Nestled along the pristine Beau Vallon beach, the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa has been lauded for its serene atmosphere and extensive amenities, including a large pool and dining options catering to adults and children alike. While its beachfront location earns high marks for convenience and natural beauty, opinions on value are mixed; many guests feel the costs for food and additional services don't match the quality provided.
Rooms are spacious but have received criticism for maintenance issues. Service quality appears inconsistent, with experiences ranging from exceptional to subpar.

Our meeting and check-in was handled by the wonderful Aliya. Professional, hospitable person and a very beautiful girl! A pleasant surprise from her was the room upgrade! I read in some reviews about the outdated and not very fresh condition of the hotel, I strongly disagree. The furniture upholstery in the room, on the balcony and in common areas is new and clean, no mold was noticed, the area is well-groomed, the grass is constantly mowed, small local repairs are underway. Breakfast starts at 7 am, but a continental breakfast is available from 5.30 am, which is very convenient if you go early on a trip to the islands or on an excursion.

Me and my Wife visited this hotel for the second part of our Seychelles 15th wedding anniversary trip so we could see the sights of Mahe!! We stayed for 5 nights, and I’ll be honest, this is not a 5-star hotel but has some good things going for it.
The location of the hotel is in the Northwest of the island on Beau Vallon beach with plenty of amenities nearby. The hotel has a section of Beau Vallon beach just a few steps from the hotel and is only 15 minutes by car to Victoria, so the location is perfect to visit Mahe.
We went for one of their standard rooms and got allocated 1119 which was attached to the main building and had beautiful mountain views. The best thing about the room’s location was it was away from the North side next to the Bazar Labrin Market and we had covered access to the main restaurant. The room was very spacious, and we went for the half board option, but no alcohol was included. The price of beverages was very expensive given the options around the hotel, but you did get bottled water every day so that was very handy.
There was a live band every few nights and they setup at the main restaurant, but you would not be able to hear them at the Gecko Bar and just barely at the Pescado Restaurant by the pool. The hotel did not offer any free water sports activities, but the spa was open to all at the time we were there, so good for those who like that little bit of luxury. The main pool was in the centre of the property and wow!! what a pool!! By far this is the best pool I’ve every swam in that was attached to a hotel I’ve visited and was their gem in my opinion.
One of the highlights of the hotel was the food at the Pescado Restaurant and if you love fish, then this is the place to go!! We dined there for their fish market night and wow, what a delight. We had our last meal at the Gecko bar which was also very good and wished we dined here in the evening as its located next to the beach. The food at the Grand Savoy (main restaurant) was a mixed bag. The seafood and Southern Asian nights where absolute brilliant, but the Creole and Arabic nights where not as good. Don’t get me wrong, the food generally here was very good, but it was like their best chefs had their days off on the Creole and Arabic nights.
The service in my opinion was also a mixed bag, every member of staff was polite and helpful, but you could tell who had previous experience and that ones who didn’t. We did make management aware of this and it was good to see they immediately made changes. The manager Sergie did talk to us and made us ware that they had a lot of trainees onboard so forgivable. I also did appreciate Naomi chatting to us for feedback so that they could make changes and improve service.
Overall, I loved our visit here but would hesitate to return if not for the location of the property, the magnificent pool and the Pescado Restaurant, a bit of a conundrum for me. With the hotel’s location, you could hire a car to explore which we did through Mein’s Car hire via Mason’s Travel but, there were so many amenities nearby, you could tick off a lot of boxes on your holiday in Mahe basing yourself at the Savoy.

We spent 10 unforgettable days at this hotel. At the 3:00 a.m. check-in, Denis met us at the front desk, arranged two rooms next to each other very quickly. Beau Valon Beach is really chic, very soft sand when entering the water, the water is clean and clear. Breakfast might have been better, but it's like everything's there, but it's not tasty, it feels like they're frying eggs and pancakes with pancakes on some kind of butter that they never understood, but certainly not sunflower, creamy or olive, most likely canola oil or anything. There are two restaurants besides the Grand Savoy, these are Pescado and Gecko Bar. Mostly we dined at Gekko bar, chef cooks perfectly all dishes👍 The girls from the Mi and Zin service staff were very pleasant and helpful, excellent service in this bar with beautiful ocean views!!!

