We have stayed at this place before and had certain expectations. Before arriving, I received a call asking what time we would like to have breakfast the next morning. I answered that at 10:00 a.m. In the morning we came for breakfast at 10:00 a.m., the table was nicely laid, although the table itself was dirty and sticky. The food was rather tired, it was immediately obvious that these things had been served many times. The pancakes were completely burnt. We have had such a good breakfast here before, this was a big disappointment. In winter, there aren't that many places to eat on the island, so we took the hotel breakfast into consideration. From the conversation with the hostess, it turned out that there is an event planned for the evening at the hotel, which we didn't know about before and we certainly wouldn't come at that time, because we value privacy above all. We came in the evening so that a large number of people were at the table and we had to deliver under their eyes. At the same time, we had to sit quietly in our room all the time, we couldn't take the things we needed. In the morning, we came to eat at exactly 10:00, but this time there was another hostess who for some reason was waiting for us at 9:00. The food was completely cooled. It was ice-cold fried eggs with the same wilted meals we've already seen yesterday. And suddenly it turned out that at 12:00 another event starts in this room and the attitude towards us was in the style: "No davai hop-hop and go". The staff was literally lounging on the couch and looking down at us. Others clattered with dishes, made preparations. When we finished and started to move, the hostess stopped us and asked if we had paid yet. Hello people, if you get paid online too, please check it yourself and don't embarrass your guests. Our vacation was ruined this time for our not-so-little money. And please, already make a socket next to the bed so you can charge your phone at night. There is a possibility, even put an extension cord.…
My husband and I spent a honeymoon there, everything was great! The hospitality of the Dagen Haus family is admirable. The best part of the stay was waking up to the smell of pancakes :). We will be back to capture the magic!
Time slows down and the hazzle of the city escapes. Nice, quiet and clean housing with all modern neccessities can be found midst nature. Friendly and helpful staff, local foods and great hours of rest and quiet.
This was our first stay in Dagen Haus but definitely will not be the last. We booked two rooms and me and my husband were upgraded to Sauna Room. This is a great large room with special atmosphere. Everything is in the room including washing machine and fireplace, not speaking about the small fridge and private sauna. Breakfast was perfect and the omelet with cheese was delicious made from local eco ingredients. You can have every kind of freshly made coffee and enjoy it in the garden sitting in sun or shade. Each rooms is different and lovely. Since only 12 people can be accommodated at the same time then it is so quiet and personal feeling like you stay with your family. It was so sorry to leave since we only booked one night but as already said we will be back again since want to enjoy this great place again.…
Super hotel with manor feeling. Greate views. Super staff. You can as king or queen here. Come to explore the second largest island in Estonia and stay in Dagen Haus. There are different ruums - with sauna or with bath or with shower, stylish and cosy. You can grill your own food if you like or get your own house with friends
We had what the hotel refers to as a "room for young people" for two nights. The room itself (one floor up, staircase just inside the room door) was spacious for a couple, clean and had a window to either side of the house - leave them open and soothing nature sounds will include sheep and a variety of birds. The furniture was comfortable and in good condition, most importantly it enabled us to get a good rest for what we came for - exploring the island. Breakfast certainly deserves mention, especially for the locally made smoked lamb shank, the lamb pâté and butter with herbs. The omelet and pancakes were certainly the best seen in a hotel.
We stayed one night in Mõisakoha house- a house with sauna. We were positively surprised: rooms are simply, stylish and clean. Sauna was good (one thing, beware of the hot water pipe!) and breakfast delicious. Behind the fence were sheep with lambs and we fell asleep with birds singing. Adorable!
We stayed in Dagen Haus for one night on a cycle trip, but would have likes to stay longer. The guest house is adorable: stylish, cosy, peaceful and modern. We had a standard double room which was very spacy, views to both sides (garden and fields), clean & with air conditioning and really good beds. The service was really friendly with fluent English and also some Finnish. Breakfast was very, very good. There was no dinner in the guesthouse, but local Orjaku pub is in a walking distance, and restaurants in Kassari quite close as well. We also recommend cycling to see the views of the southernmost tip of Hiiumaa, Sääretirp (7 km distance), wool factory Hiiuvill after Kassari, and a bird tower in Orjaku. Next time we will try the sauna!
Definetly overpriced. Room showing signs of wear, aircon not functional (no cool air), floors are wooden with no carpets so everything is heard from other rooms. Bathroom really small, no place really for your shampoos, toothbrush, etc. Service not very welcoming, except for the lady serving breakfast- she was great!
Peaceful place, nice atmosphere, beautiful wiev, kindly personnel. I recommend this place to stay over night. We slept very well and had great time. Breakfast was delicious - better than in many hotels.
