We absolutely loved our time here. In typical Fijian style we were greeted upon arrival at Nanuya with the Bula Song and a welcome drink by Maree and the team. We stayed in a Deluxe Villa for 2 nights and found that it not only met but exceeded our expectations. We found the villa to be large, spacious and had everything we needed. We loved that we had tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge. There was nothing nicer than waking up early to watch the sunrise on our deck with a cuppa in hand. We participated in a few of the free activities. We did the Rise and Shine Morning Walk with Akuila, Guided Snorkel with Moses and Coconut Talk/Demonstration with Vata. All great and the staff were all personable. You don’t come to this part of the Yasawa’s without visiting Sawa-I-Lau Caves. We did this with Moses and Winston. Both very knowledgeable and patient with the group. A fantastic and very worthwhile trip that’s not to be missed. Side note: we noticed that all their paid activities were very reasonably priced and would recommend. We were also lucky enough to have time to book in at the spa. The ladies were polite, knew what they were doing and made the experience relaxing. We found the massages to be extremely affordable. Our review of the food is mixed. We found the inclusive breakfast to be quite substantial and tasty however lunch and dinner was palatable and lacked variety. An exception though was the Beef Stirfry which was fantastic and well portioned. We didn’t appreciate it at the time but having the flexibility to order a la carte rather than being on a mandatory meal plan (at everywhere else we stayed) was excellent. Nanuya is also the only place in the Yasawa’s that has a little store which is well priced. They offered snacks, drinks and amenities - a great place to top up if travelling south through the Yasawa’s. As for the resort in general, they offer lots of cabanas with sun lounges that have direct access to the water. The dive shop team were always available to assist with the use of non-motorised equipment. The ladies at reception - Maree, Titi and Vika - were helpful. We loved how daily information (weather, tides etc) was displayed and the ease of adding your name to the activity book. Overall, extremely happy and would stay here again. We’d like to thank... • Akuila - We hope you enjoyed seeing your family in Seattle. • Moses, Winston and Vata (not Vatu - Nanuya's "rock"!) - for all the activities and your humour. • Tetha and the other lady (I'm sorry my partner forgot her name) - for the amazing massages. • Maree (and whoever else was involved) - for finding my phone, packaging it up and ensuring it arrived safely at our next resort. The honestly of the Fijian people is something you don’t see in other countries every day and I am extremely grateful. It’s people like you who make the world a better place. These resorts are nothing without the Fijian smiles and hospitality. We look forward to seeing you all again in the future. Until next time, Vinaka vakalevu!

We stayed for a week in mid-Sep. Perfect weather. Tree Top Bures have magnificent views and are very breezy and pleasant. Gardens are very well maintained. Food and service is good, not cheap but its a long way from anywhere so must cost to bring items in. Breakfast always filling. Fabulous fresh fruit grown in their own garden above the resort. Entertainment overnight, lots of fun, beautiful singing. Spa services were very good we thought. We did the cave trip - so much fun (and a little scary). The boat trip alone is wonderful. Guided snorkelling with a boat trip is very good, especially to the coral farm, the coral and fish there were truly extraordinary. Be aware that snorkelling off the long Blue Lagoon beach is not great, the reef is quite damaged (crown of thorns? Cyclone Winston and most probably the huge Blue Lagoon Cruise Boat that pulls right into shore once a week - we were shocked about this - not the fault of Nanuya Resort though). If you want off the beach snorkelling then head to Mantaray or Barefoot Manta. Nanuya was a gorgeous, small, very well maintained resort with lovely staff. We had a peaceful, interesting, relaxing week and would highly recommend to other couples.

We stayed 7 nights on Nanyua. First in the studio suite and then upgraded to the honeymoon suit which was well worth it. All the staff were super friendly and accomodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had a special trip. All the activities were great, we did the caves, fishing, snorkeling and the sunset cruise. Nanuya has a small general store and it seems yachts come to dock there and then eat at the resort. Fun evening activities but everything winds down around 9:30. If you are looking for a party Island this isn’t it. Food menu changed daily. The prices for dinner were around 40-70 fjd. We would have liked some more local food, more root vegetables and pulsami. Every time we had the fish it was excellent. I think they grow a lot of vege on the island and serve fresh caught fish. Breakfast was included. It came with a platter of fruit, coffee, cereals, toast plus a warmed pastry or pancakes. There was heaps of beautiful singing done by the staff and it’s a mix of people living locally and from the mainland. Would recommend for a big relax or a special occasion for couples. It’s not super set up for kids and they may get bored with the relaxed vibe

