The attentive staff and personal touches are often highlighted, enhancing the serene experience. Though some find the rooms basic, the spacious accommodations and prime location near dining and town center are popular with many travelers. we stayed for a week in a lovely deluxe room with a garden we couldn't have asked for more. on arrival reception told us all about the resort showed us around the room and everything on offer. we had breakfast every morning very nice staff very helpful lots of variety , we also had dinner here in the spice lounge very nice food would definitely recommend it at least once.
its a lovely beach and pools cocktail every afternoon around the pool, all very peaceful nice walks on the beach lots of bars along the way.
we ate out quite a lot 5 minutes walk up the road lots of choice every restaurant was nice.
we hired a scooter from the hotel for the day was about £13 very cheap and looked better than the ones in the shops around the hotel.
if we went back to phu quoc would go back here its lovely all the staff so nice there is yoga lessons too but didn't have time to attend but lots did. its all quite flat walking so if mobility is an issue you would be fine here

There are many things to like about Cassia Cottage. The facilities are beautiful and well kept - I loved my room and the three pools lived up to the hype. There are ample places to sit and enjoy, and you can access the ocean when it is safe to swim. The Spice House is also very good - the food was delicious and the included breakfast was very impressive. Plus, the staff at the restaurant were great. I also LOVED that the hotel was eco conscious and that you can drink the water, though I hope they switch to bamboo toothbrushes and combs as well rather than plastic. The location is also close to the main road and night market so it is easy to access shops, other restaurants, and other spas. My main critique is that the central reception was not very helpful around helping to plan my trip. Other hotels gave me way more advice or thorough explanations of what there was to do. This hotel did not - I asked when I booked and they said that I should wait until I got there (bad advice) and then when I did they mostly handed me a brochure for John's Tours (another mistake...my tour of South Island was a glorified shop tour) and told me I would need taxis to get anywhere (mostly true though the night market is close and there are also souvenir shops all over the main road if you want to buy pepper, honey, fish, candy, etc.). I know they are short staffed but compared to how helpful and thoughtful staff were at other Vietnamese hotels, I felt like this one I was on my own.

We took your comments under advisement and done a Front Office re-set to expand our offerings and improve our responsiveness. WHile looking we also realized the room needs freshening. Next time, you’ll find new doors, and aircon in the hot part of the day, spices from our own suppliers and farms and… more tour options. Thank you for your feedback

We stayed at Cassia Cottage for 6 days on the final leg of our Vietnam/Cambodia trip. Initially we only booked in for 2 nights to make sure we were happy with the resort & location, we soon booked the remainder of our time on the island there. Resort is located approx 2km from the night markets in Phu Quoc, but it is surrounded by restaurants, bars & shops. The resort bar overlooks the beach & the view is stunning, the beach is cleaned each morning by staff, however does become littered during the day with the rubbish rolling in with the waves, all beach area on the island is the same as it is quite polluted. We did not swim in the ocean, the resort has 3 pools, the main one is huge, pristine, plenty of sunbeds & overlooks the beach. The rooms are huge & very nice, restaurant has a good breakfast & very nice dinner available. Staff are all so nice, Thi was very helpful & they can assist with tours & any other queries. There is no gym, however a huge one is across the road, charging only $18 for 7 days access. We hired scooters from the restaurant up the lane for $6 per day. Stop scrolling any of the other resorts on the island, this has everything you could ever want, we will definitely return

We had such a great stay at Cassia Cottage - it's absolutely beautiful, the staff are all very welcoming and accomodating (big mention to Dat and Giang) and the ladies at the spa were fantastic, we went for many massages. The Spice House restaurant was delicious and the breakfast in the morning had a huge variety of tasty options - pho, pancakes, eggs, pastries, a selection of hot food, fruit, juices and coffee. The rooms are cute and well kept with aircon and the location of Cassia Cottage is perfect - walking distance to the town centre or you can hire a moped from the hotel. Already planning my next visit :)

We were blessed with four days in Phu Quoc at Cassia Cottage recovering from our two day journey from Canada Cassia cottage is a beautiful very low key oasis of serenity on the beach. The gardens are splendid and maintained with loving care. Each low slung building is unique while the original two buildings which were the home of the American spice merchant have been converted to multi bedroom cottages. There is twice daily yoga an unexpected surprise a multi use open room with books in multiple languages. The staff are kind and considerate locally recruited and trained. A wonderful alternative to impersonal mega resorts. Would love to come back again and again.

