Set in what was once the residence of a Roman prince, the hotel is utterly charming. The downstairs is grand, but very true to its history. The rooms are all different and all large and comfortable. We had the use of a kitchen especially for our group - quite useful since there's only one restaurant in the village. And a... More

We had an overnight stay here when driving though Italy. The hotel is a patrican house in the middle of a small medieval village. You can park close by. The staff were all extremely helpful and the room we chose (there were two on offer) was large and beautiful, with a painted ceiling. We also enjoyed a lovely view over... More

We visited Umbria and our last 2 nights were spent at Ca de Principa. We can not rave enough about this place. The rooms were generous, beautiful and air conditioned which is hard to find in Umbria. The best part was the staff. Everyone one was so kind and welcoming to our entire family of six. The chef Salvatore prepared... More

We ended our trip to Umbria in this beautiful former country house of a marquis. It is a ravishing building with frescos and lovely period furniture. Each corner of each floor has a communal sitting area with sofas, tables and chandeliers. We absolutely loved our room with its double aspect view of the countryside, giant carved bedstead and grand ornate... More

We thoroughly recommend a restful and pampered stay at this characterful old charm hotel, formerly the rural palazzo retreat of a noble family. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The rooms and suites were elegant, spotless and very comfortable, with lovely views to the Umbrian hills. We enjoyed some 'Italian Cuisine' cookery lessons and demonstrations, and ate what... More

I have visited Piegaro often and love the town. The Ca de Principi is a old summer home for royalty. Rooms are gorgeous with period furniture. There are new chefs at the hotel and they are great. I believe they have started cooking schools at the hotel and plan on visiting them next month.

Our family and another family (with young children) took a cooking class with their chef Our kids had a great time making sauces and pasta as well as an enjoyable dessert. When we were completed, we had a very delightful dinner on their terrace with the chef visiting us many times. We felt special! Great memory for all involved.

Works can't express what a wonderful experience this was. My wife did the culinary classes and had a blast. The staff make the vacation special. The hotel is definitely off the beaten path however its not so far as to make it difficult to get too. It was so peaceful and quite that my ears "rang" for the first day.... More