We returned from the Savoy Hotel last week. We were a family of five. If you have stayed at 5 start hotels in the past this hotel is not a 5 star standard hotel. The grounds of the hotel are nice but the rooms are old and dated. The shower had mould growing.(pics attached) The beach is not well maintained. There are lots of leaves from the trees all over the sand. When we visited other beaches on the island they were kept much cleaner and leaves raked away. As another reviewer also commented, the reception staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked to speak to the reception manager (Natalia)regarding something I was unhelpful about and she was quite abrupt. It was a rainy day and I wanted to make a cup of tea in my room as we couldn’t go out anywhere The rooms have tea/coffee but no milk supplied. They only have Coffee Mate powdered milk. I was told if I want milk for tea this would be chargeable. When I spoke to the manager about how this is unusual for a 5 star hotel not to supply milk for tea she seemed very defensive and said she has worked in hotels all around the world and said her experience is milk is not supplied in rooms. I found her to be patronising. Just out of courtesy and good customer service it would have been nice if she had just offered a drop of milk for a cup of tea. In fact when I had asked for milk from the restaurant staff they proved me some in a little milk jug. The restaurant staff are all lovely but the reception staff are miserable. I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone.

The name Savoy Hotel promises an excellent hotel with great service.
Unfortunately, we found out that this is not true. It is shabby and would have been highly rated with 3 stars.
When we arrived, we had to lug our suitcases to reception ourselves (5*!!). When we checked in, there were empty glasses from other guests on the table and the welcome was anything but friendly.
The seats of the buggy that took us to our room with our luggage were so wet that we were soaked through to our underwear.
When we entered the room, we were met with the smell of vinegar. We only noticed afterwards that this was to combat the mold in the shower.
The rooms are spacious and practical, the beds comfortable. Several bottles of water were provided every day and regularly replenished.
The pool is huge, the water very clean. There are also enough loungers and the towels are changed as often as you want.
There are also enough loungers on the beach.
The buffet restaurant is mediocre at best. Some of the food was not freshly prepared. Pancakes that have been under a heater for a long time don't taste good.
The prices for drinks were definitely 5* level. Wine is significantly more expensive than in the other 5* hotels we stayed in on this holiday.
There are too few staff in the restaurant, even if the few employees try hard. So plates and glasses remain on the table for much longer than necessary.
This means that pigeons and cats eat the leftovers on and around the tables.
Unfortunately, guests with poor table manners are also to blame for this. It is not in line with our eating habits when a couple fills six plates at the same time, puts half in bags and takes them with them, and leaves a large part of the rest.
Another couple first lured the pigeons over and then let them eat from the same plate with them.
Unfortunately, we have to say that the Savoy was the worst of the three hotels on our trip and that spoiled the end of our stay a little.
We cannot recommend the Savoy.

You can’t go to a savoy hotel without some expectations of excellent service. Especially at 1000 euros a night. Sadly our expectations of a 5 star experience were dashed.
The toilets in reception (our first impression of the hotel) were filthy. Scuffs and dirt up the cubical walls. Unflushed toilets. Clearly no attention to this cleanliness detail. The pool towels can only be issued with a special card (which we didn't have enough of for our family), and the place is covered in signs of “do not do this” and “do not do that”. Making the whole vibe of the shared areas “officious”. Our son cut his foot on broken glass at the pool area. The pool staff administered competent first aid, but no one from the hotel apologised or checked on him. The lack of maintenance in the room is evident too. The air con sounded like a plane taking off, and could not be turned off. There is no pillow menu (something even a premier inn manages to do!) so you have to make do with the doorstep pillows supplied as standard. The tiling in the bathroom is poor. The handle on the kettle was broken off. And the food and drinks are eye watering expensive and decidedly average. If they arrive at all!
We saved hard for a once in a lifetime experience in the Seychelles, and the savoy disappointed at every turn. To be considered 5 star and charge the high prices that go with that, the experience has to excellent. It was not even close. And perhaps the largest disappointment was the staff. There were pockets of smiles and kindness (the housekeeping, for instance), but most of the staff customer facing staff were surly and disinterested. In my experience this is usually because the management of the enterprise sets that tone. For us the savoy brand has been significantly tarnished, and after 3 nights here we can’t wait to leave. We will never return.

