Though just basic accommodation but comfortable. Service is good with okay food. Your there for a reason, and you are by the water so you can relax and swim. Good for turtle watching, swimming and fishing. This is one place that I would return to in Oman just to do nothing.

We spent one night at Turtle Beach driving 2.5 hours from Muscat to get there. Well worth it. Clear turquoise sea, alcohol served on the chilled out restaurant and terrace. Well worth paying for air conditioned ensuite room with a sea view. Rooms clean, water hot, a/c cold staff friendly and helpful. Lots of fish in the bay to see,...

The resort was recommended by friends as the best place to stay for Turtle watching. It looked much nicer than the hotels nearer the Turtle reserve with lagoon views and a lovely relaxing ambiance. We booked dawn turtle watching with Reception and it took us about half an hour to drive to the reserve. We had a room with separate...

The resort is in a beautiful location ideally situated for turtle watching but also great for fishing, snorkelling, diving(but bring your own equipment). If you don't pursue an active life just relax on the golden beach and soak up the sun. Cool down with a quick dip in the clear blue waters of the lagoon. A good diverse menu with...

We didn't stay at the hotel as it was quite pricey. We arrived at 4.30 am (book the tour in advance and check the timings with them) to see the turtles.. which was incredible. On our way back we were quite hungry and decided to have breakfast. The bill came to 20 gbp for 2 people which I found very...

Our family had a nice stay at the resort. The staff were very helpful and made us comfortable. Kids were happy with the small play area. The small beach is best for a family swim. The food, live music all added to the pleasure.

We stayed 2 nights at the turtle beach resort and were happy that we had one whole day just at the beach, relaxing, swimming and enjoying great lemon mint juices. Very convenient also for the kids with little playground area and very beautiful sand on the beach. We had a nicje 4 bedroom "house", which was clean and big enough...

Exactly what was needed for a night's stay to see the turtles - the dinner buffet style suits everyone - whilst clearly aimed at western tourists it was done in such a welcoming manner, with live music it felt very comfortable.

I have been to this place a lot of times and I keep coming back. Great place to relax and enjoy nature. When you are planning a perfect weekend getaway, consider coming to the Turtle Beach Resort. Activities you can do inside the resort - snorkeling, kayaking, banana boating, dhow cruising. If you want to see green turtles you have to...

Nice place, not too pretentious but lovelly little beach and atmosphere. Turtles watching is about 25 minutes away and if you're driving yourself (as I did) be sure you'll arrive before night time as the last part of the road is quite dark.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Turtle Beach Resort is located 40 kms from Sur on the southern coastline area of the Arabian Peninsula of the Sultanate of Oman at the famous Ras Al Hadd area (world famous breeding ground for the Green turtles). A virgin beach area was identified in a crystal-clear lagoon and the resort was built in typical Omani tradition. Turtle Beach Resort is a traditional Omani style resort that has been offering its services for more than ten years now. We do everything to guarantee that your stay will be a pleasant one. The hotel has a private Beach for an unforgettable beach experience for all the family to enjoy. An ideal way to enjoy nature to its fullest would be to check into the resort in the day, bask in the sun, enjoy some water sports and after dinner make a visit to Ras-Al-Jinz Habitat to see the turtles come on to the beach searching for nesting ground and turtles laying eggs. ... more   less
