Porto Katapola Pension and its rooms, sits perfectly on the beach road of Katapola, just 5m from the sea, with a stunning view from our balconies to the beautiful natural bay of the village as well as to our garden and the beautiful rural fileds surrounding the property.Attention to every detail, an intimate approach to each and everyone of our guests and instinctive hospitality are just some of our attributes that make us special.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Porto Katapola Pension is situated at the port of Katapola. We stayed in the double room with seaview - it is a spacious and clean room with a balcony that offers beautiful views towards the port and the rest of Katapola. John (Yannis) was an outstanding host. He was very polite, helpful and attentative to all our requests. He immediately made us feel very welcome to his property. The room is well priced for what it offers and we can strongly recommend it to fellow travellers.

Our second stay at this wonderful pension and just as good as the first, even though I was ill!! Giannis is simply wonderful and looks after you discretely but exceptionally well with gifts and help if needed. The views and location of the front rooms just cannot be beaten. This time we stayed in the end studio which was slightly larger inside and out than the middle one we stayed in last time and got the sun a little earlier from about 9am on the wonderful balcony - a big plus for us as we spent hours sitting enjoying the views and watching the world go by. Its a great spot for watching the comings and goings of this busy little port. The location is perfect as it is right in the heart of the village but it is still quiet and relaxed. The studio was spotless and is fantastic value for money. It has great air con, shower, lots of mugs, plates and cutlery, a kettle and fridge - everything we need. The rear rooms were being renovated when we were there but there was no noise from this and we look forward to seeing what has been done on our next visit. We rarely revisit places but we absolutely love this pension and Katapola and cannot wait until our next visit which will without doubt be for longer as this is one of our favourite spots in the many Greek islands we have visited. Highly recommended.

What a pleasure to stay in the family home at Porto Katapola! The house is situated perfectly in a private, quiet and lush garden and in walking distance of just one or two minutes from the port. We were two couples travelling together and the house and its surroundings provided all the space we needed - and even more. We enjoyed the opportunity to dispose of the three(!) different terraces around the house: Breakfast at the most shady terrace in the morning, "work station" at the other terrace under the old tree and the beautiful bougainville, and finally evening drinks accompanied by stargazing and ferryspotting on the upper balcony of the house - what a luxury! The atmosphere of the family home is just... homely. It is cozy, clean and comfortable with attention paid to even the smallest details inside and outside the house. Giannis is in every sense a gracious host: So helpful, attentive and accomodating. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

This hotel is a great place to stay on Amorgos. It is conveniently located near the port. We had a room on the back, overlooking a garden. It was very quiet even though it was less than 100 ft. from the port. The bed was fantastic. We told Giannis, the owner, that we wish we could strap the bed to our backs and carry it throughout the islands. Giannis recommended a great place to eat, Youkali. We will certainly stay with him the next time we visit.

First time at this wonderful pension.The location for starters was great,you can't miss it,at the center of Katapola but simultaneously calm and quiet.The rooms are extremely clean,spacious and neat,feels like they are brand new. On the back,there is a nice backyard,nice touch.As for the host,what can I say about John:Super kind,super professional,discrete but whenever we asked,came up with the best ideas and suggestions for restaurants,beaches and little daily tours that made our stay better! We came here after seeing the great reviews and we are very happy we did so. The port view from our room was spectacular, there are good restaurants and amenities close by, the room was nice and clean, the owner, Giannis, was super helpful and gave us excellent tips for restaurants, beaches, places to see, etc. He runs the place with a smile and made us feel part of the small Katapola community for a week :) If you are considering Katapola vs. Aegiali make yourself a favour and stay here, as your drive to the cool Chora and Kato meria beaches will be a lot shorter. Excellent accommodation! The rooms are beautiful, renovated and clean. The sea view from the rooms is awesome, we enjoyed our balcony so much! Katapola is the best choice to stay at the island - beautiful, not crowded and next to the sea. The pension is also located very close to the port which was very convenient. We were more than satisfied by the hole experience and we already plan to visit next year!! Fully recommended!

Stayed for a few nights in July 2016 and it was fabulous - the highlight of our trip. Amazing location with a lovely terrace that you could people watch to your hearts content. The studio was spotlessly clean and the terrace must be the best in Katapola. Restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets all steps from the studios. Although there is no cooking facilities, there are an abundance of plates mugs glasses and cuttlery. We were incredibly well looked after and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable few days. You must get a sea view - it is spectacular

We had a lovely room, with a balcony overlooking the harbour. Room was spotlessly clean, with linen changed every couple of days. Giannis was a fabulous host - from the little welcome pack when we arrived, to recommendations for restaurants, places to go and helping us hire a car. He even bought us an anniversary present. Nothing was too much trouble for him - he was a kind and generous host. I hope one day we will come back to Amorgos and if so this is definitely where we will stay. Highly recommended.
