My home for 22 days ...very happy.right on the Laguna that is getting cleaned up,slowly...that’s good. Beside the beach .....and so near everything. Love it..I’m going again one day ...same place ...the restaurant and bar are great too...don’t mind the dinning room waitress with a grumpy face...she does a good job and she also takes care to feed the cats ...
Ok , so let me start by saying that this is a wonderful medium sized 3 star hotel, if you want 4 or 5 star service and facilities, dont bother booking here, it is a 3 STAR!!!! Now for the review, we have in Sep 2017 and Sep 2018 stayed at the this resort, 2017 for 10 nights, we enjoyed it so much, we booked this year for 3 weeks. Now as you can see from my pictures, the rooms we had booked last year, was 201 and this year 301, both the interior on each room are mirror image of each other, and also in terms of size and amenities exactly the same as each other, except the view is unobstructed and patio area larger from room 301. Now im sure you understand, to stay 3 weeks in the same hotel and room, can be a little mundane, but let me re assure you, it wasnt, wonderful view day and night, restaurant and hotel bar right on the beach next to room, breakfast served right on the beach, so with the sun rising in the morning, what a wonderful setting. The breakfast choice is a plenty, along with all liquid refreshments, teas/coffee, fruit juices ,fresh fruit, yoghurts, etc, just what you expect from a 3 star hotel, with attentative staff who smile all morning long. Once breakfast is finished, the restaurant will then offer a really good menu all day and night to purchase, along with beers wines and spirits, and cocktails, at very reasonable prices. Waiter service also whilst on the sun loungers, and there is also a watersports outlet in front , to right of the hotel on the beach where you can do all the main watersports, with friendly vendors, that wont rip you off, unlike some other places in thailand. The hotel grounds are very well kept, and clean, the grounds staff are hard working, and strive throughout the day to keep all the areas clean and presentable, with a friendly smile. The chamber maids and cleaners, well they are really nice and friendly, will do anything for you, even come back to your room to clean and make it up in the afternoon, as me and my wife had many a late night and did not surface untill the afternoon sometimes. I cant remember the name of our cleaner, but she took a keen intrest into some injuries i had suffered and my wifes sunburn, and of her own back, brought some pure fresh aloe vera leaves and home remedies, for us to use, and heal quicker, what a wonderful gesture. The pool is a smallish size pool in comparison to others, but is very nice, and as the sun moves over during the day, it become a really nice suntrap. There are some reviews slating the rooms in the main building away from the beach, but hey, this aint the Ritz, but it aint the pits, and if there is any issue, your matters are dealt with with the best of service, granted the hotel can look a bit tired, and would benefit with a cosmetic upgrade in places, but once again, it still dont make you feel as though you are in a rundown hotel, far from it. I mean really if i can Sum the hotel up, really good location, really nice staff and service, food is nice, bungalows and beach front rooms are spot on, really good rates on the rooms, outstanding service, any excursions, rentals, advice can be arranged with front of house reception, no problems what so ever. A huge thank you to Janya and her staff for making both our stay very welcoming and memorable, and i would not hesitate recommending the hotel, i personally did not find any faults on both our stays, and would be more than happy to answer any questions on the hotel and Lamai itself for anyone. We are returning next year for another 3 weeks in September, and will be looking forward to our return to room 301. Khob khun Krab Khun , Andrew Spencer…
We spent 3 weeks at Laguna and loved it all. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful and clean, with lovely clear water. Pool also good. Plenty of friendly restaurants and bars on the doorstep yet resort very quiet. Terrific walking street market every Sunday night and cheap food at local market every day.
Booked some nights with my girlfriend. Beds had stains of lipstick and the housekeeping just flipped over the pillows and covered them up. Was a very moldy room I couldn't even stay inside because I'm allergic to mold and dustmites. The first room we got was pretty bad, it had no balcony and I asked to see another room. We got a room but the furnature on the balcony was plastic chairs that were covered in a black dirt it was very concerning. Don't bother staying here, obviously they have no interest in upgrading there facility. There reply this message will probably go something like this "I'm sorry for your inconvenience, next time we will better help you blah blah blah." It means nothing. They need to just tear this place down and get new management.
