Upon arrival, we were accommodated in a very bad smelling room. The housekeeping staff knew all about the smell, but the staff kept 'conveniently quiet'. When we complained, they did not do anything about it. We booked half-board, but found out during the week that you need to make a reservation at least 1-2 days in advance. Plus pay supplements for various dishes. The most horrific experience we had is a dinner at the Italian restaurant, where we were 'accused' of not making a reservation - as though trying to get a 'free' reservation. They only allowed us to stay to eat, when we refused to leave the place. Astonishing, during dinner we noticed that the place had numerous empty tables... We wrote an elaborate email to the hotel management. Never heard anything back- not even after a reminder. Terrible, expensive, overrating place with very lousy service

Lot's of opportunties to play Golf at nearby courses with reduced Greenfees. A number of local restaurants with very good food. Perfect to start a golf season (and get used to heavy windy condictions).

One week with friends at this resort hotel on the edge of the Balmer See, on the island of Usedom on the Baltic. Suniest location in Germany. Two well-done 18 hole golf courses, an extraordinary Asian pavilion for yoga, Thai massage, other spa treats, indoor and outdoor pools, wellness center and spa. Our package included seven nights, breakfast (buffet) and sit--down dinners (choice of meat, fish or vegetarian options), and seven days greens fees. For golfers, a relatively cheap chance to binge. The hotel was filled with serious golfers. We only did one round. The food is excellent, the service outstanding, the rooms very comfortable. Opportunities for long walks, bike rides, or driving tours of many small towns around the island. A great place for a week or two. We intend to return... highly recommended!

Picturesque hotel/spa with everything you could ask for. The spa is wonderful, the pool great all year, the restaurants fantastic and the breakfast plentiful. Very golf centered but nice for kids as I recommend the junior suites, they are very spacious, and good for families.

This area is obviously not well known outside the German and Danish community but is a terrific region to visit and the hotel and amenties are first class. We really liked the ability to choose between different evening locations ofr our meals and the wellness centre added the extra touch to the day's golf.

We've been in Balm now for about the 12th time and it's always great to come back. We mostly come here at the very beginning of the golf season in March/April when they offer great packages for very fair conditions. Yes, the golf courses don't have championship format but nice layouts and great surroundings with overlooking the sea etc. In combination with the restaurants and perfect wellness facilities it is almost is a unbeatable package even in the summertime. And if you want to spend some time at the beach it's just a 10-15 min drive.

Balmer See Hotel is pretty and charming. Too bad we experienced a series of mistakes by the service personnel: - Upon arrival, the receptionist gave us the wrong room number. I am happy that we asked for assistance to carry the luggage upstairs. - Wi-Fi connection didn't work on the first attempt. The receptionist created a new password, and it, uhm, kind of worked. The Wi-Fi connection is even poorer than the general UMTS connection in that area. I don't like to spend my vacation waiting for websites to open. - We enjoyed half board. On the first evening, the waiter brought us one wrong main course. - On the second evening, the saltimbocca came without sage and was too dry. - I booked a golf trial course. It was supposed to start at 9 a.m. but the teacher didn't show up. In every case, the staff reacted quickly and correctly (e. g., a reserve golf teacher came at 9:30) - but that's just too many mishaps for a three-night stay. Generally, the food is not very creative but good and solid. We enjoyed the wellness offerings, and the reception sent us a water boiler on request. If you book half board, make sure you reserve a table as early as possible - for the first evening, call them the morning before you arrive!

This hotel and resort is located in a quiet area of Usedom island. The main attractions are the two 18 hole and one 9 hole golf courses. Hotel guests enjoy a discounted greenfee, Accordingly, most guests come here to play a couple of rounds on the courses. In addition to the standard hotel rooms, holiday appartments are available too. The rooms are to a 4 star standard, with balconies or outdoor sitting areas. A indoor pool and several saunas are available to the guests, swimming in the lake is also possible. The staff was friendly and helpful, we had a few glitches in the room (light bulbs, fuses) wich were fixed on the next day.
