    Pushed out before check-out time
Our villa had someone arrive by seaplane at 8:30 am on our departure date (this info was posted on the chalkboard outside of the office). Despite my confirming with the office that we needed to check out by 10:30 am, we had housekeeping dropping off linens at 9 am and forcing us out at 10 am. Our villa was over $300 (USD) per night and I'd intended to shower/freshen up just before checking out and this was not possible. Overall, we had a great stay - nice people and good food - but being pushed out of our high-priced beachfront villa 30 minutes early was totally unacceptable.

    Relaxing Honeymoon Spot
Stunning scenery, lovely beach and a nice pool area with ample space. We spent a few nights here on our honeymoon and it was the perfect spot to unwind with a book in hand. I'd recommend no more than 5 nights here, you'll get a taste of everything they offer in that time. If you're in Fiji for longer try out some of the other islands. If you can stomach the thought of swimming through an underwater tunnel between caves, the cave trip is spectacular and was a highlight for me. My wife is a touch claustrophobic so she stayed at the resort and enjoyed a massage while I was out spelunking. The food was pretty good for us as vegetarians but a couple of improvements could be made. While the dinner menu seems to be on a rotation (the lasagne was great and so were the vegetable pastries offered other nights during our stay) but the lunch menu was fixed the entire time we were there which meant we got pretty sick of spring rolls, though they were very tasty. A vege burger would be a welcome addition to the menu and easy for the kitchen staff to pull off, given the array of burgers already on the menu. The absolute culinary highlight was buffet night as there were plenty of awesome vegetarian dishes available for this. Curry night was also a highlight of our food experience here. Breakfast here in my opinion was spot on, plenty on offer for hot food and lovely pastries every day for the continental side of things. The filter coffee at BLBR was the best we had during our time in Fiji. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the eggs benedict, which stood up to some I've tried here in Wellington. Our room was by most counts fantastic, but it was bloody hot! We were treated to air con at mainland hotels and were surprised not to have it at BLBR but I'm unsure of their energy requirements in such a remote location and understand that this may play into the choice not to offer air con in the villas. My hot tip (pardon the pun) to beat the heat would be to use only one sheet and to shove that sheet in the refrigerator all day until right before bed time during your stay here. We're definitely keen to return to the Yasawa Islands and would absolutely consider another stay at BLBR.

Very paradise-feel like experience. Would recommend it and definitely come again. Compared to other resorts further south, this is great value for money for a relaxing holiday. Great garden villa with private outdoor bathroom and lounge chair outside. Quiet setting. Restaurant and (a-la-carte) food were equally great and a clean, big pool. The beach is just a few steps away, beach chairs are provided (although not always enough if it's a bit busier). There are ample free (snorkel gear, kayaks, SUPs, etc.) and some paying activities (night snorkel, diving, village tours) to keep one occupied if the weather is nice (which it was in our case). There's also a free 3 km hiking trail leading up a hill with a magnificent view over the surrounding islands and ocean.

Absolutely unbeatable location - such a perfect beach with amazing snorkelling directly out the front. Cute resort with lovely grounds and the 2 bedroom garden villas were very spacious. The staff were so lovely and excellent management - they were very hands on and involved which was great to see. We had a fantastic time here and can't wait to visit again.

This was our third visit to Blue Lagoon but our first post COVID. We weren't disappointed, we had fantastic experience from start to finish. We chose to transit to the BL resort by helicopter as this saves on an overnight in Nadi and is a wonderful experience. Our only advice would be to confirm the helo's departure time when booking as we sat for almost 2.5 hours post our arrival at Fiji International waiting for another couple who were on a later international flight. Other than that, our holiday was incredible. Five nights in the deluxe garden villa followed by three nights in a beachfront villa made it a true tropical experience. The all-inclusive food package is off the charts, with the chef's and front of house staff doing an incredible job. All the staff are fantastic and we will definitely be back.

