Spread over two altimetric levels, the one bordering the beach houses the Camping, Bar and Market area. On the terrace above, connected to the sea by a private road and two comfortable elevators, the buildings of the Residence formula and of the Hotel, Restaurant, Bar, Swimming pool, Amphitheater, Tennis and Soccer formula find space in the green of a citrus grove.

Nothing special village, quite dated and poorly maintained. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired both in the room and in the common areas (dining room,
swimming pool area and beach). Room 58, in which we stayed, would be totally in need of renovation. The old and worn wooden door has visibly rotten parts and peeling paint. Soundproofing is not included... from 5am you are woken up by the noise of machinery which, at a regular pace of 15 minutes, accompanies you until mid-afternoon. The sheets changed weekly were not replaced throughout the stay (11 days). The bathroom is no better placed than the room (with the exception of the probably new shower cubicle). The dining room staff, underestimated compared to the customers and without the right rotation, are left a bit to chance, without adequate training and in some circumstances rude beyond measure. The buffet is very repetitive both at breakfast and dinner and everything is offered cold (focaccias and pizzas, baked potatoes, mixed cooked vegetables etc, never a salad) without taking into account the fact that the quantity offered is not adequate for the customers. I would also like to make a note on the rudeness of many customers who, when the buffet opened, threw themselves in like a horde of barbarians, filling their plates in a totally unseemly and uncaring way compared to the other diners. . The dinner menu from which to choose between 2 first courses and 2 second courses varies every evening but they are very banal dishes not from a hotel restaurant but rather from a canteen. I would also like to point out the rudeness of the room staff for the paid breakfast on the last day. Room opening at 8.00am Taxi came to pick us up at 8.30am at reception which is about 400m uphill from the village. I asked in the evening if it was possible to have a tea and coffee a moment before and we were told that we had to use the external machine near the bar. On the morning of departure I take a tea from the machine but a little dirty water comes out, I ask the person in the room (open but with the buffet set up) for the courtesy of being able to personally add some hot water to my drink from the internal dispenser but I is denied. Only option suggested is to add cold water....REALLY RUDE.
The only positive note: entertainment that is not at all intrusive, lift to and from the beach located at a much lower level than the village
Ps on the site it is mentioned a market is just an extension of the beach bar where water and a couple of foods (pasta and juices) are sold for those who use the camping.

We stayed from 29/07 to 5/08
The village has a wonderful location, the beach is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen in that area.
The view and landscape are spectacular.
The decidedly old structure needs to be renovated, especially with regards to the furniture which is too minimal with little support. Upon our arrival the fridge was broken and the apartment was dirty.
We called immediately since after 6 and a half hours of travel I needed to fix things in the refrigerator, it took them more than half an hour to come, after several requests a technician finally came and confirmed that it was broken.
At least they changed that for us straight away.
The broom and dustpan were missing, the rag for washing the floor, a bucket which they provided us the following day after continuous requests, in short, without the essentials.
Even the kitchen utensils were inadequate, 2 large pots for pasta, a small saucepan and a colander, no coffee maker, upon our request we were told that it was not included and that it was written, it's not true, it's nowhere to be found.
The staff were friendly but not very present, upon our arrival they didn't tell us anything about how things worked in the village, we heard about the use of the lift via a key to be recharged based on how many trips we made to get to the sea by chance while he said to another customer.
Beach service we requested and paid for on site, but when we went down the lifeguard was told that we didn't have it
Another annoyance, the lifeguard had to call the reception who corrected the mistake
In short, it was an adventure.
Having said that, it was a beautiful week especially for the sea and the landscape which they truly deserve.
The entertainment team is made up of very young, friendly and entertaining kids who, with the little means they have, try to do their best and put in their utmost effort. Good at involving everyone.
In my opinion, given that a deposit of €150 is required in case of damage, the staff should accompany the customer to the accommodation (which was not done, we were only told where to go), and check that everything was working. Ours was right next to the reception and I would like to point out that to reach the swimming pool we had to go down a slope and then obviously go back up again under the sun. From the swimming pool you took the lift which took you down where you reached the beach through a tunnel.
Definitely a great convenience and it is also very suggestive.
Here I think that the village has a golden place in its hands and that it has a lot of potential, but it must improve in these aspects
to live up to its enviable position. I'm fine with the fact that there are suites but it's not like those who choose the residence formula should be treated differently by offering poor service.

