Me and my family booked two rooms In this country hostel and we had a great time. The family who ownes this place lives just In front of the hostel and Dagbjort, who was a very kind host showed us the rooms and made us feel like this was our Home. The rooms are clean and the kitchen is very big and has everything that we needed to cook a dinner and breakfast for 5. It is a lovely place surrounded by Nature and I will for sure recommend it.

This is a lovely old farmhouse that's been renovated to provide cosy, comfortable tourist accommodation. There are five rooms, all triples and all have washbasins in the room. There's an excellent kitchen/dining room (with a view of Snaefellsjokull) and a large outside deck and barbecue. There's plenty of room if you need to stay inside because of bad weather. We paid Kr5,000 (about 35euro) per person per night (June 2015) for sleeping bag accommodation. It's a great location on the beautiful Snaefellsness peninsula - close to Budir and its lovely beach. Nearby, there's excellent horseriding and a mineral water pool at Lysuholl. The family that run this place are very friendly and welcoming and speak excellent English. Keep an eye open for the friendly cat too - wearing a very jaunty collar.

The hostel is in the renovated "old house" of a two house complex. Parts of the exterior of the house still needs some updating, but the interior is completely redone and very nice. The room we stayed in was comfortably equipped with three single beds with adequate space (sleeping bag accommodation). The kitchen is spacious and was the nicest guest kitchen we experienced in Iceland, with a large dining room looking across the property and fields to the water. (There's also a barbeque and deck outside, but it was of course raining...) It's family-run, and we had a long and very pleasant conversation with the proprietress, who was very accommodating and informative. We enjoyed our stay here.