We spent ten days at this fantastic resort which is located at the far end of the Fijian Yasawa island group. The resort ticked all the boxes for us: Snorkeling straight from the beach, friendly and hospitable local people, great food, smallish resort where it didn't feel like mass-tourism. And we got all and more than this! A great coral reef is located straight in front of the resort - the tropical fish are amazing in colour, variety and in such abundance! Sometime we found ourselves fully surrounded by these small colourful fish as we snorkeled along the reef - what an experience. The staff of the resort are so personable and hospitable - they went out of their way to even learn our names right from the beginning (Thank you Tima)! Our Garden-Villa accommodation (an individual little house) was kept in a typical Fijian-style, was keep very clean and we felt very comfortable. Loved the outdoor shower! The meals had a good variety including a five-course dinner! I loved the local Walu-fish, pan-fried! One small thing which could be improved further is some of the landscaping, making the walkways a bit more defined. However, the local plantings are great and provide plenty of shade. Overall: This resort is highly recommended if you are looking for a personable, typical Fijian, well-catered for, relaxing holiday with outstanding snorkeling straight from the local beach!

Amazing resort with the most incredible snorkelling right off the beach (at least in my experience). Lots of healthy coral, variety of fish and even got to swim with a turtle. Most staff we interacted with were warm and friendly with a good sense of humour. Amenities and grounds were well-maintained and our 2-bedroom bure was clean, spacious with great air con and fabulous outdoor shower. Lovely outlook of the beach and lagoon from the restaurant, bar and pool area with lots of places to relax around the pool. Could do with more loungers on the beach for those not in a beachfront bure. Meals were mostly excellent or very good, far better than what we had at a 5 star resort in New Caledonia. Dinners are five courses which was actually too much for our family to eat without feeling absolutely stuffed, so ended up skipping some of them! Lots of daily activities to choose from and the ones we tried were well-run and interesting. They even arranged a fishing charter just for my husband and son. The whole family loved our time at Blue Lagoon and would happily return again.

I went to the island with my parents and children and we had the BEST time. The staff are so so so lovely, welcoming and genuinely care about your stay and experience. We enjoyed the most delicious 5 course dinners, the kids loved the kids club - eating dinner with friends and watching a movie while we were constantly entertained with lots to do. There are daily activities - snorkeling, paddle boarding, cave dive, an unforgettable village and school visit and more. If you want to have a wonderful stay and REALLY experience the culture of Fiji, this is the place for you!

We found a true piece of paradise at Blue Lagoon. Location: we could walk out of our beautiful villa and straight onto the beach. The water is an insane blue for swimming with a coral reef for snorkeling that you can explore at both high and low tides. The resort is small enough that our kids could safely wander unattended from kids club, to the restaurant to the villa. People: due to the smaller size you are able to get to know the staff who were all absolutely divine. They made our trip so incredibly memorable and were so beautiful with the kids. Food: the five course dinner each night never failed to impress. It exceeded our expectations. A big plus - the kids can have an earlier dinner at 6pm then to the kids club allowing my husband and I to have a romantic dinner. It would be an absolute shame to come to Fiji and not experience the beauty of a Fijian island with the warmth and relaxation that the Blue Lagoon delivers. If I am to provide any constructive feedback, it’s to fire up that sea plane again as the 4.5hr ferry journey (as worthwhile as it was) can be taxing with 3 small kids. We only left yesterday but we already miss the resort and all the staff there!!

We spent a week at Blue Lagoon in a palms villa. The location is amazing, with a sandy beach, clear water, great snorkelling and beautiful sunsets. There was a mixture of people there when we stayed, not just families, and it never felt crowded. We were always able to get a seat for drinks, meals or by the pool. Our villa was huge with enough space for two adults, three teenagers and a child. Comfortable beds, air conditioning and the an outdoor bathroom. Food was great and meal sizes good, we never felt hungry between meals. Staff were attentive and kind. We transferred on the Yasawa flyer and although it was 4.5 hours, it was an interesting trip. My only advice for the flyer would be to consider the captains lounge if it's raining. It was raining on one of our trips and the main cabin was packed with people

