The location is absolutely stunning, although a car is necessary. After having stayed in some of Crete's towns, the relaxing surroundings, beautiful beach, and calm atmosphere were exactly what we wanted. The apartment (two bedroom) was clean and had all the amenities needed for a self-catering place, however there are three great tavernas in short walking distance. The view was sensational, and we spent most evenings watching the sunset from our terrace. The beach was directly in front of the apartment, and was spotlessly clean, and fairly empty. There is a hill and some steps down to the beach, but nothing too taxing. Special shoutout to the gorgeous Eleni on reception, who was so lovely and helpful, and even very kindly gifted us a lovely bottle of local wine when she realised we had got engaged during our trip! None of the bigger, higher-star hotels we visited provided such great customer service, which is invaluable.…
I stayed with my 2 children in the tower room. The room is potentially very nice. Set in olive tree forest and with view on the ocean (from the upper floor), the room is indeed nice. However, it requires refreshing. The staircase was tide and dangerous (especially at night for adults and children). The bathroom was very tide (clean) but no shower curtains. The sofa bed on the ground floor suits a child only. The floor was not very clean. it was very windy during our stay and since the doors are all loose, the were making noise along the night. It is very original and different; my children still loved it. It was good value for money though.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The view from the apartment was amazing and the staff was at any time helpful and friendly. The nearby sights were easily accessible by the bikes provided. To explore the island we would definitely suggest travelling by car. At the nearby sand beach it was easy to relax. All in all we would recommend staying there.
We stayed in a refurbished two bedroomed apartment for three nights. Could not fault the standard and ambiance of the place. Staff were so helpful and the on site taverna offered the freshest and most delicious food of all the Tavernas we tried.
If you want a night away , where you can stay somewhere slightly different, then the tower is the place for you .However it does come with some big warnings 1 You have to be pretty fit to access the beach without feeling like your legs turn to jelly ( ok it might be that I’m unfit, so let’s just say that if you consider yourself to be unfit , your going to struggle) 2 The only real option to sunbath etc is to use the beach . If points 1 and 2 don’t discourage you and you want a night away then the tower is perfect - TBH it oils be ok for longer stays but we found it to be quite small
Fair price, amazing location just above the sea, very clean, so polite and friendly and welcoming people, so quiet and peaceful, i really wonder if there is anything more that we could ask!! This is a paradise to escape from everyday troubles, calm and get a good recharge. We stayed in one of the little tower apartments and everything was perfect. To be honest, I am just waiting for the next weekend that we are going to come!!
What a fantastic place! We took the public bus from Chania for €9 each and used the bicycles at Fata Morgana for our stay. Not that we needed to get out: the place has everything we needed. Good food, relaxation and peace.
Very reasonably priced, overlooking sea from a cliff ( not too steep to walk down to beach) Apartment well equipped as 2 adults glad we had sea view and upstairs apartment not sure they’d be a view from ground floor but also think I’d worry about low balcony if I had young children when downstairs might have been better. The on site Taverna was very good Lovely walk along coast past an old monastery to Frangkastello beach
The spacious dock is situated in the middle of an olive grove and is relatively secluded as far as the location on Crete is concerned. To the next bigger place Plakias, it is more than half an hour serpentine drive. The restaurant belonging to the complex and the nearby beach section are acceptable. Except for a few small annoyances, the tap dripped in the kitchen, the fan in one room didn't work at first and the TV had to be installed first, The system and the service make a good impression. One has here its peace, if one wants and lies not far away from the well-known Samaria-Canyon. The facility is not necessarily inexpensive, but at the beginning of October we were satisfied with about 70 euros per night. Internet and TV programs are very good! Gerold and Sandra from Berlin