The property is very well maintained and we are glad that we met the owner who is an amazing person. I am so sorry that I have to give a negative rating for this but I feel it is a resort management's failure that they couldn't rectify the problem happened and fix it. I was expecting management could have done better and spoke to the Staff that had a problem and might have managed to take him along to sort out while we were there on island. It was very disappointing as well as insulting for us that they did not show any intentions of fixing the problem while we were in the resort. Athough I hope the management will in notice about the bad experience we had, I also have few things to add from my side. Our Village trip was scheduled and cancelled 2 times when we already mentioned that it is on our list before we leave the resort and it was agreed too. I have had appreciated it if we would have told upfront that you can't make that. The guided Snorkeling was also cancelled after the and I was asked to pay 'Double' if I still wanted to have. However, I was not offered with the snorkeling near to the resort area by Vata which is FOC as conveyed by the staff. Bur rather, Vata was least interested and not bothered about giving the alternative options. This was rectified and owner took a look into it personally and it was arranged. Moses- You are fantastic and does all great job. Thank you so much for guiding me to do my first Snorkeling. Maree- We really are thankful for arranging all the food and being very Cooperative throughout the stay. Vata- If you are reading this, I would really want to know what made you not speaking to us directly and want to know what problem you had with us. I was told by many of the staff in the resort that they shall talk to you and you would come to us before we leave the Yasawa islands. It really hurts when such things happen while we are ending our trip. I am very sure that you have been doing the some good work there and we have had fun doing all the activities. You are so talented as well, but please have some courtesy the guests to apologize when you are wrong atleast in future. JFYI, the ground staff who came to pick the luggage was even apologizing multiple times for what happened (which is certainly not his job) and it is really a shame that you kept ignoring the fact that you were wrong without bothering. You showed no empathy even while we were getting on the boat to Lautoka. Ili- Thanks for letting us know about the Village trip cancellation on behalf of Vata. It requires guts to talk to the customer who was already dissatisfied last day itself and we appreciate you taking time to speak to us.

