The beach is beautiful and overall the whole place has potential but the service is really bad or non existent, very rude employees, bad food and no hygiene, especially now with Covid situation. Room cleaning and towel changing was scheduled every three days, not even empty the trash bins before. Personally, I won't come back.
We were staying here as a family with 5 y.o. kid. Place is very beautiful, cozy, right on the beach. Can enjouy the sea view all day long, which is extremely nice. Relaxing atmosphere, light music, infinity swimming pool, plenty of seats and beds around. I was enjoying every minute there. Breakfast and dinner were ok, i am not demanding in that. Small playground for kids was also useful for us. And swings, and ping pong tables. You need to rent a car for exploring places around, no other transportation around, except free hotel transfer to Nea Stira 4 times a day. Hotel beach is so and so, many stones and some plants on the bottom, hard to get in. And west side of Evia was quite windy and water colder than anywhere else in Greece, but we found very nice beach on opposite side in Agioi Apostoli - no wind and warmer water. About 40 min drive. In overall i liked my holidays very much, and Venus Beach was like half of impact to that. If the beach was like in Agii Apostoli there, i would stay there all days long :-)…
Really nice venue. Nice location. Amazing view! Retro hotel, although big, it does not become indivisible in bars and restaurants. On the negative I think it could have a better renovation and space utilization. We were staying in one room, 2 adults and 2 children, just as fit. Its bathrooms want significant improvement. And the food could be much better. Overall a beautiful hotel that has remained stable without evolving over time.
The hotel is really good. It’s build on a slope, so not accessible for those who cannot climb/walk stairs. The view is phenomenal!!! The hotel is very clean. Also public bathrooms! Good and friendly staff. Breakfast is doable but little variation, but oke for the price. We didn’t have half board because in Greece you can eat for about 10-15€ in a good restaurant. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty poor. A little Greek cuisine and half is precooked or arrives frozen. A few things are fresh. The WiFi, oh wait... that was almost non existante. There are 4 or 5 WiFi spots, but you either can’t access/login and if you are lucky you manage, it just doesn’t work. Being in 2019 this is a ridiculous. All over it’s a good hotel, but make sure you have a car and don’t expect WiFi working…
Really disappointing! First the hotel is just bungalows, and the only nice thing is if the bungalow is just near the sea, otherwise the garden view is not good opportunity. For the category is very expencive!!The rooms are old fashioned and not very clear!the restaurant is really poor, the don't keep it very good, there is nothing to eat, no choice of fish and sea food. The breakfast is very poor. The nature is beautiful! If you decide this hotel, don't expect too much!
It is the first time I am writing a comment for a hotel but I realised it really helps when choosing hotels. The hotel is in a very nice place with 3 beaches to choose from. The pool is great and also the rooms. The room we stayed was really comfortable and the balcony view and space was the best part. The gardens are nice too but be warn if you are afraid of insects. Parking is also good. Now to the cons: WIFI is not working! Seriously, they have 3-4 wifi addresses to choose from and none, none is working good. That's a huge problem. Now food. We booked both breakfast and dinner. There is good variety and especially at dinner, there are different dishes every night except some salad products. Although we stuffed ourselves, I can't but comment that the quality was mediocre. Bacon in the mornings was almost raw every time, french coffee was bad and some trays with cheese were half empty at the begining of breakfast time. It is normal to keep some food for the next day but at least do not show it like that. Also, during dinner some juices or beer could be served and not just plain water for free. The pool bar has good prices when it comes to food and cocktails although they are certainly not professionally done. All in all, we stayed 5 nights and for such a holiday duration it is a nice hotel. As a greek, knowing taxi rates in athens and in general, be careful if you do not have a car or be part of a group trip. As i noticed the taxi prices for the area, they are OVERLY priced. And you certainly need a vehicle for this hotel, the closest area is 2 km away.…
We arrived in the middle of the night and the place looked empty. Next morning we were positively surprised at the breakfast that the hotel was almost fullbooked by older people from Germany. The food at the breakfast and dinner was very good. We could choose from several options, and everything was delicious. The staff at the hotel was friendly and professional. We thought they were almost like a big family which we were visiting for a while. The rooms were very clean. The beach was nice, and the area around the pool was cosy. So if you are looking for a relaxing, cosy and quiet place to stay, this is it. Only 20 minutes walk to Nea Styra, a small cute village.
Amazing sunset! The hotel is located on the beach, a separated bay! Greek island-style decoration! Friendly and willing staff! Apart from the main beach there is also a small hidden separated beach! Ask for it! Excellent greek tradittional food! Beach bar open till late! Parking available! Ideal for every kind of traveller (families, friends, solo)! Place controlled by guardian 24 hours/day. For everything you will need ask for Evi at the reception! She is the heart of the hotel! For all these reasons I visit Venus Beach Hotel very often!
Ok. We were mixed on this hotel. Firstly you have to consider that in the area most of the hotels are very low level and cheap/nasty. Anyway, this hotel had some nice good points but the bad ones were inexcusable as they can be easily fixed if someone tried. Firstly the good, the pool was excellent, the beach and effort the owners had gone to with making beautiful beach beds and huts was great (although many needed minor repairs), the rooms had a pleasant view etc. Now the bad. The Internet is horrific, at the pool I couldnt get wifi working well, neither in the room, it was impossible so I switched to 4g. In 2018 there is no excuse for this, it is either laziness, apathy or greed. Secondly service. It was non-existent. One waiter/waitress for the whole pool and bar and beach area. Obviously the owners were very tight with money to have only one waiter. We waited for an hour, then went to the bar and felt like we were disturbing them. It did depend on the people on duty, some days they were better. Lastly WASPS!. Everywhere. They just need to fumigate the place in winter/early spring to fix this. The wasps were a menace around the pool and were living in the roof of the hut at end of the pool. I could not relax. The service in the restaurant was also terrible. We waited for a moody, stone faced woman to come out. She had zero warmth. Customer service should be taught to the staff. The only person who I saw smiling was the receptionist once. It was a shame as this hotel has a great location and pool. The potential to be much better is there. The problems can all be easily fixed with staff training, upgrading the routers and calling pest control. The breakfast was average. Cheap 1 euro cold meats and cheeses, omelette and cheap little sausages. Watery coffee. They are watching money too much. The hotel had many customers so this is just pure greed. Lots of Russian and German guests on package deals. Some local Greeks were visiting the pool, leaving towels on the beds and staying on the beach also to take space, very selfish and no-one stopping them or managing things. Again staff training urgently needed. A warm smile can make someones day at times.…
At a short distance from Athens this resort hotel has a lot of bungalows with sea view, free parking, bar, playground, ping pong tables and a big clean pool. I must not forget the organised beach with a blue flag (but a little difficult due to the rocks at the bottom) and nice beach furniture. The breakfast is very rich and tastefull. I generally suggest this hotel as a value for money summer island resort.
