Extremely bad client service and carelessness for people’s safety and health during the pandemic. Authorities in HCMC have recommended social distancing and restrict travel and this hotel considers ethical and normal to still charge in full under these conditions. They even said “don’t worry HCMC is doing well and come here and have a good holiday”. The “manager” expected to see my passport, my lease contract and a picture of my home in HCMC to analyze the case, without the slightest consideration for health and safety or travel precautions. Even after sending all these, I wasted more than a day on emails before they offered to postpone the booking under 12 months, then they changed their mind to before 6 months, only if I book within this week. Untrustworthy and horrible communication, with zero care for the customer’s needs or wellbeing and safety. …
Tanny is by far one of the nicest and most helpful front of service staff we have ever come across. We would go back again for her alone! Amazing value for money and the perfect distance from the beach. What more could you ask for?
The resort is understated, surrounded by lush greenery. Took a nice refreshing morning swim at the small pool, before heading out to the shops for some shopping. Thereafter, we headed directly to the beach which is a 3-5 minutes walk. It's an enjoyable walk along the quaint quiet roads, where you can see restaurants and bars that become alive evening onwards. The staff can smile more. There are huge mossies but they are not the vicious blood sucking type. Be sure to have mossie repellent.
For the 3 nights this was great value for money. Close to long beach. Good breakfast. Nice pool. Little hut with open bathroom. Lots of mosquitoes!! Other guest friendly and nice staff. The bathroom being open was a problem for bugs and shower cold !
Nice place, close to the beach ans restaurants. The bungalows are nice however open roof bathrooms attract mosquitoes. Hotel offer a safe for guests to store valuables but our was broken and never fixed.
The hotel is close to the beach. It is in a big tropical garden. The bungalows has nice terrace and our room was very spacious with huge beds. We like the bahroom conception, half of it was outside in the nature, this was very lovely. The facility was very clean, provided every day fresh towels to the beach too. NIce small pool we found the water a bit cold in comparison to the beach..Breakfast was okay. Friendly staff but don't have too much expectation concerning their English- its almost the same everywhere in Vietnam. We would recommand and definitely staay again:)
La Mer is in a Good location close to the beach and the Main Street. Friendly staff although English is not a strong point. WiFi is terrible.. only available in the restaurant area and not in the rooms and not v fast. Julie’s boutique up the road must be avoided /boycotted. They are cruel to their their animals. We witnessed the owner slapping the dog harshly in the face and then dragging it on it’s back by its two front legs across the shop floor and throwing it out the door. Horrible to witness. The rabbit hole pub is a must... as is Amanda’s in town. The Coconut coffee is sublime.
Traveled with a group a girl friends. Booked La Mer as it has a family room of 4 persons. A very nice and clean place, surrounding with green. Beach is at walking distance as well as the bar and restaurant. Breakfast spread is just nice. Worth the money we spend and will for sure go there again!
We stayed here for four nights. The grounds are beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good although a little limited in range and they generally didn't restock once something ran out. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and kind of shabby but in a good way. Some other reviews mentioned mosquitos. We didn't have an issue but I can see why it might be a problem at times. There are mosquito nets above the beds. The only real issue we had was a lack of twin beds. We booked a twin room but when we got there we had one queen bed; not ideal for father and son! We had to upgrade to a twin queen room for an extra $25 USD per night, so just be aware. Would stay again.
Stayed there for three nights with my bf. It’s a great place to use as a base but not the sort of resort you can really relax in. The rooms lack light and there are a lot of mosquitoes. Positives: excellent location, quiet, near nice restaurants and comfortable beds.
