Very nice modern room, great vue from the balcony ! Very clean, comfy mattress. High quality breakfast with a lot of homemade products. Restaurant as well was very nice and not too expensive. Really nice experience during our road trip.

Dear Anne Sophie We are very thankful for your kind words. Our comfort rooms are more modern than the other room types, some with balcony and some with patio. Appreciate the compliments on our breakfast, almost everything homemade! Happy to hear you enjoyed the food and had nice experience of Langaholt. Thank you for your stay and the 5 stars :-) Best regards, Perla Team Langaholt

When we first opened the room door the heat from inside was overwhelming, close to 40C. We had to leave the door open for 2 hours while we went for dinner in an attempt to bring the temperature down. Unfortunately, that didn’t help much the room was exposed to the sun all day with the one small window shut. We were assured the “triple” room would be large enough for 3. One could not move without literally hitting furniture. No room for luggage, no TV, no closet, no hangers, the curtains didn’t even cover the entire window from the light, thin walls (you could hear people talk next door, etc. ...and that was for the “comfort level” booking. To make matters worse, we’ve never seen a bathroom this small. The tiny sink and the toilet were both literally inside a small shower (photo). We’ve seen larger bathrooms in boats and RVs. Only 2 towels for 3 persons. By the time you realize it, another trip to the reception desk. While dinner was barely average, there were no soft drinks except for Appelsin a local orange flavored drink that had twice the sugar content of the main soft drink brands. The only beer available was warm. The young lady handling the check-in and the restaurant didn’t seem to care about much and had a rude attitude. What a difference from the rest of the locals we met during our stay. This establishment will definitely give Iceland tourism a bad name. Last but not least, it was not cheap either. I could think of no reason why one would purposely want to stay there.

Hello Kenny Kanuk. The weather and temperature in Iceland can change very suddenly so it can sometimes be hard to control the temperature inside. Our triple rooms are in the standard room type, not comfort like you described. The size for standard room is approx. 14-15 square meters and is usually not a problem. We don't have TV in the rooms because this is a guesthouse, not a hotel. We have hangers in the rooms, if it was missing I hope you talked to our staff. I am sorry that you only got 2 towels instead of 3 and I am sure our staff gladly handed you another one in no time. I'm surprised to hear that the check in lady had a rude attitude - we usually hear the opposite. Sorry to hear that your experience of Langaholt did not meet your expectations. It is likely that 2 x comfort rooms would have met your expectations better than 1 x triple standard room. Best regards, Perla Team Langaholt

This guesthouse is extremely overpriced! Our room was next to the restaurant so was very noisy. The bathroom is tiny with a miniature sink. The shower was next to the toilet without curtain or door. Not worth the money.

Dear Squirrellie Thank you for your review. It is sad to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations. The basic rooms are of course not as well equipped and organized as the standard and the comfort rooms which would probably have met your expectations better. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Iceland nevertheless! Best regards, Perla Team Langaholt

We arrived and the room was probably close to 35C because of the sun. We asked the front desk if we could have an east-facing room to combat the sun and the heat, since hot hotel rooms seems to be a theme in this country, and this was our 8th night staying somewhere. No rooms were available, but the front desk was nice enough to check. Definitely need the face masks in this place, as the curtains don’t do anything to block light, they just cover the windows. We ate dinner here, and it was amazing and delicious. Seriously, the food was awesome. We got the catch of the day, which was halibut, and the lamb fillet. Breakfast was meh. Nothing hot, but plenty of homemade everything to satisfy your stomach in the morning. Our stay was booked through a tour via Guide to Iceland.

Dear mnorth916! That is "classic Iceland" - that the weather and temperature changes so quickly that it is sometimes difficult to control the room temperature. I am pleased to hear that our staff were helpful and that you enjoyed our food! Thank you for your stay and a warm review ;) Best regards, Perla Team Langaholt

We stayed for 2 nights. Room was spacious and lovely view. Nice to walk down to the beach and across the golf course. Bathroom was modern but no hot water in the shower either night!! Not impressed with that! Room not cleaned in the morning. Dirt and crumbs still on the floor, bed poorly made, bins still full of rubbish! Breakfast very average. Bread homemade but not crunchy or tasty. Toaster broken. Homemade jams delicious. Dinner nothing special. We actually drove 54km (round trip) the second night to have dinner elsewhere. Would not stay here again.
