The resort is in horrible condition, our room was musty and dirty and when we asked for a new room we were charged and when we got to the other room it was also dirty and in poor condition when it was supposed to be a better room. The food in the restaurant is very average with the quality and presentation of the food. The grounds that the resort is located on are very run down with untidy gardens and one of the pools was green and full of bamboo cuttings. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL THE PHOTOS OF THE RESORT ARE INACCURATE

This hotel is wonderful, check in was easy and quick, all staff at this location are very attentive, friendly, and helpful. We stayed in Villa room and this room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The pool bar is great, we stayed here for 3 nights, and loved waking up and knowing there was good coffee and food waiting for us. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Phu Quoc.

Lovely resort. Had a room with sea view just beautiful. Room 208. Fantastic breakfast with plenty of choice. Dinner was fantastic and western and Vietnamese choice and very big portions. The staff are helpful and the place is clean. The beach is small but clean, pool is beautiful. Two of the pools near the villas are empty and not in use, but if you want to stay nearer the main hotel bit it is worth it. Easy to get a taxi to everywhere as you can’t walk to the shops. Get Grab Taxi app works out cheaper. We hired a motorcycle for 7hrs for 100,000 d Easy to ride one here as not as busy. Also the hotel is halfway between the north and south of the island.

Location - The Shells is located around 20 mins away on bike from the main centre of the island with nothing around. A 1.5 km dark abandoned road stretch reaches the resort, feels insecure and unattended. No restaurants or cafe around. Service - Disinterested staff, not oriented towards customer service once they check in the guests. Room / Property- in a very ignored state; needs renovation of villas. The garden/villa front isn’t manicured, Villa main pool isn’t functional and looks abandoned. Pool near the restaurant is good and clean; just be cautious of the broken tiles on the pool bed, May give cuts if not careful. Beach - Dirty, Rocky with less than 100 Mtrs of sand stretch. Not recommended to sea bathe or swim really. Island has much better resorts with amazing coastline and beach area. Food - Very less options, cold staff, service and customer centricity needs focus. Overall - Must avoid if travelling with family or kids. Would need a bike or a taxi to commute around. Food options very limited. Villas not recommended.…

From the large water feature at the front of the reception and the two closed swimming pools near the reception, both full of algae, to the villa rooms with unnecessary cupboards that open into the roof eves with large external vents, this resort could really do with an update and could be so much better. The big swimming pool, which is a maximum of 1.3m deep throughout, has a lot of it’s mosaic tiles missing, resulting in some sharp edges and there are no proper steps down to the small beach. It’s nice in the sea and there are kayaks that you can use. There’s not much nearby really and it’s not particularly close to town, so it’s best to use the Grab app to get a taxi or food deliveries. There’s a lot of potential to improve this resort and it could be a lovely place to stay. The sunsets across the sea are spectacular, so it’s nice to sit and watch the sun go down from the pool bar. There are better options available on Phu Quoc around the same price or lower.…

We chose this resort as the final stop of our honeymoon and overall it's a nice hotel. Very clean and breakfast has lots of options. Dinner is a little more expensive than in other areas of Vietnam, however this is a nice restaurant with proper cuts of meat which you don't always get with the street restaurants. The place is a little secluded and would recommend asking your driver to stop at the supermarket on the way to buy some drinks. The hotel has no problem with you doing this as they leave the fridge empty. A lot cheaper than buying a lot of drinks around the pool. The staff (although they were lovely) let this place down a little due to the lack of communication. On our first night we went to bed early after all the traveling. There was a knock on the door around 10:30 which woke us up. As we were asleep we chose to ignore this which was followed by a ring of the door bell along with someone trying the door handle. We then heard a voice saying 'hello, can I come in?' with poor English. This was a very scary experience for us as we couldn't imagine why any member of staff would need to bother us at this time of night, let alone try the door handle so we called security.... Later we found out they had been trying to deliver a cake for our special occasion. This was a nice gesture but not needed at that time of night when the restaurant was closed. Very confusing. When the cake was delivered the next day it read Happy Birthday and not Happy Honeymoon. The whole place means well but definitely needs to work on their finishing touches.…

I stayed at this hotel in January 2019 and I really liked it. I returned here on 28th December 2022 for a 9 day holiday. Unfortunately, I had the part of a totally unpleasant surprise!!! The hotel is currently in a deplorable state!!! Everything is unkempt and abandoned. The beach no longer exists. The pool in the villa area is closed and completely rundown. The bar at the main pool is also closed. The furniture in the rooms is old and rundown. There is nothing to make your stay here pleasant. Everything is rusty, dirty and unkempt. At this moment, the hotel cannot be classified as a 5-star hotel. Due to this situation I had to cancel the rest of my vacation (we had 7 more days to stay here, after which we should have continued our vacation with 8 days spent at a hotel in Nha Trang) and we returned home with a bitter taste of a missed vacation. We flew over 10,000 kilometers to enjoy our vacation, but unfortunately it was a nightmare. The attitude of the hotel staff was also totally inappropriate, when we asked to check out 7 days earlier, they only returned part of the money, saying that after consulting with the management, to refund us the other amounts. Now they don't recognize anything and they don't want to refund anything of what they said initially. It's a totally unexpected attitude, because we had a different impression of Vietnam.…

The hotel grounds are beautiful and the little houses/rooms are wonderful . But here are some thoughts: - the resort is isolated so no dinner/lunch options without 20 min taxi ( no free shuttles provided) - a tennis court, SUP, windsurfing, water volleyball and a hobie cat would make a massive difference of things to do… ( and preferably included in the price….) - the buffet at breakfast was often empty of certain things and you had to ask and wait for more coffee/fruit/bread - by just having a staff member serving coffee/tea at the tables the feeling of service would severely improve In general, the service level was not very good and it felt like there was no professional management of the staff and premises.

We went to the island of Phu Quoc on our honeymoon. The resort was beautiful and clean, the staff were nice, the breakfast was great, the prices for meals were higher than if you left the resort. The location was removed from the town so you would need a motor bike to get around. They offered a rental for 100,000 for a half day and our bike stopped working about half way throughout our trip so they delivered another one. Our room was nice and big, but we had a bunch of ants crawling around the bathroom and through the cracking caulking. You’re surrounded by lush greenery, it makes sense to have some bugs join us. In the evening, we would watch some tv before bed but had problems with the eHotel service box (unplug it to get it to work again). On our way to breakfast one morning, it had finished raining and water pooled near the staircase. The floors were extra slippery when wet and our feet came out from under us. The staff came by and cleaned it right after. Minor issues overall but it was a good place to lay our heads for the evening and we felt safe and comfortable during our time there. …

I am right now staying in this resort. Such poor services where to start. Bathroom shower doesn’t work properly. Hot water is inconsistent. My husband was taking shower and the water got off. Not at all a 5 star resort. No welcome compliments. The food oh god not at all worth it. No vegetarian options in breakfast. You can have a good meal out at a restaurant but not here. You will pay for the price of 5 star and end up getting 2 star food. They charged us for the room upgrade in the rainy season and the room disappointed us so much. The air conditioner was not working so we had to call the reception to get it fixed. There is no happy hour or any effort from the staff. If you will see booking.com their rating is bad and i think they don’t even care for the ratings. They don’t know how to make a guest experience wonderful so why choose this resort when other resort will happily give you good services in the same price. Very disappointed should have choose salinda resort which i was getting at the same price. :(…
