The location is fantastic on the headland overlooking Lamai Beach/bay. The resort was peaceful and the food was excellent. The pool was great lots of loungers and a good size, fantastic view. The private beach was great again lots of loungers. I highly recommend the massage on the beach a real highlight of the holiday, I got oil and Thai for an hour. I think the best massage I’ve ever had and I’ve had a fair few!!
We booked a sea view cottage as we had been here 5 years ago and had one then so we were pretty excited. Arrived and got told we had been “upgraded”, unfortunately it wasn’t much of an upgrade to us, they wanted to put us in a bigger cottage at the back next to the busy road with no sea view. I complained while she was showing us our “upgraded” room. So got put in a cottage with a sea view for the first 4 nights, then moved after that into another room, that had a bit of a view. The double bed in the second cottage was very hard and uncomfortable so I unfortunately had to sleep on the spare single bed as there was no way I could sleep on that rock hard mattress. So my fiancé and I slept separate as he couldn’t fit on the single bed with me. The staff were real friendly in the beginning but the longer we stayed the less friendlier they got. Room cleaned everyday even if you put your do not disturb sign up! Free Wifi but it’s very temperamental. There’s free water everyday and a useable safe in your room. The breakfast Buffet was the same everyday, hot food (bacon, eggs etc) and cereals, tea, coffee etc. It was good enough. The evening and lunch meals were very average, ordered a burger one lunchtime it came out undercooked and when sent back to recook they sent it out with the cold chips which were on my plate when sent back to the kitchen. Only got offered a cocktail at happy hour price and they really didn’t seem to care. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and gave them another go one lunchtime, and the cocktails that came out were not what we ordered and my partners seafood spicy fried was disgusting. Complained about the cocktails and got shrugged at and got 15% discount of the uneaten seafood mess. I had a sandwich only and my stomach wasn’t so good the next day. Rather stay away from the restaurant. The pool area is nice and relaxing but the tiles are chipped up in the pool. Quite disappointing visit this time and wouldn’t recommend. …
Great view, lovely breakfast. I love the moments we enjoyed the time at restaurant with the spectacular view. Just be sure to not book the small cottages, they are uncomfortably small with very uncomfortable beds and extremely slippery floors and nonadjustable small and slippery bathrooms. Basically cottage number 115 I was provided was slightly slanted towards right, it was extremely awkward but that allowed us not to spend any time in the cottage and explore outside which is not too bad too. But I really wish the cottage was welcoming enough to let us sit in the balcony and enjoy the lovely view. If I have to stay in the same cottage again, I'd never want to go back here.
Booked for 7 nights, 10 months in advance for a cottage & then paid extra again for an upgrade prior to travelling so they knew we were coming & what was required. Was given an old cottage up the back next to the noisey main road with limited views & had limited sleep the entire week! Not what we had booked or expected! Then was offered an alternative for an additional 500THB per night when we had already paid extra to start with - BEWARE!! Have photos of the 'old cottage' with broken front door & locks, broken worn out furniture, broken roof, mouldy fridge, waste bin that was not emptied from previous 'guests' & we had no hot water to shower two mornings in a row. Everything seemed to be overcharged from the hotel arranged taxi in from the airport (700 THB) which we later found you could acquire for 500THB to the motor scooter hire which was 100THB cheaper just 50m down the road at 'GOLD' (very nice people to deal with & great scooters). Due to this over charging we did not use the restaurant in order to save money, instead we frequented a great little place just at the junction of the main road called 'KUNG NANG' this was fantastic! However our lack of patronisation at the 'Resort' seemed to be frowned upon & we feel that we were not treated so friendly due to this! As said - dissapointing!…
Stayed for 4 nights in a "beachfront" room. On arrival we asked to move and our room was not beachfront as we had paid for, in fact, they stated the first two rows of rooms are specified as beachfront, however, the second rows views were blocked by the first row. It wasnt the cleanest of rooms, could do with a refurb. The view once moved was nice and the beach was nice. It was quiet season, so wasnt busy, in fact, no one was seen eating in the restaurant which put us off due to no atmosphere, however the lunch when we did eat there was poor anyway so we were happy to venture out to eat. Theres a great little restaurant where the prices and quality of food were much better, "the new hut" which is about 15 minute walk along the beach. You're looking at a half hour walk to get into Lamai centre along the beach, so we got taxis, which weren't the cheapest. Free Kayaking was a bonus, and probably the only positive thing about the hotel. Checked out early in the morning when only the security guard was on duty. I was told he would return my key deposit however he was unaware and had no money on him. He did however find some from someone eventually. The barman also never returned change from an order I placed on the last day. It wasnt alot, but it's the principle of not returning money to guests. Overall, not a great hotel, wouldn't go back, and wouldn't recommend, stay somewhere closer to the Lamai centre.…