Nanuya Island Resort was simply a great stay. Note to get here however is one of the more expensive option given its remote location. Definitely consider this. If you're looking for a budget stay, this isn't it. To get from main land to the island this will cost a couple approximately $820fj return. To put this into perspective, this is the same cost of an economy flight from Australia. The seacat from denarau was smooth; dont bother getting the captains lounge upgrade ($40pp p/trip), most of those upgrade people were in the normal airconditioned area or on the roof, and you will not get your money back unless you're slamming beers down. I'll break this review down into a few sections: , service, rooms, food/drink & activities. Service: 3.5/5 - good. After getting off the 5 hour boat journey you're welcomed with a song and luggage is safely moved from boat across the beautiful water into the Nanuya island resort. You're met with the welcome song, delish virgin cocktail and then sat down for a very firm debrief. My recommendation for Nanuya resort here would be to make this debrief a bit more fun and casual. I'm not sure if we arrived at a bad time/day, but the initial debrief was a bit cold, firm and felt like an adult advising children what they can and cannot do. Most people have just travelled 5 hours by boat and a bit fatigued so letting people self serve a lot of this information in a book in the room would be ideal. Also i felt there was a lot of emphasis on additional costs. While I understand the resort would want to be transparent with no 'gotchas', it did give a funny taste in my mouth. However, thats where funny tastes and bad vibes finished! Our bags were taken to our room, a warm shower was taken in our treetop room. After this initial experience the service was exceptional. George at the Iguana bar was warm, welcoming and very helpful throughout our entire stay. Thank you George! From the gardeners, cleaners, spa therapists everyone was warm, friendly and would go out of their way to say hello. Dont under estimate how much that genuine 'hello/bula' is to a guest. It makes us feel welcome. One more recommendation is for the owners. You've built/upgraded this resort to be pretty amazing and you should be very proud. Its worth pointing out that guests notice your presence at the restaurant or driving around in your buggies. My wife and I stayed close to a week and the only interaction we had was initiated by me trying to help you identify a stand up paddleboarder who'd gone a touch further that advised. I know you must get a plethora of guests, but I'd have loved to have had a quick chat about all the work you've done and the work you're doing or even just a token: " hello, how's the stay going?" Rooms: 4/5: Great. We had a treetop room and the view was a postcard. Waking up every morning looking out over two islands seperated by crystal clear blue water was a literal dream. We did request a king bed but were provided two singles; this was quickly resolved without us even asking by the team. A few notes on your room and your expectations. Remember you're 5 hours boat away from the main island as such, the rooms are more eco style. As such there's no aircon but the room was 360 degree shutters to let air/light in/out. Its very much surrounded by nature; as such you'll get gekkos in your room. While the rooms are reasonbably private (just dont leave the shutters open) the walls are mostly windows and as such paper thin... you will hear... everything from your neighbours and they will hear everything from your room - (Imagine i'm winking at your right now). The only negative from the room stay is mice. During our stay we had 3 other couples have 3am visits from mice chowing down on sugar packets. At the first sign of noises i put everything in the fridge to remove the threat. The view makes up for this. Food/Drink: 4.5/5. So once again, remembering how remote you are and that everything is grown/sourced from the island. Prices are pretty high but I think we all accepted that was going to be the case. There's a store about 300m away (inside the public bar) that you can get noodles/snacks/beers if you need to save a few coins. Breakfast: While you can order a hot breakfast; i'm not sure why anyone would. For breakfast each guest gets 2 peices of toast, 1 plate of fresh fruit, and 1 serve of pastry (donut/pancakes etc) I'm a bit of a mouse eater for breakfast so this was a lot of food for me. The food quality for dinner was over all great, sticking to fish for such a great fresh quality. I had the crab curry too which was good flavor wise, albeit a lot of shell. Drinks: George makes some good cocktails with fresh fruit and is happy to help you navigate the menu. Beer prices were fine, if you did want to save a few coins bring your own beers for your room or duck down to the shop and get some for your fridge. Otherwise you have two happy hours. The public bar (boathouse) at the wharf you can grab a 1lt fiji gold/bitter for $8fj as you watch that amazing sunset go down. Activities: This gets a 5.5/5 (exceeded expectations) Firstly: Rise and Shine - Never actually explained what it is; but its a morning walk to the look out point of the island. Its great, do it at least once. Walking along the beach in the morning is fantastic. The beach is instagram worthly. Slow stroll at low tide watching the fish is just a perfect way to start the day. Snorkling tour- fantastic Cave visit/swim - amazing (around 2.5-3hrs return) Kayaking - great facilities avaliable and free SUP - avaliable and free coconut demonstrations, weaving etc are all done internally and they're extemely patient. Thank you Vatu/Winston and everyone else who helped out with these activities. Final thoughts: The location of the resort is what sells it. Every morning you're waking up in a paradice and because its a small resort (think 20 people at any one time currently) in a few days the guests become a community bonded by activities and experiences. Its romantic, calming, fun and grounding. Just a side note: All of the dogs are people friendly and I personally love dogs so want them to stay, but the female dogs really do not get along with each other. (think savage fighting blood/limping etc) We had numerous dog fights on our trip which was a bit confronting. After I figured this out, keeping the female dogs seperated was a good thing to know, as they actually add a positive, relaxing experience to the island when they're curled up next to you.

Vinaka Vaka Levu Matt, thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. So glad you enjoyed your stay with our Nanuya family. Unfortunately transfer from the mainlaind to our piece of paradise is unavoidable, we believe that it is absolutely worth the effort and expense. Thank you for highlighting our staff, we are immensley proud of our team and their genuine Bula spirit. It is our belief that our guests come to Nanuya to interact with and experience the local culture. As owners we try to take cues from our guests as to how much involvement is welcomed from our part, I apologise that we missed the opportunity to tell you our story. Sota Tale, until we meet again

we loved our time at Nanuya. We spent 8 nights there and really got to know the staff. Winston and Derrick went above and beyond for all the activities. Try the sunset cruise, the cave trip and walk to the local village! There are 2 bars with happy hours and lots of greet entertainment. Would recommend going .