We recently had the pleasure of visiting the magnificent Blue Lagoon in Fiji, and we must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the stunning beach to the delectable food, luxurious rooms, and exciting activities, every aspect of my experience was nothing short of spectacular. Beach Bliss: The Blue Lagoon boasts one of the most breathtaking beaches we have ever seen. The crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and lush tropical surroundings create a postcard-perfect setting. Whether you're lounging on a beach chair, strolling along the shore, or indulging in water sports, the beach offers a serene and idyllic escape. Culinary Delights: The resort's culinary offerings were very good. From the moment I arrived, I was treated to a feast for the senses. The on-site restaurants featured a diverse range of cuisines, expertly prepared by talented chefs. The curry was very delish. The dining experiences were complemented by attentive service and breathtaking ocean views, making each weal a true delight. Lunch is simple but you will find great burgers or salad. Breakfast has full fair with half continental, half by order. The curry was very delish. Luxurious Accommodations: The rooms at Blue Lagoon provided the perfect blend of comfort and luxury. My spacious suite featured elegant decor, plush furnishings, and modern amenities. The attention to detail was evident, with a private deck with day bed offering panoramic views of the lush gardens or the azure lagoon. The room's serene ambiance and comfortable bed ensured a restful night's sleep, setting the stage for a rejuvenating vacation. The stunning outdoor shower was a bonus. Thrilling Activities: Blue Lagoon offers an impressive array of activities for all types of travelers. Whether you seek adventure or relaxation, there is something for everyone. I had the opportunity to go on snorkeling excursions, exploring vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. The resort itself has a healthy reef with lots to see including a house turtle who is very curious with the human life. The resort also offers guided island tours, kayak rentals, and sunset cruises, providing ample opportunities to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The knowledgeable and friendly staff made sure each experience was both safe and unforgettable. A highlight is visiting the blue lagoon caves where the 1980 film Blue Lagoon film was made. Staff: All staff were extraordinary nice and attentive. From the moment they sing upon arrival they know your names and rooms. Bula’s are never forgotten, and conversations flow nicely. Staff are generally interested in their guests and making sure everyone is satisfied. A special recognition of the evening entertainment team, dive team and Assistant Manager. Our at Blue Lagoon, Fiji was a truly exceptional experience. The combination of a breathtaking beach, tantalizing cuisine, upgrade accommodations, and exciting activities created a vacation that will forever be etched in our memory. We wholeheartedly recommend Blue Lagoon to anyone seeking a paradise getaway, where every aspect of their stay is meticulously crafted to deliver an unforgettable experience.

This was such a beautiful place to celebrate a major birthday with my family. The beach, pool area and reef are accessible and lovely, as are the walks around the area. The view from the main track is well worth the effort. The villas are extremely comfortable with with big beds, comfortable pillows and gorgeous outdoor bathrooms. The food was excellent and the drinks were generous. Thank you especially to Ana, Mari and Pat who made all of us, including a busy two year old, so welcome. Also Chantel and Stefan - it was a pleasure talking with you.

