We had a too short a stay on this island. It was gorgeous with the scenery of rocks and beautiful blue ocean. The staff are just delightful and the best group of people we came across whilst moving around Fiji. We really enjoyed the food which was of great quality and served in lovely surrounds. There was a buffet breakfast... More

Very nice little island to spend a couple of days on. If you are looking for relaxing and discovering some marine life i can definately reccommend Kuata. Good professional dive shop, great Shark snorkel trip. Not much more to do than that, I would day 3 to 4 days would to depending on how much time you want to spend... More

We had a fun fill family holiday with loads of snorkelling off the beach and the reef Sharks. Diving, walking and fishing. Always something to do or you can just relax at the pool. Facilities are great.

The staff were really enthusiastic and went out of their way to make the day enjoyable. The shark snorkelling was amazing. Saw quite a few white tips and one black tip. A good range of fish also. Buffet lunch was delicious! Would love to go back and stay longer.

I was here for the first 4 days of my Yasawa Island hopping tripped and loved it so much that I came back for another 4 days at the end of my island hopping. This is a really small island with two beaches and a summit walk. Even so, there's always a spot you can find to just curl up... More

From the time of arrival at Kuata to the time of departure, this was a great experience. The service across all aspects of the Island was first class, very friendly locals always with a smile. Our double bed bure was clean and tidy and tastefully presented and included toilet and shower. Although no hot shower, the water was not cold... More

This island is so different to the main day trip islands. It has a marine reserve out front of the resort ( the resort itself is tiny but beautifully done). The snorkelling was the best we have experienced this trip - compared to Beachcomber and South Seas. We saw giant clam, octopus, masses of different hues of blue fish, large... More

Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights with Dive safari package. We love here! The staffs there were extremely friendly and helpful. We did a lot of activities here, diving, coconut weaving, guided summit walk (fantastic view!), guided cave walk, Kava ceremony, learn Fijian languange and etc etc etc. We will join the staff to sing the welcoming... This was our first island of a six island holiday, and it was just perfect. You are welcomed by the team, 1 performing the island ritual dance on the rock face and the rest singing on the beach who are all very friendly and pleased to meet you and help where needed. The island has 2 beaches and 3 mini... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Now part of the Barefoot Collection, Barefoot Kuata Island is about the feeling of freedom and living in harmony with our environment. We don't refer to our island as a "resort". Our eco-lodges are about living simply and sustainably. Rather than a tourist destination run by technology, Kuata is run by the warmth of its' people and the beauty of the environment. Our island is deliberately uncomplicated, unfussy and unpretentious. The breath-taking coral gardens, situated just off the coastline are amongst the finest in the world and allow you to snorkel right from the beach. We offer visitors a tranquil environment and our eco-lodge is the perfect destination for nature lovers in search of a one of the few Fijian islands unspoiled by man. Guests can expect unparalleled snorkelling excursions with reef tip sharks, beautiful coastal and forest trails, visits to nearby Fijian villages, kayaking...the list is endless. Step onto our island and lose yourself in the world of Blue Lagoon and Castaway. Settle into "Fiji Time," and you'll come to discover a virtual treasure trove of things to explore - both on land and in the surrounding waters. ... more   less
