Elia Hotel is an excellent base to stay when exploring western Crete. Jo and her wonderful staff put you at ease as soon as you arrive. They are welcoming and you feel like a guest in their house. We stayed in a superior room with bath and I would highly recommend this as you have a little more privacy. The... More

An upmarket, but not blingy hotel set in the middle of an olive grove well away from all noise etc. Staff wonderful, you feel cosseted, nothing too much trouble. Taki, the wonderful chef prepares a different 3 course meal each night (apart from Mondays when Jo the Manager steps up!). No choice but you will be asked at breakfast if... More

We loved staying at Elia. The setting is rural and relaxed. The staff is warm and very child-friendly. We enjoyed the pool facilities and the breakfast. We were accommodated in the villa which was great. There was ample space for three generations; we were able to have meals delivered from the hotel; the house was regularly serviced and the facilities... More

We stayed in the Elia Hotel's Villa Elanthi, which is a private 3 bedroom house separate from the main hotel complex. We were very well looked after by the team at Elia - they are very friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to be helpful. We have a small baby and several times she was uplifted from us... This is a fantastic place to relax and unwind. An easy drive from Chania airport to a beautiful, tranquil location in the hills. It captures the magic of Crete with views over the coastal plain, the mountains and olive groves with wonderful sunsets. Local walks, stunning Sirikari and Deliana Gorges and the beaches of north west Crete are easy to... More

We spent 2 weeks touring round western Crete with 5 different places to stay and Elia was our number 1 having spent 2 nights there. Quietly hidden away in the hills with views to the coast it offers so much to savour. Just the 9 rooms so no crowds. Ours was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the cool... This is the perfect place for rest, relaxation & if you want to, exploration. The hotel staff are truly lovely. Beautiful location with easy access to the coast, villages & hills of North West Crete. We particularly enjoyed eating spinach pie for breakfast!!

This is a perfect hideaway, with everything you might need on site, but easy enough to explore the rest of Crete from here. Breakfast was a great combination of local food - nuts, fruit, greek yoghurt and honey with good bread and tea and coffee. The wonderful Jo, who runs Elia, makes it clear that it's more than ok to... Just an amazing, small, beautiful hotel (only 9 rooms in a converted farmhouse which was the hq for the Cretan resistance in WW2) in the midst of Western Crete's wonderful landscape. The hotel staff treat you as a member of the family and the food cooked primarily by Taki is in my humble opinion (having travelled all over Greece for... More

We stayed 6 nights at Elia Traditional Inn and after 6 minutes we felt at home. The location, on a hill overlooking olive groves and orange orchards, is stunning. Our room, part of the former stables, was spacious and comfortable, with traditional-style furnishings. Opening the shuttered windows and doors provided cool breezes day and night. No bugs!! Elia is the... More