This was my 6th visit to Fiji and my 3rd visit to the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort. Previously, I was here in June 2019 & September 2022. To be honest, the room rates, price of the meal plans and the price of the drinks from the bar have increased since the beginning of this year, in tandem with the rising costs of the essential supplies and logistics for everything that needs to be shipped out here. This trip, I traveled here together with my uncle, just as I did in 2022. Here is the breakdown my review: 1) Accommodation: In September 2022, my uncle and I stayed in Garden Villa 8 for 7 nights. For this visit, I had booked the same room for 5 nights. However, we received a complimentary upgrade to Beachfront Villa 5 for all 5 nights! SUPER AWESOME! Loyalty does pay off!!! Many thanks to Vika, the assistant general manager of this resort, for the free upgrade! The Beachfront villas have air-conditioning and a flat-screen TV with a hard-disk full of movies and popular songs. The TV in the rooms don't have any live channels, the only TV that has live channels, such as sports and news channels, is located in the sandy lounge, next to the restaurant and bar area. 2) Activities: During this visit, my uncle decided to try scuba diving for the first time ever, so he did the PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) course. PADI dive instructor Hannah, who is also the dive center manager, was my uncle's instructor and she is the most patient and friendly dive instructor that I have ever known. My uncle is almost 70 years-old and hasn't spent much time in fresh or salt water. It took him a while to get used to the regulator recovery skill, the clearing of the 2nd stage of the regulator and the clearing of water from his mask. Hannah patiently guided him through each and every step of these skills until he eventually completed all the 3 skills. After that, Hannah brought my uncle out to the open sea for a boat dive, as part of the DSD program. I am a PADI Advanced Open Water diver with 80 logged dives, and Hannah allowed me to tag along. We went diving at a dive site called the Cabbage Garden, which had a maximum depth of 12 meters and zero currents. Overall, my uncle had a very enjoyable time with his first ever scuba diving experience and his wish of trying out scuba diving was fulfilled during this holiday! A HUGE THANKS to Instructor Hannah for fulfilling my uncle's wish! She is indeed a splendid dive instructor for complete beginners and for those who lack confidence in the water. As other guests have mentioned, the house reef of this resort is HUGE! My uncle and I went snorkeling and swimming everyday and we still didn't feel bored. Everyday, we saw different things in the house reef; the most notable marine creatures that we saw were 2 juvenile spotted eagle rays which live in the vicinity of the artificial reef installation right next to the house reef. These artificial reefs were designed, built and installed by Counting Coral, an organization which focuses on coral rejuvenation projects. All in-house guests of this resort are allowed to use the snorkeling equipment, kayaking equipment and stand-up paddle boards free of charge. If water-based activities are not your cup of tea, you can always go hiking up the hill behind the resort or go for a stroll on the beautiful 1-kilometre long beach which has the finest sand of any beach in the world. Other complimentary activities here include: morning yoga, basket weaving lessons, kava drinking in the evenings, beach volleyball with the staff, pool volleyball on some days if there are enough participants, crab racing and Fiji trivia competitions once a week. Activities which cost some additional fees are: boat snorkeling excursions, scuba diving, village visits, sunset champagne tubing and the cave trips(highly recommended). 3) Food & Beverage: The food here is AMAZING! Especially the 5-course Ala-carte dinners! You have to experience it to believe it! The Fijian Meke dinner on Friday nights are also a real treat for first-time visitors to Fiji. This is a cultural performance combined with a buffet dinner featuring authentic traditional Fijian fare. The bar is open from 7.30am until late at night, you can order a wide variety of specialty coffees and milkshakes to fruit smoothies and signature cocktails for some additional fees. 4) The Staff: They are absolutely the most genuine, warm and friendly people, ever! The staff remember your name from the first day onwards and they also remember your personal preferences regarding special drinks & food. There is a live band who performs popular mainstream English-language songs and Fijian songs during the dinner service from Monday to Saturday. Guests can join the band on the woven palm mat after dinner and sing along or have some kava. I wish to thank Vika, Hannah, Ana the dive center assistant, Seta, John, Apa, Tamboti, Linda, Timah, Sala, Mari, Maria, Ana in the restaurant, Sulu and several other staff whom I forgot their names. The staff are a crucial factor which helps to give every guest a sensational holiday experience! Kudos to all of you and please keep up the great work! Lastly and not least, I wish to thank Stefan & Chantel, the newly appointed general managers of this resort, who work tirelessly 24/7 behind the scenes, to ensure that everything runs smoothly. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please help to preserve and protect the house reef as well as any coral reefs you might encounter during your holidays around the world by NOT standing on, touching and walking on it, during low tide or otherwise. I highly recommend this resort to anyone(families, couples & individuals) who are looking for a relaxing beach holiday in a dream-like natural setting without crowds and noise.
