My husband and I have just returned from 4 nights at this hotel and I have to say that the reviews that we read before going where somewhat a little different to our own experience. Of course we have to remember that it is an unusual time so I will try to be as honest as possible. I pride myself on my honest reviews giving praise where applicable. So-here you have it! The hotel is two buildings, not connected with any signature touches so one could be fooled in to thinking it is two separate hotels, which it is as the road runs between both. We opted for the Pelican Beach based on reviews and I have to say it was a good decision so much so that I noticed guests from the Pelican Resort and Spa were using the facilities of our hotel. The hotel is quite remote with no shops and only a few restaurants scattered around. There is one supermarket about 1klm away so a car would really be the best option for this hotel unless you are looking for a very sedate holiday. There is a bus service to Olbia but only runs past the end of the road every 30 mins and the last one back is about 8pm at night. It was 35 euros to get there from the airport by taxi and 40 euros on our return trip. Our room was nice, large and cleaned every day by the friendliest person in the hotel. She was super sweet and efficient and looked after our room without fault. The wifi in the room and the whole hotel was quit frankly-pants! The room had a tv with channels that did not function at best but the shower was nice and the water hot. We were really surprised to find out though that although we had paid extra for the Pelican Beach we were not eligible to sit on the grass at the front of the hotel... We were asked for 50 euros a night for a room with this privilege..Needless to say we declined, complained a little and proceeded to sit on a lounger on the lawn for the remainder of our stay. This I found quite bizarre as the only other place was the small section of private beach that was not that nice. The sea in front of the hotel had a strange smell of bad eggs, so of course I did not snorkel in it at all.... We never found out the reason for that but I guess it does not take a genius to work out what the smell was. We booked breakfast and as we had already been in Italy only two weeks before my husband called the hotel to enquire about the breakfast situation. We were told that the breakfast would operate as normal, buffet style, but to be honest that was not correct. The buffet was behind a screen served by a middle aged unfriendly guy. The selection was very limited and the only egg option was scrambled or very cold hard boiled eggs. Any other egg option was a charge of 5 euro per egg...unbelievable considering this is not a cheap hotel. Porridge and orange juice are also extra. Trying to get a coffee in the morning too was always a challenge, always having to ask two or three times to prompt. We spoke to some other guests about the challenges the hotel is facing and they all agreed that the staff are not happy and unfortunately it reflects on the guests. We have all had a difficult time through Covid 19 but we really expected to be welcomed as paying guests but on the contrary I as a British woman felt unwelcome. So in summary, what would I say?...very expensive hotel with a nice lawn and sea view, average beach and hotel with very unfriendly staff. British woman abroad-look elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect!

What a lovely hotel from the moment I stepped onto the porch and looked at the sea view I was taken aback the staff could not do enough for you and always had a massive smile on their faces even when the wind and rain arrived The food for breakfast was lovely and always had a couple of drinks at happy hour in the bar each day This hotel was the nicest one I stayed in for a long time rooms were lovely and cleans everyday with turn down at nice The hotel is a bit out of the town from all the bars and restaurants but only a short taxi ride in Would highly recommend this hotel

We only stayed a couple of nights. The hotel has 2 parts on opposite sides of the road. We stayed beach side and the view is great. Beach is sandy. Staff and helpful and friendly. A reasonable spread of usual breakfast fare including lovely Italian cakes in the restaurant overlooking the bay. We had a huge room (2) which really was much larger than you would ever need with fridge and drinks making facilities. We didn’t eat lunch/dinner at the hotel but went to a beach bar which you can see from the hotel grounds and to a small bar/restaurant call Bar Bolla which was full of locals and had nice feel. There really isn’t much to do around the immediate vicinity and only a couple of restaurants. The bakery a short walk away towards the main road sell a few basics including water/ice creams etc. The weather was fab and we had a lovely stay but I would hire a car if staying longer to get around a bit unless you like not moving from the hotel.

As a couple we chose this hotel and its location for a peaceful and quiet break away from it all in September. The hotel and location did not dissappoint and we were very lucky with the weather. We had a hire car for the duration of our stay and would recommend others do the same in order to explore the local beaches, restaurants and views. The hotel and its staff were pleasant and we would definitely return. The hotel beach was very pleasant and we spent many hours there.

We enjoyed the hotel, it is nice not having to leave the grounds for much...the staff of the hotel is professional and helpful. Friendly Lifeguard and Bar Staff...The rooms were pretty good compared to the 20-30 other hotels we have visited across Sardinia. The rooms have the coldest AC and are nicely furnished. The resturaunt is not so great, the food is overworked and we avoided eating dinner there after awhile. At breakfast the coffee was lukewarm and the staff never set enough places for the amount of guests so you were made to feel slightly competitive for your table...something that we absolutely hated each morning.