Don't be fooled by the word "Cottage". This beachfront hotel has spacious, well maintained rooms with balconies and lots of windows to take in the stunning gardens and sky. The breakfast is a feast with quality food (the sourdough bread is delicious). Due to Covid travel restrictions, I needed to stay on the island longer than expected. No complaint on my end. Relaxing in any one of their three pools made the days disappear - the prefect way to spend my holiday. The Spice House restaurant lives up to its name, with tasty dishes and excellent service. What was best of all was the caring staff. They took as much time as needed to help me make my trip a success. Mai Anh must have spent almost an hour rebooking my flights and never lost her smile. When advice for finding a hiking train or waterfall, Jenny knew just what we were looking for and gave clear directions how to find it.
I have travelled extensively through SE Asia but would recommend this "cottage" over all others. Its location. facilities and staff are excellent.

We’ve just spent a wonderful week at Cassia Cottage. We chose a pool view room (there are four of these between the two garden bungalows).
As the name suggests the room looks out over two pools (one of which is a children’s pool but there were very few children at the resort) but about 40 metres beyond the pools in the beach and our room (1B) had a view straight down to the sea.
The bedroom was spacious with cooling A/C and mosquito nets on the bed.
The WIFI was a bit hit and miss in the room on my phone, but my wife who also has an iPhone was able to connect more often.
Through the adjoining bathroom and toilet there was an open air shower which had plentiful hot water at any time of day and night. As you might expect in a tropical area there were a few visitors to the shower area, one quite large gecko seemed attracted to the wall each night.
There is a yoga studio that had sessions twice a day, which unfortunately I kept missing 😂.
The beach bar (The Malabar) served snacks and drinks, including two for one cocktail of the day between 4 and 5PM.
There is a section of beach immediately in front of the hotels grounds with beds for guests. It is a fairly short beach and the tide never seemed to recede very far so it was always convenient for a dip and the water was lovely and warm.
The hotel has two kayaks (a single and a double) which we took out for a paddle.
Breakfast was served each morning at The Spice House restaurant and offered a wide range of local and western choices.
The lane from the hotel up to the main road had some very good (and good value) restaurants.
I would thoroughly recommend.

The room and amenities were excellent all around. Attention to detail and eco friendly. Delicious breakfast with plenty of fresh food and healthy choices. Highlights included the attentive, kind and helpful/knowledgeable reception staff, the daily yoga classes (easily accommodates beginners) with an excellent teacher, for those more advanced you can schedule individual classes. Easy access to town and airport. Not for the budget conscious as it is on the high end but did include many extras like the free yoga classes and free airport transport, it was a nice treat for our family (we rarely stay in hotels in this price range). All extra services reasonably priced.

Cassia Cottage is a beautiful calm retreat on the beach. The rooms are lovely; spacious and airy with either a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens or with a glimpse of the sea. The room was always kept spotlessly clean, and the staff came each evening to put mosquito drapes round the bed. Breakfast was in the Spice House; always a great selection and an evening drink to watch the sunset at the Malabar by the beach was amazing. The Spa by the beach was calm-a massage here with the sound of the sea was superb! There are 3 swimming pools, one being a large infinity pool overlooking the sea. Plenty of loungers and pool towels too.
The village just up the road has great restaurants as an alternative to eating in the Spice House.
Cassia Cottage is such a wonderful hotel and to maintain the quality and thoughtfulness to its guests, a small suggestion is to provide a designated shower room for any guests who leave after the 12 pm check out time. It would be much appreciated!

Lovely writing and your suggestion to upgrade our late- checkout shower room is well-taken. We have several, but the Hosts did not arrange for you. At the same time- we give anyone requesting a late checkout without charge until 4 ÔM based on our availability. We do not have a timer that starts running at 11AM…like the international chains.

Wish we had stayed four days. We enjoyed the yoga, snorkeling, massages para-sailing, great food at their restaurant overlooking the infinity pool and ocean at sunset, and just relaxing in our beautiful room ( #101). It is only ten minutes from the airport. Excellent customer service throughout. I appreciated the vegan options in the restaurant. Breakfast is included and the food is all fresh and mostly healthy, including freshly made soy milk. The only negative is that all of the resorts are next to each other and you can walk along the beach but it is quite crowded. Still, I highly recommend Cassia Cottage.

We control mosquitoes by keeping our gardens clean, and by using electronic mosquito zapper‘s from Italy. They work well. Of course, it’s a tropical island, and especially outside the hotel, other businesses and neighbors do not pay attention to reducing mosquitoes. You should especially be Careful if you go to the night market.
