I was in Seychelles and booked this place for an emergency stay due to a false antigon test. I went to cancel at the front desk and they said they would cancel and coordinate with a booking agency to cancel. They lied an rocketed to charge me. These people took my money and I would recommend not staying with a dishonest hotel and staff and stay at the plenty of nicer hotels in Mahe. The place is run down and so is the hospitality. Stay away unless your desperate, which I was and then they will take advantage.
It was my very first time in the Seychelles, and I'm glad that I stayed here at the Coral Strand! Before I arrived, I did read many reviews here by others, and was worried about the many negative ones, but after staying there for myself for *10* nights, I can say for myself, how full of crap those 'bad reviews' are!!!! This place is amazing!!!! From the excellent food, to the almost picture perfect weather of every day, to the 'bath tub like water' of both the pool and indian ocean, to the staff, to the other guests: mainly, French, Russians, Deutch, et others etc.. I'm already planning to come back here again! My first room was 'back side view' then they moved me to 'ocean/pool view' - truly, spectacular!!! It's absolutely worth the 16hrs 35 min flight for me to come here! And I will return asap!…
This hotel is in a good location and the staff were efficient and friendly. It is let down by the building, our room was small, shabby and damp with a pervasive damp smell. The pool area is cramped with insufficient shade, the few sun beds with umbrellas were “bagged” by 8am… even though the occupants didn’t seem to be there! The beach is lovely but there was no available shade at the hotel. I guess it’s good value but it is certainly not 4 star.
I downgraded my expectations based on reviews but still disappointing stay. This was the first hotel in Seychelles that didn't offer us a welcome juice on arrival. It's a small thing, but always welcome in heat. Our room was a standard one ,number 217. It's on first floor if you opened blackout curtains people can see in would be better if voiles were provided too. There was mould on back of bathroom door which had been painted over. This was very lazy as just needed a bit more cleaning before painting. The shower was powerful but leaked all over bathroom floor if not careful as unit wasn't sealed. When the room was cleaned we had to phone to get replacement towels. We ate in the bar by the pool for lunch there was a mix up with the order I think new things had been added to menu that not all staff were aware of. I understand mistakes happen , but I had to raise it three times to get it fixed. When we booked the check out time was 11am during our stay staff tried to change it to 10am and then make out they were doing me a favour honouring original time. It just seemed a lot of work by me the customer to get any kind of service at all. The staff act as if they have a job for life and the customer is a pain disturbing them.…
We stayed 5 nights in April22, the food was really delicious with a wide choice everyday and the whole kitchen team was super friendly. I have a nut allergy and the kitchen team was very supportive so I could enjoy the buffet without worries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the honeymoon room whith a perfect view directly to the beach. Our highlight was the delicious food with the lovely staff.
This hotel is peculiar, first view I had my concern, the reception need renovation and the building itself needs some maintenance, but the rooms were good, already renovated and the special thing at this hotel is that you have the best sunset view from the Ocean Bar (the hotel bar) in front of the beach. I stayed a week at this hotel and every day at 6pm I was at the Ocean bar drinking a wine watching the best sun set view of the Seychelles Island. By the way, excellent food at the bar and excellent service, they also have live music. I highly recommend
We stayed for our sons wedding . We arrived at 6.50 in the morning as a party of 14 ,but could not access any rooms until 2pm. There was a place you could leave your luggage which was an unlocked room. We were told we could enjoy the full use of the facilities which were a pool and the sea..so after a lot of going through cases we all went and sat outside. The staff were welcoming, especially Esther and her team, but very laid back so after a long flight we were all shattered. The rooms are dated and we went half board but never got a drink with dinner and half the time we had pizza or rice. Food was terrible.. There is an off licence and shop a walk up the road where we found the water, juice cheaper. The beach was beautiful and we walked end to end with pit stops in between. Ganesh the restaurant manager literally made our holiday, he was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We did dive and went to long Island which was simply stunning. We also visited the tortoise but wear long trousers as we were bitten alive...…
A little late but what a memory. 20 years ago Sept 2002 my wife and I got married at this hotel, we had it all planned hand made outfits even wedding bands. On the first night we heard the hotel band playing so hired them to play on the special day. Seychelles felt like home everything was so special. Going through old photos recently and yep still married and all set to return to the I do venue. A truly memorable hotel hope it hasn't changed to much.
Needed something budget friendly in a convenient location and this hotel delivered. It’s classed as 4 star but I would give it a 3. Only spent a few nights here as I was only in Seychelles for meetings but for those of you who are used to the likes of Hilton, Kempinski and budget hotels like the ibis then don’t expect much at coral. The hotel needs a face lift What you will find at coral is a hotel managed by very friendly and helpful staff that is located in the center of beau vallon, on the beach. Surrounded by other bars, restaurants and hotels giving you other cost effective options if eating at coral isn’t for you. I would definitely come back if it’s for work but if I’m bringing a family or if you are a couple looking for something special then consider other options. Kudos to Jessica who was always friendly to us at breakfast and Esther at front desk who was on hand to help me with whatever I asked.…
Worst hotel of all 2021, bad service, bad rooms and expensive. What else? 1990 rooms totally old, they charge you for a bottle of water crazy money. The beach is really bad with some rivers filling the water with pii. Everyday they took all the towels and never returned it. Then u call reception lucky if someone pick up the phone. Really the worst experience ever.
