We spent a week at each and I have reviewed both hotels separately but this is the review title I searched for prior to booking. Both are amazing hotels, virtually next door to each other and in many ways very similar. Rooms - Based on our Bluff Suite vs two Junior Suites, Curtain Bluff is well ahead, driven by the standard of finish and furnishings. Food is comparable. If pushed i would give it to Curtain Bluff on quality and Carlisle Bay on variety although it’s very close and I would probably say Carlisle Bay’s Jetty Grill is the best of all the options. Service - again close with Bluff the most professional but Bay being more universally friendly. Facilities - this one goes to the well maintained tennis courts and gym of Curtain Bluff. Overall the extent and standard of facilities is better at Bluff. Waterskiing and trips out to snorkel the reef are included along with all the other non-motorised water sports that are common to both resorts. The beach is slightly better at Carlisle Bay and its Jetty Beach Bar is a small but beautiful spot. Clientele - Carlisle Bay is more British and Curtain Bluff more American. The average age of children is higher at Curtain Bluff with teens and university age dominating vs a more even spread at Carlisle Bay. So, which would I choose to go back to? Whilst I’d be happy to stay at either, I’m going to say my preference by a fairly narrow margin was Curtain Bluff, but it is more expensive……
This is by far the best hotel we have stayed at. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. The wine cellar is one of the best I have been to in the world. With extensive rare wine list and modern wines as well. The resort has loads to do, water skiing, Tennis, spa, snorkelling, diving, pickle board, basket ball, squash, gym , yoga, Pilates and aerobics. It is so picturesque location for all of these activities. Rooms and suites have fabulous views and very nicely decorated and well equipped. The management of the resort is by far the best we have seen around the world. With the owner living on the complex. Everything is cleaned and cleaned throughout the day. Nothing is to tough to ask for. They will arrange everything for you. The tennis coaches are superb with every age group and standard In my opinion this a must go too hotel resort, not cheap but well worth every penny. One place to go before you die. Trouble is you will want to go again and again.…
I would recommend Curtain Bluff for anyone needing to recharge their batteries. Antigua is a beautiful place and Curtain Bluff and its team of staff really made our stay special. Spa treatments, great cocktails, amazing food, and watersports. We enjoyed it all.
This was our first time in Antigua and at Curtain Bluff. The entire experience was amazing, notably the food quality and services, the range of activities and quality of the staff. We really like the “club like” feel to the place and would highly recommend it to our friends and family.
Just returned from a week’s stay and must say that the service was impeccable from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay. The food at all three meals everyday was five star, chef prepared. The water sports were great and the entire property was clean with enchanting landscaping throughout. We did not want to leave and will definitely go back! Thank you, Curtain Bluff!!
What a special place to visit. The staff and ambience were fabulous. Our stay was very personal, we were made to feel more like house guests than hotel guests. Incredible food, plenty to do if you want to be busy, but equally the perfect place to relax.
Our family of three (myself, my wife and our 21-year old son) just returned from our second visit to this fine resort and the experience was just as wonderful as our first time (maybe even more so). We first visited Curtain Bluff four years-ago and have been planning our return ever since then but with Covid, etc., it took us four years to make it back but it will not take us another four years to return. We were celebrating a milestone birthday for my wife and our son's college graduation (and the fact that he has his job all lined up) and the Curtain Bluff team could not have made our time with them more special. Obviously the resort itself (the grounds, the beach, the rooms, the food, etc.) is wonderful and absolutely top-notch but it is the people that really sets CB apart and in a class by itself. The genuine commitment to, care of and concern for all of their guest starts at the top with Chelle (who may be the most gracious individual in the world), Rob and Wendy but flows through the entire team and all aspects of the CB experience. I am hesitant to identify specific team members for fear of leaving someone off the list but Javid, Easy, Danny, Gino, Benn, Andre and TJ truly stood out and made us feel at home right from the start. Curtain Bluff is a special place and deserving of all the accolades it has earned. We can't wait to return!…
We absolutely adored our time at CB! Everything was immaculate & we felt utterly spoilt, pampered, and incredibly relaxed. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, the staff are incredible, and the food was delicious. The perfect luxury family holiday, we can't wait to return!
Privacy, food, and service was above and beyond! Breathtakingly beautiful views and rooms! Well worth the price… would stay again, and again, and again! There were plenty of water sports and activities to keep the kids happy!
Curtain Bluff resort is simply the best. Better than all the rest! From the greeting at the airport to the reception at check in to dining for breakfast lunch and dinner, to ultra-comfortable beach lounges, to world class beds and bath accommodations this is an ultra-premium experience. Very highly recommended.
