We had an amazing stay at Nanuya Island, the last stop on our Yasawa Island trip. We received the usual warm and musical greeting before being shown to our bure. We opted for a treetop bure which was set just up the hill above the main lodge – beautiful views over the treetops to the sea. The room was light and airy with louvered windows on all sides and a large veranda to soak up the views. We had a ceiling fan and a fridge full of cold water to keep us cool. Everything was clean and up to standard. Unlike most other resorts, there was no meal plan. All meals were a la carte and paid for separately except for breakfast where a light continental breakfast was provided. The food was good, but not quite as good as many of the other resorts we stayed at. There is also a small minimart on site that carries basic foodstuffs and a few snacky things like chips, ice cream, and soft drinks. Wifi was not included in the price – you had to pay extra and it was quite expensive. We opted just to use our 3G data on our phones which was cheaper and more convenient.

The island has some nice hikes. You can walk 5km right around the island at low tide and there are a couple of nice hiking trails over the top of the island to the village and the Blue Lagoon which you can do on your own. The Blue Lagoon is only a few 100 meters away and provides a beautiful beach and decent snorkelling. The is an activities center on site where you can check out all the water sporting gear like paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkelling gear.

Overall we really loved this place and would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Really enjoyed this place. Friendly staff, excellent food including breakfast with fresh, warm local pastries (lolo bun, banana muffin, pancakes with powdered sugar) that alternated each day, fresh fruit platter with high quality fruit including papaya. Could add on eggs for a small extra cost. Other meals that were a la carte also good quality. There will always be a Western dish or two and (if lucky!) local cuisine (ie chicken curry, coconut milk dishes, fish). The treetop bure View was stunning. Some steps but nothing strenuous if mobile- consider sandals with some grip if feet are wet for the ~20 stone steps. Recommend 2-3 nights here- worth staying on other islands. Cave tour is a must. Really liked having Ronnie and Navi as tour guides for caves and snorkeling.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs.
We were welcomed with a beautiful traditional Fiji song and given free shell lays. They were a lovely touch.❤️
Nancy, the manager, was a standout as she went above and beyond for us for our entire stay. Nothing was too much for her.
The other staff were also amazing Zac the gardener , the bar staff, spa and the water sports guys. Sorry, i can't remember everyones names. However, they were down to earth, friendly and professional.
The rooms were spotless, decorated beautifully, and had breathless views.
House keeping checked on us every day.
The gardens looked like they could have been featured in a home and garden magazine.
The staff were great at making cocktails, and the equipment in water sports was clean and in a good repaired state. And were included in the cost of the rooms
The food was fantastic. Beach was clean. And we were lucky enough to meet the owners of the resort who were fantastic. Thanks, Val and Donna!!
After telling Nancy that I wanted to ask my partner to marry me. She disrectly.....made it happen with the help of the owners.
She upgraded us to the penthouse suite and had the staff bring our luggage from the other room.Nancy decorated it for our celebration. The penthouse( love shack!) was stunning. We enjoyed the privacy of our own beach, private spa, air conditioning, outdoor shower, hot water, fresh towels every day, a safe and perfectly manicured gardens.
We don't have a bad word to say about the resort and will be raving about it to all our family and friends!! We didn't want to leave. Also when we plan the wedding we will definitely be choosing this as our destination

