Great Hotel, Hot Spring with Cool Ambience Back in 1985 I visited the impressive thermal spring in Saturnia for the first time. The huge 37.5 degree hot pool with the healing algae fascinated me so much that I returned to San Valentino in February. Today the impressive hotel complex is a 5 star spa and definitely deserves that accolade. Reading the reviews, I think many visitors have not really explored and used the facility, or are simply bored with the abundance. Almost everyone talks about the food, for better or worse. I was particularly impressed by the huge (maybe 50 x 50m) hot spring, the pleasant relaxation rooms with large sauna to relax in, the Kneipp cure - cold water paths, the many Jacuzzis, which offered space for everyone even when there was a big rush. On Friday the pool was open until 12 o'clock at night. It was almost zero degrees outside, with lots of moonlight and the rising stamps of the hot spring, you could imagine how the Etruscans bathed and relaxed there 2500 years ago. Also in the changing room area I found another sauna, a Turkish bath (hamam), stacks of fresh towels everywhere, springs of fresh drinking water and a small Roman bath to cool off. But if you will be done, you will also discover another large Roman bath and a very well equipped gym with state of the art machines. 95% of the guests walked around in the hotel's own white bathrobe, which had something of a friendly equality about it, because there were definitely big differences in income among the guests, as you could see from the fleet of cars outside. Only the distribution of the deckchairs at the edge of the pool had a touch of clientelism, because apparently certain deckchairs fit the preferences of certain guests, although there were 3 times as many free chairs as necessary. Not only for arriving guests, who had to wait at the reception, there was chilled Prosecco and fresh fruit juices for self-service. Our room was large, super clean, modern and very comfortably furnished, with a garden and deck chairs in front of the room door. Breakfast was both Italian and international with an emphasis on fresh natural produce from the Maremma. It was extensive and varied. My German roots came forward with a request for brown bread. I hope to find that when I come back. In addition, you could squeeze your own juice from fresh vegetables and/or fruit. Everywhere in the hotel and in the complex there were 2-language information boards, hints and signposts. In addition, we met only friendly and competent staff. We did not take advantage of the free introductory golf course or the mountain bikes. Instead we enjoyed the surrounding villages, especially Pittigliano, the tufa village. The next day we went to Orbetello, the ancient Etruscan port by the sea and to Monte Argentario and found that the hotel is also an ideal place to explore southern Tuscany, especially because you can jump into the hot spring to relax after returning home.

This is an exceptional hotel, beautifully located 2 hours drive from Roma. Great rooms, terrific restaurant, unique mineral pool built directly over the source with high concentrated sulfur water. A travertine rock has created a natural spa, where the water is warm and the view is to die for. It’s 37°C (98.6°F) constantly and comes from a source underground brimming with sulphur and other minerals. The hotel has a hammam and sauna as well. The only problem we had was a poor management of the pool and spa areas: 1. We haven’t seen any one taking a shower prior entering the pool; 2. People in the sauna are sitting directly on the benches touching them with their buttocks and feet; 3. People are leaving towels, shower caps, sleepers inside the sauna and hammam; 4. People are leaving the swim suites to dry inside the sauna; 5. A big collection of forgotten swim suits was hanging in the changing area and nobody cares to remove it. 6. We haven’t seen any signs requesting the guests to follow the simple steps that I have mentioned above. All these made us very uncomfortable to enter the spa which was the main reason to visit this hotel. It doesn’t take much to fix all my notes and make all the guests happy and welcome.

The hotel is nice ...but the service in the restaurant is very bad ..Maitre d Maximilian mistakes our order ..twice we been for dinner and this man manager to mistakes our order in both evining...wrong wine .wrong food ..no apology was given at all.The main disappoint was the attitude of two of your waitress ..believe their name were Moira and Annalise ..the couldnt get my coffe right and once we conplain to her she was very rude ..and start yo blame onother waiter who really never took our order and my opinion..was the only one who could speak..proper and fluent english ....no ..that is not the way Moira to act toward custumers and colleges, but the think that really annoyed me..were her attitude ..very rude with no manner at all ...we never come back again.

The whole staff is amazing and we had a wonderful stay. Few things that require some improvements is the casalle area which is reserved for hotel guests (not sure if they allow non guest to access this for a fee?) It requires a maintenance as the shower have some moulds. Food is great, we also tried the massage here but it’s disappointing. The therapist came to us 10 mins late, our massage is supposed to be 50 mins but overall it was just 30 mins (they start the timing even the changing of clothes). We are from Asia and we can get better deal with really good therapist that focus as per your own preferences. We will stay here again for the thermal pool and the convenience to freshen up to your room but we will not do the spa anymore.

We have known this place for along time even if we didn’t come back since 2018. The location is always very nice , the rooms are very large and cozy . We chose a deluxe but we had an upgrade. The Personnel is very welcoming and professional , also the swimming pool area is very relaxing. The breakfast is always rich of very good products : salty and sweet . The location of the breakfast buffet is not so close at the tables as in the past. We have been happy to come back and it is always a wonderful place

We stayed in the hotel for 2 days and we felt that the hotel was very customer friendly and understanding of our problems. The spa, facilities and maintenance were very good. The thermal pool was wonderful but I feel they should open the pool for more hours. It was a wonderful stay overall!

Been to Saturnia several times and the parco termale has been very good but never like today which it has been excellent. Food is simply amazing and service is outstanding throughout. Especially I would like to thank Antonio the manager for his excellent customer service and for his help expecially for the good time we spent together. He was able to communicate in English and help me more than once. His food and drink recommendations were perfect! He was extremely polite, smiling all the time and very helpful in the parco termale never had this kind of people and at some point they were busy and he was able to jump in dufferent sector with no stress and I asked him how he could do this? parco termal is very lucky to have this guy as manager I really think he is a good asset of the place. unluckily for me since I work in hospitality around Europe otherwise I would take him. The place is surrounded by beautiful, hilly, countryside and it offers a full, high quality golf course among its facilities I would say a perfect place to spend a long week end for relaxation especially in the thermal bath. Thanks again Antonio for your help and see you soon probably in September.

Extremely poor and rude service at the restaurant. You have to wait at least half an hour to order and another hour for them to bring the food if you lucky cause they just forget. It’s not a five star hotel not even near it. Understaffed and stressed . Waiters without the experience not knowing what they doing. I’m not mentioning the sky high price of food. 15 euros for a portion of ice cream , common at least give me a service . Terrible. Absolutely terrible.. will never recommend to anyone..
