The five hotels in Lethem I’ve roomed at are each hospitable, but Eco Hotel offers a different kind of experience because it is quieter, more business like. Don’t let the back road location cause you to stay elsewhere. Less road and foot traffic means you know who belongs in the hotel. Adequate security measures, internet, available breakfast (other meals catered), cable, desk, laundry service, and more make this an excellent choice. The friendly staff and the Kanuku Mountains are icing on the cake. When you and staff are on a first name basis, you’re not traveling, you’re home.
Large and spacious room. Comfortable lazy boy. Nice view of Kanuku mountains. Very breezy during the day. Clean room. Adequate ac. Mini fridge worked well. Complimentary milk, coffee and sugar. Secure room.
This was a memorable stay you have a chance to choose your local Guyanese menu, and the atmosphere was good for Guyanese foreigners returning for a vacation. The proprietors has several local organised trips and a foreign one to Brazil.
We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely hotel in Lethem. The staff and owners were great and even organised a trip for us to the nearby Kumu falls. (The owner Danny took us himself and was really informative about the Amerindian people and the area.)The rooms were big and we would've had a fantastic view towards the Kanuku Mountains but due to the time of year, they were not visible. There are plans to add a pool which would be a nice addition.
While the hotel facility itself may still be, as the brochure says, "a work in progress", the friendly, laidback yet attentive service and the absolutely delicious homestyle Guyanese meals are definitely not!! Daniel (aka Danny), the owner proprietor is welcoming, gracious and is a walking encyclopedia on everything Lethem and Rupununi!! Mervin is also a key member of the service team. But "chef Mary's" delicious Guyanese fare was my absolute favourite... I could have stayed just for her ambrosial meals and delicious local fruit juices. Thank you for making my short stay such a pleasant and satisfying one, Danny, Mervin and Mary. I was also pleasantly surprised by my large, spacious and very clean ( fresh smelling) standard room. Everything worked too: Hair dryer, mini fridge, microwave, bathroom fixtures, A/C and light fixtures. The Rupununi Eco Hotel is a bonus find in lovely Lethem! Will definitely go back and tell friends, family and colleagues about this gem! …