Firstly, the reviews that say that the staff make this place are all true. The staff are amongst some of the friendliest we have met in Fiji. We have travelled around the Yasawas extensively so are able to make a true comparison. Domi, Moses, Vata are some of the wonderful staff members who really looked after us! The food was a bit hit and miss but seemed to improve as time went on. The baker is top notch as the pastries were all amazing. The breakfast that comes with your accomodation is very good. Lunch options were limited. We wish they offered better lunch options such as fish and chips, sandwiches and salads consistently. The prices were ridiculous for what you got and you didn’t have a choice to eat elsewhere. I read the owners comments stating that there is the cost of transportation to consider but the island grows a lot of its own food and other resorts have a better offering at a similar cost. I suggest to the owner please take the feedback onboard and try to improve your offering. Maybe consult with a chef or ask your guests ( even better)! Why fish that can be caught or bought off the locals isn’t offered everyday surprises me. Maybe make your portions smaller and charge less. FJD$50 for a pasta meal is OTT. Or your pastry chef could bake some lighter offerings for lunch. These prices are why tourists are choosing or will choose other places rather than Fiji. The accomodation was good but BEWARE when booking the hilltop bures. The website says it is elevated but we weren’t expecting cobbled, uneven steep steps to the top. There is nothing in the website to tell you this. We were staying with my elderly mother and the resort kindly offered us an alternative for three nights but she had to return to the hilltop for the remaining two nights. If you have any sort of issue with balance or walking up steep steps I’d suggest you don’t book the hilltop bures. The resort should make this very clear on its website for future guests! The resort offered many activities including snorkeling with the manta rays ( seasonal from May to October) and around the Blue Lagoon which we took up. They have experienced staff to look after you. And the entertainment put on in the evenings was top notch. There are two bars that offer happy hour drinks. We suggested to the Boatshed bar ( visited by the yachties moored there) that they offer some bar food as you don’t always want a huge meal everyday. The resort does not have a beach but there is access to a beach ten minutes away. The swimming in front of the resort accessed by steps is pretty good. I’d suggest that they get some proper steps into the sea as the current steps are an accident waiting to happen. Overall a really lovely place to stay and we were sad to be leaving.with a few improvements Nanuya would be comparable with some of the other resorts in the Yasawas.

As soon as you step off the boat you’re greeted with ‘welcome home’ and after even just a few days there you feel like you’re leaving home. Literally everything is excellent: location, food, amenities, rooms (could’ve lived in my treetop Bure for months just staring out into the Blue Lagoon), activities/trips especially the water based ones, access to kayaks/snorkel gear etc. Music, smiles, tagimoucia flowers everywhere - heaven. During my trip the resort had to deal with both Covid and a cyclone, the staff thought of and took care of everything. Last but not least the people… the entire front house team are some of the most beautiful, warm people I’ve ever come across: Tui, Kitty, Bill, Ronnie, Fina, Nai and just everyone, Vinaka vaka levu! I’ve been to a lot of countries and have stayed at a lot of places but Nanuya IR is by far superior in hospitality. Would never stay anywhere else if visiting the Yasawa islands. Soto tale!

We stayed nearby at wonderful Natabe, and thoroughly enjoyed visiting Nanuya for meals and activities during our stay. Nanuya has a beautiful outlook, lovely, well-maintained grounds and we found all of the staff to be so caring, attentive and knowledgable. My fiancé's cap flew off on the boat ride, and Bill turned the boat around for us without us needing to ask, and Ronnie dived off to grab it! We would not hesitate to stay at Nanuya. The cave and snorkelling trips that we went on were exceptional, we will always remember them. Mini made us our very own special drinks that were outstanding. He's a world-class bartender. We also enjoyed our spa treatments. Warm thank you to Vata, Luke, Tui, Akila, to the lovely staff member who remembered Col and Nicky and helped with our hat and bag weaving, and to all other staff. Val and Ivan, the owners, are genuine, wonderful and kind hearted people who really know how to run a place. Val greeted us personally and went out of her way to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. Thank you Val, Ivan and team for giving us such warm memories, and for coordinating so kindly and easily with Natabe. You were so accommodating of us.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Nanuya Island Resort and were absolutely delighted with the location, the service, the activities and the food. The staff at Nanuya are so welcoming and hospitable, and they make you feel like family as soon as you arrive. Everything about our stay here exceeded our expectations and we would most certainly recommend to anyone who is looking for an island getaway that has it all.