Best experience! I would say one of the most organized resorts I've stayed at. My partner and I had the full Fiji Experience. Accommodations were had good variety from budgeted to luxurious. Staff was excellent they were multi talented and they are most hospitable. Shout out to Dui, Vatu, Derek, Winston, Lucy, Illie and Georgie they made our stay most memorable. They have activities listed throughout the day and meal plans which is perfect. There is a wide variety of activities to choose from in their activity centre. They have Happy Hour and good hiking trails. From their resort snorkel around the beach and would see a good variety of fish. staying a minimum of 4 nights is recommended. -J&M

The staff were amazing. The food not so good as not many choices and kept repeating. Nice beach and easy to relax. Where they excelled is this - at 6.00am on our checkout day good old Air New Zealand (sense the sarcasm) advise by a notification that we have been kicked off our 1405 flight home and are now on the 1135 flight. We had a helicopter scheduled for 10.00am but check in on our new flight closes at 9.55 am. So the staff contacted Island Hoppers, they told us to be at navutu Stars resort at 7.30 am - they organise a boat and Island Hopper waited till we got there - which was at 8.00am so we got to Nadi and were able to get our flight. So no matter what criticism I would have of the resort paled into comparison for what they and Island Hoppers sorted out.

Our first holiday away since Covid started. An amazing resort with everything we needed, comfortable, clean, Fijian styled rooms which were very comfortable and cool. We celebrated our twin girls 21st, there were 6 of us in total, we had an absolute blast. The friendly, welcoming, kind staff made our holiday the best holiday ever, thank you to all of you. We experienced so much in 9 days. The snorkeling was amazing and just a short walk to end of island or a boat trip to a reef, swimming with the Mantarays' which was an unbelievable experience - we saw at least 12 moving with the current!! Kayaking and boarding. We learnt to weave, make bracelets and make coconut cream after a talk about how the coconut palm is classed as the tree of life, just about every part of the palm can be used. We experienced a wonderful hike up to view the Yasawa Islands and absolutely stunning! The Day Spa provides incredible massages! Amazing cocktails, beautifully modest and flavorsome food, Fijian music, dancing, and sunsets and so much more available. Still enough time to relax & unwind. We helicoptered in & highly recommend this as a quick way to reach the island, & to see the amazing scenery. A dream come true for us all, we will be back to see you next year! We all highly recommend if you are looking for a balance of adventure and relaxation and keen to immerse yourself into the culture of Fiji. We miss you all! Love from the Kiwis xx

Firstly, the reviews that say that the staff make this place are all true. The staff are amongst some of the friendliest we have met in Fiji. We have travelled around the Yasawas extensively so are able to make a true comparison. Domi, Moses, Vata are some of the wonderful staff members who really looked after us! The food was a bit hit and miss but seemed to improve as time went on. The baker is top notch as the pastries were all amazing. The breakfast that comes with your accomodation is very good. Lunch options were limited. We wish they offered better lunch options such as fish and chips, sandwiches and salads consistently. The prices were ridiculous for what you got and you didn’t have a choice to eat elsewhere. I read the owners comments stating that there is the cost of transportation to consider but the island grows a lot of its own food and other resorts have a better offering at a similar cost. I suggest to the owner please take the feedback onboard and try to improve your offering. Maybe consult with a chef or ask your guests ( even better)! Why fish that can be caught or bought off the locals isn’t offered everyday surprises me. Maybe make your portions smaller and charge less. FJD$50 for a pasta meal is OTT. Or your pastry chef could bake some lighter offerings for lunch. These prices are why tourists are choosing or will choose other places rather than Fiji. The accomodation was good but BEWARE when booking the hilltop bures. The website says it is elevated but we weren’t expecting cobbled, uneven steep steps to the top. There is nothing in the website to tell you this. We were staying with my elderly mother and the resort kindly offered us an alternative for three nights but she had to return to the hilltop for the remaining two nights. If you have any sort of issue with balance or walking up steep steps I’d suggest you don’t book the hilltop bures. The resort should make this very clear on its website for future guests! The resort offered many activities including snorkeling with the manta rays ( seasonal from May to October) and around the Blue Lagoon which we took up. They have experienced staff to look after you. And the entertainment put on in the evenings was top notch. There are two bars that offer happy hour drinks. We suggested to the Boatshed bar ( visited by the yachties moored there) that they offer some bar food as you don’t always want a huge meal everyday. The resort does not have a beach but there is access to a beach ten minutes away. The swimming in front of the resort accessed by steps is pretty good. I’d suggest that they get some proper steps into the sea as the current steps are an accident waiting to happen. Overall a really lovely place to stay and we were sad to be leaving.with a few improvements Nanuya would be comparable with some of the other resorts in the Yasawas.