Where to begin with reviewing our fantastic stay at Savoy Seychelles resort & spa in October 2024. This trip will always be very special to us as we got engaged during our stay and the hotel could not have been more helpful with planning the proposal prior to the trip and assisting on the day. We will start with our review of this experience and will then follow on by reviewing our general stay at the hotel. This will be a longer review, but I urge you to read all!
Prior to arrival, I reached out to the hotel and spoke with Dorothy, Arun and Deb who were a key part in the success of the proposal. They answered every question and concern, advised me on how they suggested setting up the day and genuinely cared and wanted to help me pull off the proposal I had envisioned. They even helped me find a local photographer to capture the day (which was a big concern) On the day, the set up had been completed by Deb and Sushil. My soon to be fiancee and I made our way down to the beach and my accomplices were on hand to secretly pass me the ring and a glass of champagne after I had popped the question! But it didn’t stop there. We had a beautiful private 3-course dinner on the beach where Sushil and Deb continued to wait on us for the entire evening and no request was too much for them. Even assisting with taking photos. If you want to use the Savoy for a special occasion such as proposal, birthday, honeymoon etc you won’t be disappointed!
Our stay in general was just as successful as the proposal. They left a congratulations on our bed the following morning and a thank you card on the day we checked out. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing, we were so impressed with the service. We especially need to mention: Mi, Sushil, Deb, Panan, Angelic, Aliya from Guest Services and the ladies in the Spa. Our room was lovely and very clean. As well as the usual cleaning of the room, housekeeping come by at 6PM each evening to see if you need anything else for the night. We had breakfast included in our stay and again, this did not disappoint. There were slight changes made to the breakfast each day to ensure a variety of foods and not always eating the same thing. The amazing guest relation manager, Aliya checked on us and other guests each morning to ask if we were satisfied with our stay so far and could she do anything to assist with our stay. We thought this was a fabulous touch as it showed the hotel genuinely cared enough to check in on the guests daily. All these extra touches mentioned above really do add up and equate to a fabulous experience where you feel important and cared for. The pool is well kept and spacious. Other facilities such as gym, tennis courts, spa and beach are also a highlight of this hotel. We had a couple of massages during our stay and were very pleased with them!! The spa is gorgeous and I recommend getting a treatment during your stay! We also highly recommend Gecko restaurant, we ate dinner here a few nights and the food is fabulous!! We genuinely could not have asked for a better stay and would love to come back again! Thank you Savoy and your fabulous team!!

I was on holiday with my children during the school holidays. The children and I are absolutely delighted - a wonderful warm ocean, a comfortable beach with sun loungers, delicious varied food (even conservative children found a lot of tasty things). I read a lot of negative reviews about Beau Vallon beach and, having traveled around the beaches of Mahe, Praline and La Digue, I was convinced that there is nowhere else better than Beau Vallon in terms of the quality of sand and cleanliness of the ocean. The Savoy Hotel has the standard full range of services: from a wonderful SPA, to a choice of excursions for every taste, car rental, a separate fish restaurant and a bar with international cuisine. The Russian-speaking employees Sergey and Aliya were very helpful at the reception. Aliya accompanied us in all our desires - she helped us rent a car (within 20 minutes the car was already at the hotel), recommended specialists in the SPA area, helped with the choice of excursions, was friendly and made our stay very pleasant! What was important for the children was that there were absolutely no insects in the rooms, the air conditioner was conveniently located at the entrance, water supplies were replenished twice a day, beach towels could be changed several times a day. I recommend a holiday in Savoy to everyone!

