This family owned hotel is just beside the river, the room is spacious and you can get a really nice view to the river Rhein. The room is clean and tidy, nothing too modern but okay. The price is good value for money, however the best is the restaurant, which offers top quality food and wines from the family own...

This restaurant serves typical German food, which is prepared to high standards. The servings were generous. They also have a good selection of wine. Seating is available outdoors on warm days. Recommended.

Hotel Schoen is located in the small town of Assmanhausen, conveniently located near the train station and across the street from the stop to take a Rhine river cruise. Assmanhausen is a quaint, quiet town, and Rudesheim is a short drive if you want more restaurants and tourist shops. The hotel has been family owned for generations, and you can...

I was looking for a place close to the Frankfurt Airport where my wife and I could recover from a flight from Seattle before going on to a meeting in Weimar and Assmannshause and the Hotel Shoen struck me as the right combination. It was moderately priced especially for "half pension" (room plus dinner breakfast and dinner) and has many...

Very nice hotel, with excellent diner and wines (from the owners cave) Staff is very helpful and nice. In the summer the hotel is located in a very noisy point. Every hour a train is passing by and makes a noise. The windows don't have screens and it's impossible to open the windows and the light together (lots of mosquitoes).

After rejecting the town we were going to stay in we thought we would drive further on, so pleased we did as we found this lovely hotel. The hotel has a new part and the original hotel, we stayed in room five of the original hotel, loved sitting in the bay window and out on the balcony watching the traffic...

Spent a couple of night is a fabulous hotel overlooking the Rhine at Assmanshaussen. Our modern room (6) had a lovely view of the busy Rhine, a truly 'working' river, as well as a big terrace. The food was pretty good too!

Less than 45 minutes from Frankfurt airport, the perfect place to recover from jet lag. Spotlessly clean rooms a warm welcome from the owner, views of the busy ship traffic on the Rhine. The restaurant is very good with an excellent wine selection from the Schon vineyards, try the excellent Pinot Noir (Spaetburgunder). Lots of hiking/walking and excellent train and...

Hotel Schön has been lovingly maintained and thoughtfully updated with modern bathrooms, flat-screen televisions and other conveniences. We noticed tour package group members who had been pre-booked in a larger nearby hotels having dinner here and saying this was the best food they had eaten in Europe. Travelling north in the Rhine Valley Oct 22 we back-tracked a number of...

We spent 5 nights at this hotel. We were extremely pleased with the whole experience. The rooms were immaculately clean, and although there was a highway and railway nearby, the windows were well-soundproofed. We had a balcony which looked out on the river, very much enhancing our enjoyment of the room. The dining room was a real cut above. We...
