We stayed at this hotel the first week of July and will definitely return next year.
Staff extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful; a special greeting goes to Mario the shuttle driver!
We did not choose the Full Inn so we can only express ourselves on the breakfast buffet which was really great, plentiful and with a wide choice of food, really for all needs!
Fabulous pool!
Good location, a stone's throw from the wonderful viewpoint of Capo Vaticano
The room where they had placed us was rather spartan and basic but still clean and tidy. The only flaw is that the room overlooked the driveway to the parking lot so the night could happen to hear noise.

Nice clean large swimming pool and always open. Pool bar stocked although the prices are a little high... it should be noted that I was called back by the guy who ran the bar because my swimsuit was wet and I was looking at the ice cream list. But if it's a pool bar how do you expect me to go there??? .rooms in the norm only the bathroom and too old at least in room 236 there is still a curtain in the shower and the whole bathroom flooded every shower tiny sink.. (bathroom to be renovated)..convenient shuttle service but the beach in addition to ask 20 euros for an umbrella and two chairs, there wasn't even a shower to get the sand off you... not even a fountain to wash your feet... average buffet restaurant

I travelled alone, in end of May, beginning of June 2014. This place is safe for single woman.

I would recommend this place to anyone who likes genuine Italian food. They have Italians staying at this hotel, which is always a great sign, The brothers who own this place are wonderful. Before even arriving at the hotel I strained my ancle my first day on my vacation and they asked me if I wanted to see a doctor or go to the pharmacy and they took me there.

They always asked me and the other guests how we were. I would ask them places to go and see and they would recommend the italian places to go and see not the tourist attractions, I would be very clear that I wanted to see how they lived there, I would ask them where they would go and eat and what they would go and see on their time off.

I love to explore the country and culture from the people, not the tourist attractions. I love to walk even with a strained ancle, I walked to the train station from the hotel which took around 10-15 min and went to Rizzo (known for their icecream), Tropea (more of a tourist place), Scilla (amazing houses and beach) and Reggio di Calabria (excellent and very cheap shopping on the Friday market, takes 3 hours with train from Ricado) and if my ancle was not so strained I would have taken the train to Sicily.

From the airport to the hotel I took the bus from airport and the changed and took the train to Ricado, where the hotel came and picked me up, the train ride is awesome plus it costs around 4 Euros for the train 1,50 Euros for the bus.
It is going back in time, nothing like trains at home here in Sweden which are head ahead their time.

The food was fabulous, this is how true Italians eat dinner and lunch. There are other restaurants and hotels in the area that I went to some evenings to eat. The beach is down the hill and takes 10 min max, note I walked with a strained ancle.

Hopefully I will go back there either this year or next year and I would stay at this hotel again.

Their pool are is great to relax and enjoy the sun.

Enjoy your time in Calabria!

Unpleasant experience!
Unfortunately, the services they boast about are not there, not even the basic ones (showers, bathrooms): the beach is only equipped with umbrellas, deckchairs and/or sunbeds, all for a fee; there is no bar... if there hadn't been the possibility of using the services of the beach next door (which isn't a given) I don't know how it would have been done!
The cleanliness of the room leaves much to be desired, the linen is worn.
Compared to other guests, however, despite everything I was lucky to end up in a room in the new building, because those who ended up in the building where the reception is located asked to change rooms because the mattresses were loose and hot water didn't always flow from the shower. shower.
As for the restaurant, it is not à la carte as they write, but a buffet with an already established menu... the dishes which are not homemade, as they say, are of very poor quality and cooked very badly (very similar to a hospital canteen).
What's left over will be replaced for at least another two days!
So....be careful!!!

Rooms without mini-fridge, minimarket with indecent prices, meals must be consumed within an hour, the buffet disappears in a moment, basically they take the plate from under your nose.... you have to eat in a hurry, often you stay without having eaten what you want because they take away the pots.... The drinks in the structure have a price normally tripled, in some cases even quadrupled..... I understand that a small village lives only on tourism but I find everything exaggerated.... conceivable if the service in total was impeccable and satisfactory, but unfortunately it is just the opposite. DELUSIONE!

After days of various searches I found this structure online.
From the photos and the quality-price ratio of the services that Booking, last-minute, etc. offered me, it seemed like a good opportunity to spend 3 nights around the mid-August holiday, given the delay in booking due to work-related reasons which forced me to take a last minute -second(less than 12 hours ago).

Only after booking, however, did I read reviews that were little above satisfactory.

Specifically, I focused on some "legitimate" critical issues reviewed by the guests of this facility, I list some of them:
- rude staff, rooms without shower cubicles, mediocre food, minimal rooms and poor hygiene;

Well, I found quite the opposite.
As soon as my girlfriend and I arrived, we found the receptionist of extraordinary elegance and courtesy, she accompanied us to the room (for a 3-star hotel it is truly rare and exceptional), described the services and immediately put us at ease. Contrary to what some guests have written, to my question "let's proceed with the payment now", she confirmed that the balance will be paid at the end of the stay.
Very fragrant hotel, free and very convenient shuttle service to the wonderful and enchanting "Grotticelle beach", wonderful swimming pool and greenery, large and comfortable spaces, excellent food with high quality dishes (fish, meat) and perhaps even excessive quantities!
A tobacco machine and an ATM are available.
Unforgettable mid-August evening... but truly unforgettable!
Breakfast needs to be improved.
For the rest everything excellent. We will be back next year... with some attention and improvements you can aim for 4 STARS!

To date, having stayed in 4 facilities in Capovaticano (two of which are 4 stars) I can guarantee you that this is my favourite!

Ps I recommend half board.
In summary:
Relax & nature! Excellent food, dream pool, professional and courteous staff, heavenly setting!

The location was nice! Close by were very nice beaches and the view was incredible. The pool area was very nice and calm! The rooms very okay, very old and small but otherwise okay. But! The staff was very rude and the buffet was a joke. It was so obvious this was german owned since the foods were like from a cheap german supermarket. Nothing fresh, nothing italian, nothing cooked or selfmade. Everything was just pre-heated junk. If you don’t eat meat, the only thing you can eat here is pasta with nothing on it, onions and slices of tomatoes. There were absolutely nothing fresh and in the morning the only fruits came out of a can full of sugar. Breakfast was no better than dinner. There are no restaurants near by so you can’t really eat out. This is the reason why I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. You are going to be very hungry if you stay here for longer than just a couple of nights.

Breakfast selection minimalist, dinner loveless canteen food, tasteless.
If you arrive during the official meal times half an hour before the end, the breakfast like evening buffet is empty and nothing is submitted, so you were unlucky.
10 minutes before the end, the lights are turned off in the breakfast room.
Food, all in all deficient!!!

I have never eaten so badly, very disappointing for Italian cuisine!!!

For a fellow passenger in our tour group, the door lock on the room was broken from the start. He had to pay for the repair of 180 € himself. The hotel was not willing to cover these costs. Impossible, not self-inflicted. Is that how you get your hotel renovated?

Room, functional, kept very simple, cleanliness but top .

additional drawback that the reception staff speak neither English nor German. Without Italian you can't get anywhere at the reception.

The pool landscape and the bartender Domenico are the highlight of this hotel.
