With just 38 guest rooms and bungalows, Blue Waters Inn sits in 42 acres of tropical gardens directly on the beach at Batteaux Bay, Speyside, Tobago. Getting to us takes approximately 85 minutes from the airport. Speyside is super relaxed with quick access to the Main Ridge rainforest and the key underwater sites of the island. Twitchers and divers / snorkellers are very well catered for and the hotel is perfect for those wishing to simply switch off and enjoy the hotels tranquil location. The beach shelves gently and is considered safe for bathing. Lay by the pool or in the open air jacuzzi and admire the view across Batteaux Bay towards Bird Island and Little Tobago in the near distance. Learn to dive at our 5 star PADI dive centre complete with 2 Newton dive boats or explore the rainforest with one of the local guides. All our rooms are air-conditioned and face the sea. Most offer fabulous sea views and are only a few steps from the sand. The One and Two Bungalows are bigger and offer either one or two bedrooms. These are located a few steps from the beach have a patio. Deluxe Oceanview Studios are also very spacious and have an open plan kitchen / living room. Inter-connecting rooms are available for families needing more space. The fabulous Driftdeck offers dining alfresco with views straight out across the bay whilst the more elegant "Aqua" offers fine cuisine two or more nights per week.

Nestled in a picturesque setting that many guests find stunning, Blue Waters Inn Hotel is celebrated for its seclusion and the chance for adventure. While the location is a highlight for guests seeking both tranquility and local tours, opinions on the hotel's value and cleanliness are mixed—some praise the food and views despite additional charges, while others note room for improvement in upkeep. The rooms offer delightful beach proximity and sea views, yet maintenance and cleanliness have been called into question. A variety of amenities are available, though guests have flagged some issues like limited supplies and overly chlorinated pools. The staff's friendliness is frequently acknowledged, but service can be hit-or-miss, with some guests experiencing slow responses.

We loved our stay at Blue Waters Inn. Great location, great rooms, super snorkelling a short boat ride across the bay (we saw 8ft reef sharks, lobster, crab, eels, obvs loads of fish). Breakfast was top, especially the Caribbean dishes, and we loved other meals. V friendly and helpful staff. Thanks BWI!

Blue Waters Inn is undoubtedly one of Tobago's hidden treasures. Hence, in my humble opinion it is the BEST Eco tourist destination on the island. It is neatly tucked away in the heart of Speyside, an ideal location for newlyweds if you need some privacy. LOL! It is indeed a bird watcher's haven. Ideal location for travel enthusiasts who will like to experience diving, snorkeling, and even have a peek at the largest brain coral in the western hemisphere. Friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel right at home:) The rooms were spotless, furnished with all the modern amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Compliments to the chef! Both dinner and breakfast were divine. Our family will recommend this gem to anyone who visits the island of Tobago. Captivating sun kissed ocean front view with tranquil, turquoise waters to take your breath away was the signature of this unforgettable stay. Indeed a magnificent home away from home:) Thank you for a memorable Golden Birthday:)

This hotel is nested in one of the best geographic locations we have ever been on; it sits perfectly inside a beautiful bay, which provides you with an incredible view, privacy and security.
The hotel staff was amazing! They made every effort to make sure we had the best experience possible in the hotel: from the front desk team always ready to help, to the chef with his amazing food, and the general manager, who was always there doing everything in his power to make sure we were having a great stay.
The hotel beach is just beautiful. The water is clean and clear, from above the colors are amazing and the water temperature was just perfect.
The hotel provides water sports for free, such as kayaking and stand paddles or snorkeling. It’s also worth to mention that they have a Padi dive shop on site, and are close to some of the best diving spots in Tobago.
The rooms are clean and renewed and have a great view. We stayed in 2 rooms during our stay (we totally recommend the bungalow, if you are traveling with kids, or just want a very private stay).
Overall, we totally recommend this hotel for its staff, facilities and the great location, if you are looking for a relaxed getaway far away from your busy city life.

I visited with my wife, the beach a beautiful, really nice location and it ends there.

The room wasn’t cleaned it was dusty and the door knob was falling apart.

luckily i had a case of water in the car or we may have not gotten any water to drink in the room.

the beautiful jetty in their pictures, its in a mess planks missing its a hazard waiting to happen

a lot of the furniture in and around the resort is covered in bird poop, and its dried and u can tell that it hasn’t been cleaned for a while, they used covid as an excuse for lack of cleaning, but if u are still running a resort you need to keep it clean for people who came to use it, cleaning will even further help fight against covid, so thats a poor excuse u are supposed to he cleaning more than before you guys seemed to have gone to a clean less approach.

and lets not even talk about the bed sheets, idk if it was a sheet or a doily from someone’s granny table or what it was But it was hard and uncomfortable.

and their breakfast menu is limited and of the listing you are told to choose one item only (picture attached) for a hotel with this price i would expect a proper walk thru breakfast when i have select what i want in what ever combinations i want, the waiting staff also seem to keep forgetting that u need utensils to eat with.

And i see that management has been on here apologizing since 2019, thats a year of apologies and still no improvement, thats sad.

This is our first trip to Trinidad and Tobago and just about everything is better than hoped.

Tobago, in general, was a nice surprise...cleaner, greener, more convenient than many other islands in the region.

Blue Waters Inn was a comfortable and welcoming place with very pleasant grounds and accommodations, helpful staff and a real cook in the kithen.

We would not hesitate to return to Blue Waters Inn or suggest it to others looking for a modest, up to date beach resort with a laid back and peaceful ambience.

