We arrived here at 5pm after a 36 hour trip to Ko Samui. The Bungalows are basically a bait-and-switch to get people to upgrade to an ฿800 more spacious room. This place is located on the "other" side of the main street in Lamai, so it is FAR away from the beach and dangerous for children to stay here. The Absentee-Owner now lives in Houston, Texas USA so there is no way to appeal a decision and no wiggle room with policy. In the end the manager wouldn't let us stay with our kids even though we had prepaid our Bungalow in advance for two days. The manager was super nice, gave my son a toy and had her brother use his truck to give us a ride to our back-up Bungalow. We ended up staying in a Bungalow that was bigger, on the beach, with hot water, with great Internet in a much better location so I am so glad we moved. The manager was just following her bosses orders, but I would never recommend anybody stay here.

This is a basic bungalow. Cold shower and basic Thai-toilette. Only fan can make the room very hot, but staff do room service and changes sheets often. Bungalow is very close to beach and tourist street. Despite this its very quiet. Love the little terrace with chairs where you can hang out after a day on the beach. Nice flowers around the bungalows.

Great low-cost bungalows located in a well-mantained green garden. Cleanness, friendly staff, bi-daily cleaning and absence of omnipresent noise (it’s incredibly quite there) made our stay in Samui very enjoyable. Do not expect much luxury if you choose bungalows.

I’m rating this place a 1, to offset the delirium that has clearly taken hold of so many reviewers here. Yes, for $10 per night, it’s okay. But there’s a lot wrong with this place too. At best, this might be a 3-point option for Trip Advisor fans. For starters, the bungalows are old and badly in need of repair. There’s no hot water. The mattress is as hard as a sheet of plywood. There’s electric, but you can’t use it for charging your phone or battery. There’s wi-fi, but it only works sometimes. The saving grace here is that it’s cheap, and the location near Lamai beach is pretty good compared to many others. There’s plenty of restaurants but the beach chairs are often only available for hotel occupants directly on the beach.

We spent 17 days in Thailand mostly in backpacker hostels and eventually this was the cheapest AND the nicest stay that we had. Bungalows are very clean and they clean them every second day. Location is really great (very close to Lamai beach, 7 eleven and other shops). I can say only the best about the owner/administrator, she was super nice and helpful and when we had too loud neighbours she kindly offered us another bungalow. This was the hostel where we really felt that the people care about you and your time there. Thank you very much!

Not the Ritz, but what do you want for £50 a week.. Warm welcome from an excellent staff.. Plenty of entertainment on your doorstep. Visit the Shamrock bar they have a great rock group & the staff are friendly with reasonable prices. Be there in again in May...."KO SAMUI BABY"
