Positives: -Fantastic beach and facilities -Friendly staff -East is by far the most superior restaurant on site -Comfortable beds -Cleanliness of rooms, particularly the daily service -Seems to be great for kids -Wifi is generally good if you need to work. Negatives: -Limited management -Food prices are extreme. USD99 for two salads, a plate of fries and a beer. Definitely recommend the all inclusive package. -Food at Indigo (the largest restaurant) is poor to average. Lacks imagination and feels very monotonous. -Italian restaurant is mediocre too -Gym aircon was not working and constantly in a mess. Often no water to hand. Some equipment needs urgent replacing. (Cross trainer). Complained to the manager who said it’s been busy and was in complete denial. -Beach service very slow. 30mins for a drink. Difficult to find a waiter as they do not do “rounds”, often for more than 1-2 hrs. -Room interiors are looking a little tired and feel corporate. -Watch out for the pesticide gas on the back of a buggy which occurs every second day without warning! -Ridiculous use of plastic water bottles. Can you not provide water stations and CB branded re-usable bottles? -Grounds (not the gardens) are looking a little worn out. Would we go back? Yes, although we will select the all inclusive package and hope they make serious changes to the restaurants. There is fantastic food on the island (Jacqui O’s, Sheer Rocks, Catherine’s etc) so there are no excuses.…
I’ve experienced at my fair share of high end resorts but Carlisle Bay is by far one of the best ones I’ve stayed in yet. My room was directly on the sand and I only had to take a few steps before I was in the calm waters. The service is exceptional, ive never met staff as nice and eager to please. The smart layout of the hotel makes sure no one is too far from any of the facilities or restaurants. Although I prefer to vacation at a new location every time I will definitely be returning!
Being a frequent traveller Luxury hotels can mean so many things from exclusivity to extravagance; yet a genuine pleasure is simplicity and style. Carlisle Bay Antigua offers uncomplicated good taste in a winning location. My return visit was just as I expected spacious suites and delicious food . This hotel is run by an excellent team lead by Brian & Dionne. Don’t wait book if you want a luxury boutique hotel experience in the Caribbean. Do try cucumber gin cooler made by Chris - highly recommend
Stayed for a week over spring break and had a great time! Remote, peaceful, beautiful view. Kid friendly but quiet enough for couples. One restaurant currently, but it's on the beach, menu changed nightly, and food really good. We especially enjoyed our server Michael - very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about wine and spirit options. Free tennis, guided hikes, water sports, kids club, and fish food to feed the Koi out front - so a lot of options on the property. Be sure and rent a jeep for a few days to explore other parts of the island - west coast, English Harbour, East side of island - so many amazing beaches
We have just returned from a long stay, which was extended several times. The staff were amazing all of the time and simply could not do enough to help out. The general manager Brian led all of the staff in making sure all our requirements were met. They are amazing with the children and they were all able to feel totally at home. The staff always wore face masks and were very diligent in upholding COVID standards at all times, even Nigel and Ronnie, the amazing tennis coaches always wore their face masks. Will definitely be coming back,