Our concerns would be limited to just two. The wait staff were very accomodating but often appeared disorganized,  resulting in delays in being served.

In addition, those wishing to take The Glass Bottom Boat to Little Tobago Island to see birds may be disappointed. After what could be a choppy ride, a slightly challenging climb to the top for older and/or physically inept tourists , the sightings are limited. The Boobies and most other birds are at a great distance away, barely visible.

Thankfully the Red-billed Tropicbirds were closer in. And the guides and boating staff certainly kept their eyes on everyone in the group and were right there to assist when necessary.

When we return, we will, HOWEVER, revisit the Main Ridge. It is a beautiful area with great views , wonderful birds and only a 30 minute drive from Blue Waters Inn. Our guide from Eureka Natural History Tours was top notch.

Superb Location and position with gorgeous water, very secluded.
This is a 3 star hotel and has so much potential. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages which are a stone’s throw from the beach and they are spacious.
However that is where it ends.
Jason the chef seems to manage the hotel as well. He greeted us at the outset and the next day I asked if he could do something a little special for dinner that evening as one of us had a Birthday. He said no
Robles, the table would be decorated and some cake would be provided. However, when we came for dinner, nothing!!!
I expressed my disappointment the next day and the receptionist apologised and said he must have forgotten! Jason never came to apologise and we hardly saw him again.
Secondly the gardens are lovely and well tended but the rooms are not. They are cleaned superficially and housekeeping takes place every other day. However one of us had to make our own bed as it was left unmade!
The windows are a disgrace. They have a shutters down but if you look behind the shutters in the bedroom and bathrooms you wished you hadn’t! There were 4 safes in the cottage and NONE of them worked!
The pool bar was never manned and no one ever came round and asked us if we would like a drink.
There is just a serious lack of management and the majority of staff do not seem happy. When we checked out, the receptionist Erica, hardly spoke and did not even ask us if we had enjoyed ourselves.
Come on Blue Waters… you need a good Manager ( not a chef who has his own job) to run the place, train the staff and spruce up the bedrooms.
Mention must be made however of Erica at breakfast who had a ready smile and nothing was too much trouble.
Sadly we will not return until good reports appear here.

Making the best of the 2020 covid19 pandemic, the staff are so polite, welcoming and very accommodating. Although there was some minor hiccups with electricity and WASA on the isle, we were upgraded from a Studio King Deluxe Suite to a Bungalow.
There are covid 19 restrictions on the island presently so there is no in-house dining currently taking place. However, food is ordered and delivered to us in a timely manner! Food is delicious! Kudos to the chef for having patience with us on this trip. Cheers! #kyleandalexis150820

I was very disappointed with my stay at Blue Waters Inn. The pictures on social media painted a picture of a well kept resort and we decided to visit for a weekend getaway. For the cost to match and possibly exceed competitor’s such as Magdalena and Hyatt, this was definitely not worth it and I wished I visited one of the other establishments. The bathroom was very small and dirty. The mattress for the bed desperately needs changing and under the bed had garbage that we met when we checked in. We were told of a complimentary breakfast so I expected a buffet breakfast. To our surprise, the breakfast was a choice of three options two of them being egg based. Therefore, if you’re like my partner and do not like eggs you’re stuck with the last option only. At breakfast also, we removed our masks to eat and while the staff would bring the food or cutlery I’d have to quickly rush to put my mask back on as their mask would be by their chin etc when approaching our table. To me that was unacceptable as we are very much still in a pandemic. The cutlery and condiments were also outdated and dirty. Blue waters I believe was once well maintained and a great resort but definitely hasn’t retained that standard over the years.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to escape for 3 days to beautiful Tobago. Blue Waters Inn was top of the list because of all the beautiful images and a couple recommendations so we went for it…. Worse mistake ever! I’ll start by saying there’s ONLY 2 good things; the spectacular mountain and ocean views and the friendly line staff (specifically Kim from the Bar, the Head Chef and Ayzola along with her colleague at the Front Desk).

Now to the deplorable facilities! Their avg daily rate ranges $250-350usd. It began when we checked into a room that was different from what they were selling on the website; no television/speaker, the room’s door knob was ridiculously rusty (photo attached) this was replaced the following day after expressing our disappointment to a person I assume is a manager. There was ZERO housekeeping service, not even water being replaced.

When u think about Tobago, crab and dumpling comes to mind or any one of those delicious Trinbago dishes….but guess what?! Blue Waters Inn’s breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are all American cuisine so we had to venture to a local restaurant in the town for lunch. Later that day, the manager finally suggested we talk to the chef to make us a local dish for dinner.

Being in Speyside with no surrounding entertainment, you’d expect the property to provide some sort of activity/social hour/entertainment for overnighting guests but that was not the case there. Last but not least, the pool and hot tub were slowly falling apart with a very coarse base that can easily scrape someone. A lot of potential however I do not recommend until this property is renovated and their services improve drastically.

The hotel is situated on a quiet bay, we were all inclusive but it’s not like maybe you would expect. No buffet, you choose from a menu for all your meals. The food is cooked to order and I loved it. Drinks were available all day, again at your request. There are plenty of sun beds both along the beach and around the pool. I’m not sure how much food is vegetarian or whether they could cater for you. This is a quiet holiday, escapism and go me a little bit of paradise.

I wouldn't recommend the boat trip immediately after lunch! The sea can be very choppy. I enjoyed the trip to Little Tobago but on the journey back had to have my head over the side! Be warned if you don't have good sealegs. We ate in the hotel because we liked it better than Jemma's.
