I would highly recommend this place, apart from the magnificent views, the beautiful Cascina is one of the most welcoming B&B I have ever visited..Super clean, wonderful setting, comfortable rooms and great hosts. Vicki and Per go out of their way to make you welcome.
The house is magnificent. The view is amazing. Owners Vicki and Ren are very kind, positive, sympathetic with friendly attitude that made our stay there fully enjoyable. The house is in perfect place to visit nearby towns of Asti, Alba, Acqi Terme and Alessandria and numerous nice places in Monferrato.
Per and Vicki went out of their way to help me with a serious problem I had on my trip, so I'm strongly biased in their favour. Even without that, though, Raggio di Sole would have been getting five stars. The house is beautiful, a large, renovated traditional building, full of character. The room was spacious, clean, and provided with everything I could have wanted. The view from the terrace is stunning - as one of the other reviewers said 'a haven of peace and tranquillity'. I'd booked dinner too - and it was superb (as was breakfast). What started out as a business trip ended up as a stay with friends. I'll need to be visiting the area regularly, so will only need to find somewhere else if (sadly) Raggio di Sole is booked.
We were there for one Night (2 Adults) If you are in the Area Nizza we really can recommend this Place to stay. The Owners are very kind. The place itself has a great view. The rooms are very clean and the sleeping rooms is very nice furnished. When you arrives the Owners offer you some great vine and small foods. We going back there once!
Stopped in Nizza Monferrato for the night and stayed here for one night (pity it wasnt for longer). The place is a haven of peace and tranquillity where you forget the hustle and bustle of modern life, but naturally still having modern day comforts. On the plus side the hosts treated like VIPs and we had a jolly good time. If Nizza Monferrato is your destination or even if you are passing through and you require a place to stay to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, then this is the place for you.
Last January we needed to stay a couple of days in an hotel or B&B near Nizza Monferrato. We choosed Raggio di Sole because it was the nearest B&B near the place we had to go to. What a suprise! We staid in a big room (en suite) with a magnificent view on the valley and vineyards. Everything was clean, cosy. Privat bathroom modern and warm. Because the weather was not really great we had to spend more time in our room but we were friendly invited to come down and sit with the host and his wife near the fireplace. Nice and friendly people. House is not easy to find. Free breakfast was excellent!! It was a great pleasure to be at their place.
Nice room with private bathroom and a lovely view.. We enjoyed both the view and the surroundings that gives you every possibility for trekking, visiting wineyards and so on. The B&B is placed centrally for excursions to Alba, Asti, Barolo, Aqui Terme and other wellknown and unknown locations. Vicki and Per are exellent hosts and very helpfull. You can allways ask them for there advise on excursions, dining and attractions. We highly recommend a visit to Cascina Raggio di Sole :-)
We spent three wonderful days. The house is secluded, but only a short distance from Nizza Monferrato and is close to several high quality vineyards. Vicki and Per are wonderful hosts and the rooms are large, clean, airy and well furnished. The view is breathtaking!
Stayed here for a couple of weeks in September. Got to check out the vendemmia, travel around Asti, Barolo, Barbaresco and of course NIzza. Vicki and Per were both very hospitable. Thank you! :)
I visited Vicky and Per for 2 nights in May, coinciding with my wife's and my 25th Wedding Anniversary. We flew into Torino airport and were very kindly picked up by the warm and welcoming couple. We drove straight to their farmhouse (Cascina Raggio di Sole) which is very close to Nizza Monferrato and bang in the centre of a UNESCO World Heritage site. And what a place! I don't think I have every stayed in such a beautiful location. The house is nestled under a quiet road at the top of a hill and the front lawn overlooks the most incredible vista of vineyards as far as the eye can see. South facing too, so the sun shines onto the house all day. The couple, together with their little cat Georgina, are so welcoming and kind. Vicky is an excellent cook and both are fantastic company. We did not have a car (which is highly recommended) so they took time out to drop us into town and pick us up after we were done. The food, both Vicky's and that found in the many restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns, is excellent as can be expected in such a location, as is the wine. Definitely recommended for a relaxing break amongst friends!…