Superdated structure well below the 3 stars that were awarded. sheets and towels for a fee. It's more of a campsite than a residence.

Beautiful place and well maintained pool with panoramic views.

Broken elevator one day we had to walk up to the pool then they provided a shuttle. Inadequate services.we had 2 single rooms, one without a drying rack. Requested repeatedly.we then got it after 3 days by pure chance from a staff member passing casually by us. In the 2 studios rented by us in one c were only 2 pots two in number no pan or pan. In the other the 2 pans both dating back to pre-Roman times.
Equally disappointing beach all downhill covered with pebbles of various sizes that forced us after a few days to buy shoes having noticed that most of the swimmers wore them.

Beautiful sea but not suitable for small children or elderly. It has numerous rocks at the water s edge even well away from the shore and not always clean. Normally agitated being exposed to winds without any protective barrier.
The town of Tropea very pretty and animated in the evening. Good restaurants.

It is the fourth year that I have chosen to spend my holidays in this enchanting place. I stayed there for three weeks and found the village being restyled and I really appreciated it. I had requested that the fridge be turned on the day before for some medicines to keep cold and they were activated promptly. Upon our arrival they explained to us the latest innovations introduced this year regarding payments by magnetic card and the device for using the elevators that take you to the beach. We were joined in the apartment by Mrs. Daniela who came to make sure of the cleanliness of the apartment and the presence of everything needed for cooking. There was a leak in the sink siphon which they took care of immediately, so no problem. I found the gardens more well-kept, the paths clean, the terrace covers all new, the gazebos by the pool that weren't there before, the campsite bathrooms whitewashed and the icing on the cake: the beautiful suites for those who choose the hotel formula. The entertainment guys are really good and above all they involve you without being intrusive, with discretion and professionalism they are capable of making you have fun. W the dream holiday with Alessandra, Gabriele, Beatrice, Aldy, Manuel, Peppe and Alessandro who is as good as bread. I will definitely return next year.

Village in an excellent position, one of the most beautiful seas I have ever seen, full of various types of fish. Our room was small and old, with a balcony that was impractical because it was very small, there was barely space for a drying rack, and a very old bathroom. Restaurant with sea view, decent food. We saw the new renovated rooms on the ground floor and they are really modern and functional, even with an outdoor shower on the patio. Despite small things to improve, I would happily return because the sea is incomparable.

Our recent experience at the Hotel Villaggio Marco Polo was unfortunately very disappointing, despite the reviews and the 3-star Ranking that had convinced us to book.

Upon arrival, after checking in (despite the fact that the room had already been paid for via Booking), we were required to pay the tourist tax again. After check-in, they showed us rather hastily where our Accommodation was, but we had serious difficulties finding it as the area is almost completely without proper signage.

While searching for Accommodation, we were greeted by unpleasant smells from the public bathrooms of the property, a situation that certainly did not make us feel comfortable. In the end, only after asking for assistance from the staff, we managed to find our accommodation.

Once we arrived at the door, we found water seeping through the badly assembled canopy, an already worrying sign. Inside, Accommodation turned out to be well below stated standards. The property was decidedly dated and neglected, with no air conditioners (only two fans for 4 people), only one set of towels for everyone, and no courtesy kit (shampoo, soap, etc.), which is usually provided even in the cheapest facilities. Some of the sheets were dirty, the fixtures were in a poor state and closed badly, and the hob was encrusted with limestone. The table on the balcony was also dirty, another detail that contributed to the overall feeling of neglect.

After experiencing these unacceptable conditions, we decided to immediately leave the keys and stay elsewhere. Despite everything, we were not even offered a partial refund, which further compounded our dissatisfaction.