We travelled to Nanuya Island Resort for Easter for 5 nights with another couple and our 16 year old daughter and her friend. From the minute we arrived, it was amazing. We have been here several times, so we thought we knew what to expect, however so many improvements over the last 2.5 years. The gardens are lush and are manicured beautifully, without loosing the island paradise feel, the greeting, singing, smiles and bula's are the most welcoming on the planet. The food (Most of the fruit and vegetables are grown by the resorts thriving plantation) is certainly plentiful and delicious. The turquoise waters surrounding this fijian blissful resort are breathtaking, especially the sunsets. Paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkling ae all available without extra charge, as is nightly entertainment from local choirs, firedancing and cultural groups. The spa team have delightful and relaxing massages and the activities team always have options for day trips, boat trips, village visits or resort based daily activities. I do think the small shop (a few metres away from the resort), which hosts general goods and fresh bread cooked in the resort kitchen which smells devine, is a little gem. Whilst they have had little guests during the covid lockdowns and restrictions, the owners have continued to keep the amazing staff and continued to support the locals. This is a true fijian getaway.

We spent our honeymoon here staying for 5 nights. We were not sure what to expect as it was our first time travelling to Fiji.
From the moment our booking was confirmed we were very well looked after by Nancy. Nancy ensured our arrival was seamless and went above and beyond for us when our own travel plans encountered a small hiccup.

We were welcomed to the island by Nancy, Marie and some of the staff, before being taken to an incredible honeymoon suite which was completely stunning. We even had a bottle of champagne waiting for us.

The days that followed cannot be properly described or given enough credit. We met amazing people, including the owner Val and her daughter Donna who were very friendly.

Bar man George whipped up the most amazing cocktails every evening complete with a fantastic sense of humour. Dinner was spent devouring delicious meals brought to us with the warmest smile from Polly and Wilson, all while listening to Ura playing the guitar. We looked forward to every evening and the evening activities they had planned for us.

Daily activities can be booked on site and some options included snorkeling, island hopping and visiting the Sawa-I-Lau cave. We spent most of these trips with Moses who was an incredible tour guide. He has immense knowledge of the area and is so happy and proud to share it with people. He was accompanied sometimes by Bill and Vilamoni who were also very knowledgeable and friendly.

All in all, the people, the food, the accommodation, the entertainment and the activities provided by Nanuya are so underrated - it was one of the most incredible weeks of our life. There are so many options if looking for a resort up this way, but this one was fairly priced and way exceeded any expectations we had.

The only negative is that they make it so extremely hard to leave, and it's not because of the accommodation and beaches, but it's because of the people.

10/10. We will be back.

We stayed 7 nights on Nanyua. First in the studio suite and then upgraded to the honeymoon suit which was well worth it.

All the staff were super friendly and accomodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had a special trip. All the activities were great, we did the caves, fishing, snorkeling and the sunset cruise. Nanuya has a small general store and it seems yachts come to dock there and then eat at the resort.

Fun evening activities but everything winds down around 9:30. If you are looking for a party Island this isn’t it.

Food menu changed daily. The prices for dinner were around 40-70 fjd. We would have liked some more local food, more root vegetables and pulsami. Every time we had the fish it was excellent. I think they grow a lot of vege on the island and serve fresh caught fish. Breakfast was included. It came with a platter of fruit, coffee, cereals, toast plus a warmed pastry or pancakes.

There was heaps of beautiful singing done by the staff and it’s a mix of people living locally and from the mainland. Would recommend for a big relax or a special occasion for couples. It’s not super set up for kids and they may get bored with the relaxed vibe

No, - The Treetop bures are a traditional bungalow in other words. The are on the hillside and have great views of the Blue Lagoon from the balcony. And yes they are self contained with either double or twin beds and your own private ensuite and have fan , mini frig , coffee making facilities.
Answer from Debbi P
Boat transfer is approx 5hrs & cost is FJ$180 standard or FJ$225 in the captains lounge

Nanuya Island Resort offers free non motorised watersports, SUP boards, kayak, view boards, snorkel & goggles etc. From the Watersports/Activities shed we offer day trips to the Sawa-l-Lau Caves, Fishing trips, Sunset cruises and during Mantaray season is (May & October) and day trips are offered. We have lovely snorkelling right at the resort with guided activities most days. You can take a lovely round the island walk but unfortunately no horses on Nanuya Lailai. If you are looking to swim with sharks we can organise through other operators with confirmed booking. We also have the delightful Nanuya Lailai Day Spa on site.
