right behind the main pool while the other four (Villas 105-108) are on the ‘romantic’ side with less noise and crowds from the main pool. So if you are looking for some privacy, do request for these villas as they are all called beachfront pool villas. The pool at the villa is more of a small jacuzzi pool but nice enough to laze about. Breakfast offers quite a limited variety for a 4 night stay but it is a good selection for what they have. On the third morning, we asked if they had Thai Tea which they did not. But the lady said she will note down the request to tomorrow shopping list, and they had it waiting for us the following day!! Thank you!! One point of concern for me though is that they are not strict on some guests walking the buffet without a mask on (it’s 2020/2021 where Covid cases are again on the rise in Thailand). And with food lying in the open, no lids, I didn’t feel comfortable to take the fresh fruits or salad from the line. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed their fresh, made to order juices and Samui pancake with young coconut, mango and banana. There were little minor things here and there but the staffs counot be more enthusiastic to serve. All in all, we feel that a great holiday comes from great people you have around. And Renaissance Samui was able just to do that for us.…
a nice little place on the beach. if not staying in a villa it is a little walk to the beach. staff in restaurant were great. staff at desk not so much. room was clean spacious and the good comfy renaissance bed you expect. massage was good and the pool was refreshing. price was right so would probably stay again but many other gems on the island to try.
Had a fantastic stay at the Renaissance. Great location, staff and service. Quiet location with good rooms with easy access to dining and the beach. The hotel provides kayak and paddle boards to guests. Highly recommended for a pleasant vacation to Samui!
It’s my return from a long while but staffs always give me warm welcome even though some of them are new and never met. They make me feel like returning home and care in all detail of stay. I got a villa room which size is quite big and super comfort for 2 people. Food here is also good with reasonable price when compare to other 5 stars in the island. It’s a plus that not many other guests so I can privately enjoy hotel’s facilities (especially SUP) and forecast rock during sunset. Definitely will return :)
My husband and I spent three nights at the Renaissance Koh Samui. Compared to the other Marriott properties on the island, it was very reasonably priced, so I was a bit worried as to "why". Well, I need not have worried, because the resort was spectacular from the moment we entered. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the couches in the lobby area. The staff member was wonderful, taking time to explain to us how we needed to adjust our reservation in order to take advantage of a voucher we had purchased. We truly appreciated her time and attention. Then we were shown to our room. The property is quite spread out, so it was a bit of a walk, across the property's bridge. We entered to find the most fabulous room--exactly what we wanted! A glorious view of the water and a spacious balcony with table and chairs. We were so happy we had indeed selected the Renaissance. There are two pools on the property: one lap pool and then an infinity pool. There were very few customers due to Covid 19, so we had the pool and small beach area to ourselves. The hotel has a mixology class every Thursday, so we enjoyed mixing our own cocktail and enjoyed it at a table on the beach. The breakfast was very good--I highly recommend the French toast. There is an a la carte menu as well as some breads and fruit on buffet-style tables. Our favorite meal, though, was the dinner we had at the poolside restaurant on our last evening. A beautiful table on the beach with an attentive staff and delicious food--we highly recommend. The Renaissance is located on the southeastern portion of the island and has its own small beach. It is far away from the more popular (and crowded) beach areas of the north, so maybe that is why the prices were better. Whatever the reason, we enjoyed the relaxation and hospitality of the Renaissance. Every staff member was polite, attentive, and courteous--the perfect example of Thai hospitality. They stood and waved goodbye to us as our cab drove away, making us feel special. We hope we can return again some day. Thank you, Renaissance, for a fantastic room and wonderful long weekend visit.…