We were very disappointed with this stay, and certainly the structure does not reflect the level of comfort you would expect from a 3-star hotel. We strongly advise the management to take serious steps to improve the maintenance and reception of guests.

We start from the scorching heat in the apartments, with only a noisy fan that helped x nothing, there are no mosquito nets and despite lemongrass and L'Autan we were massacred by mosquitoes, and I being allergic to wasps I slept with adrenaline on the bedside table.
Comfortable apartment to go to the beach, but unlivable we did not sleep for 1 week.
Television not working, shower clogged and the plumber after 10 phone calls arrived annoyed.
Bad restaurant, inadequate staff, poor food and even there without air conditioning.
We sweated to eat, too.
Beach bar with great potential, but either get spaghetti for €18, or packed sandwiches. At 8 o'clock it was still not open and after half an hour it had no croissants. The reception was at the entrance not reachable by elevator and if you had to load the card or key for the washing machine you had to do 200 meters uphill with 40 degrees (Train the bar staff for these things too difficult)
1 washing machine available for at least 300 people.
In the evening for those staying under there is a midnight curfew because then they turn off the elevator and you had to walk home.
There is a room to sell creams and products, but there is no medical and competent staff if there was an emergency.
For campers who could not go out with the vehicle even a mimarket for essential goods
Place and wonderful water and I hope in the future is managed by those who can enhance it

We stayed for a week choosing the apartment.
The house was quite large, but old, dirty and without air conditioning, we practically died from the heat.
They have the courage to ask for a €150 deposit for cleaning but they had to give the €150 to me because I had to clean the whole house. shower and taps encrusted with limescale, hair in the shower head, dust everywhere and ants.
The structure does not have a shuttle service, to the beach there was only the thrilling lift and a steep descent, in fact I informed the reception that I am claustrophobic and they didn't care, telling me that I could reach the beach on foot.
I do not recommend the restaurant formula because in the village there was a constant complaint from all the customers, because the food was limited and poorly supplied, the staff was incompetent, not very courteous and the room was dirty, so at least on this I was lucky.
At the end of my stay I booked the shuttle service to the station at the reception, paying a cost of €5.
I communicated that I had to be accompanied to the TROPEA station. But the driver left us at another station, as soon as we realized that it wasn't the right station since there was no sign outside, we immediately called the facility to inform them of what had happened, asking them to remedy this. mistake, but instead I was abandoned outside at another station with a small child, I asked almost begging if they would send the driver back to me since I had limited time for the
Train departure, but their response was "take a taxi, I'll leave you the number because the driver is on break now". It was a bad feeling to feel abandoned and unprotected, they were unprofessional and not very human. I strongly advise against it, especially if you are alone with children.

The owner screams and yells at the cell in front of the reception... here's our welcome, in the following days we heard him screaming on the cell phone ... dirty apartment , on our arrival had not been cleaned (towels piled up of those who had left prina of us ..) , we go out to give time to prepare it .. we find it dirty all the same, dated apartment and devoid of everything , a ceiling fan torments us creaking and you can not adjust the speed. (fast or off .). at 6 am the garbage truck outside our window stops there for a while 'and there is no way to sleep... bad restaurant and not cheap at all, sunbeds and umbrellas dated and rusty, tired and poor animation , the owner responds to reviews with a teasing tone as a response or responds to disappointed and angry people who "have Barbieritis" or suffer the lack of the Topper... no people just ask for respect, cleanliness , organization and education, I were him I would be ashamed but in that structure the shame do not even know what it is.My worst holiday.

Spectacular view of the most beautiful stretch of sea from Zambrone to Capo Vaticano. Transparent sea with Stromboli on the horizon. Quiet location but two km from Tropea if you want to enjoy the night life or embark for the Aeolian Islands. Very small pebble beach, a stone's throw from the characteristic rocks of Riaci and possibility of renting a boat, I recommend it, lots of small fish for those who love snorkelling. The resort is surrounded by greenery, renovated rooms, buffet breakfast, buffet dinner with a choice of two first courses, two second courses and dessert, simple but good dishes. Remember that it is a three star, the value for money deserves it. I forgot... very kind waitresses.