We had a family vacation from November 11 to November 22, 2023 - we stayed at the Savoy Hotel for the entire vacation. We really liked the hotel!! Large, beautiful, well-groomed area. Several restaurants. We had 2 rooms of the “standard” category: clean, comfortable, spacious. Cleaning took place every day + in the evening they offered towels and water upon request, which we really liked. The hotel is located on Beau Vallon beach - the beach is clean, beautiful: white sand, no algae, the entrance to the water is pleasant. In good weather, the ocean is beautiful and transparent. In bad weather, the sand rose, brought some leaves and small waves - this did not interfere with swimming. We visited several beaches on the island. Mahe - for our taste - Beau Vallon is the cleanest, calmest and most pleasant for swimming. I would come here with small children! The beach is equipped with sun loungers, and there is a shower with fresh water nearby - which, for me personally, is always a huge plus - you can wash yourself off the salt water. 😍 You can take towels on site (by the way, the towels were good). We had breakfast included: the breakfasts are really the same, but nevertheless delicious. To choose from: eggs, cereals, fruits, a variety of buns, cold cuts and cheeses, and complete carbohydrate and protein offerings. There are a variety of drinks - even champagne 🤗. Dinners are different every day of the week: according to the cuisines of the world. At the restaurant next to the pool, we really liked how they cooked the lobster on the grill. 👌🏻 The bar has delicious cocktails. There are several decent restaurants near the hotel - you can Google them - we visited them and were satisfied. There are also local shops nearby where you can stock up on essentials. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very pleasant Russian-speaking hotel guest relations manager, Aliya. She offered refreshments and showed us to the rest room while we were checking in. We would like to say “thank you very much”: Aliya did everything throughout our vacation to make it easy and pleasant! 😍 We would also like to note the work of the waiters from the main restaurant: Sofia and Praveen - very pleasant, attentive and friendly, they remembered what drinks our family likes. This is very nice. In general, our stay at the Savoy Hotel was a great pleasure - all the staff were pleasant and tried very hard to make our stay as great as possible! Everyone wants to say: “Thank you very much!” If we come to Mahe, we will stop here without hesitation.
Ps: I would like to add that the Seychelles islands are, of course, a special place! In my opinion, it is unlike anything else. There is a special atmosphere here: you relax and unwind, and just enjoy life! The music here is great, and the locals seem to know some secret of “happiness.” They just enjoy life as it is! Seychelles is about Seychelles!

We went to this hotel as a family; we had a 13-year-old child with us. We had a Junior Suite room. The hotel is very good. There is a large green area, the pool is beautiful, large, 1.45 m deep, but there are smaller places, and small children can easily splash around on the wide steps to enter the pool. The beach is wonderful – the sand is fine, it’s very pleasant to walk, the beach is cleaned regularly. There seemed to be a lot of people, but they were somehow dispersed throughout the territory and the beach, and no one was sitting on each other’s heads, that is, there was a certain feeling of privacy. When we arrived, there were waves in the ocean, but that was good, it was more interesting to swim. The food at the hotel is excellent, we took breakfast and dinner and did not regret it even once - an excellent cook, everything is fresh, of high quality, and you can always find everything to suit your taste. For lunch we supplemented with burgers and pizza from the local take away. The waiters are very helpful. There were a lot of fruits, but mostly the ones we were used to - apples, pears, tangerines, melons, watermelons, but there were also pineapples, sour cream, papaya, and mango. Because of the storm, we weren’t able to go to other islands, but we rented a car and drove around the island, to other beaches - everywhere was beautiful! We rented a car through the hotel manager Aliya - without any problems or problems at all, and the car was fresh. In general, the hotel staff resolved our issues very quickly and gave excellent advice. Wi-Fi is good, the child studied online easily. The room cleaning is simply excellent, very clean and high quality, there are always plenty of towels, all the linen is snow-white. The hotel is within walking distance of a pharmacy, grocery stores, a bus stop, and an exchange office with a good exchange rate. We went on a tour of Mahe with a local Russian-speaking guide, Zakhar, and had an amazing experience. We also walked independently along the mountain trail to Anse Major beach - also an interesting adventure and incredibly beautiful nature. Wonderful people work at the hotel. Simply an amazing employee Sergei - a very attentive, caring, pleasant person who did even more for us than we asked. He is always ready to help and does it with pleasure. Such a positive and friendly employee - it is extremely rare that we have met such people before. We express our deep gratitude to Sergei and Aliya for their participation in making our vacation unforgettable. And in general, I would like to note that the entire hotel staff is responsive, attentive, friendly and ready to help, this is very pleasant for hotel guests. General summary - we liked everything very much, we spent a wonderful holiday in this hotel.

Although it's a nice gesture to give them something because of its closeness to the holidays... Seychelles is considered to be the wealthier of the African nations; not sure if they will be offended in anyway. I like the gesture though... it a good reflection of your personality... it comes from the heart.
